| And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sina in the second year after they had gone forth from the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying, | І сказав Господь Мойсеєві в пустелі Синайській на другий рік після виходу їх із землі Єгипетської, у перший місяць, говорячи: |

| Speak, and let the children of Israel keep the passover in its season. | нехай сини Ізраїлеві звершать Пасху в призначений для неї час: |

| On the fourteenth day of the first month at even, thou shalt keep it in its season; thou shalt keep it according to its law, and according to its ordinance. | у чотирнадцятий день цього місяця ввечері звершіть її в призначений для неї час, за всіма постановами і за всіма обрядами її звершіть її. |
|

| And Moses ordered the children of Israel to sacrifice the passover, | І сказав Мойсей синам Ізраїлевим, щоб звершили Пасху. |

| on the fourteenth day of the first month in the wilderness of Sina, as the Lord appointed Moses, so the children of Israel did. | І звершили вони Пасху в перший місяць, у чотирнадцятий день місяця ввечері, у пустелі Синайській: в усьому, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві, так і зробили сини Ізраїлеві. |

| And there came men who were unclean by reason of a dead body, and they were not able to keep the passover on that day; and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day. | Були люди, які були нечисті від дотику до мертвих тіл людських, і не могли звершити Пасху в той день; і прийшли вони до Мойсея й Аарона в той день, |

| And those men said to Moses, We are unclean by reason of the dead body of a man: shall we therefore fail to offer the gift to the Lord in its season in the midst of the children of Israel? | і сказали йому ті люди: ми нечисті від дотику до мертвих тіл людських; для чого нас позбавляти того, щоб ми принесли приношення Господу в призначений час серед синів Ізраїлевих? |

| And Moses said to them, Stand there, and I will hear what charge the Lord will give concerning you. | І сказав їм Мойсей: постійте, я послухаю, що повелить про вас Господь. |

| And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, | І сказав Господь Мойсеєві, говорячи: |
|

| Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Whatever man shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or on a journey far off, among you, or among your posterity; he shall then keep the passover to the Lord, | скажи синам Ізраїлевим: якщо хто з вас або з нащадків ваших буде нечистий від доторкання до мертвого тіла, або буде в далекій дорозі, то і він повинен звершити Пасху Господню; |

| in the second month, on the fourteenth day; in the evening they shall offer it, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs shall they eat it. | у чотирнадцятий день другого місяця ввечері нехай такі звершать її і з опрісноками і гіркими травами нехай їдять її; |

| They shall not leave of it until the morrow, and they shall not break a bone of it; they shall sacrifice it according to the ordinance of the passover. | і нехай не залишають від неї до ранку і кістки її не розтрощують; нехай звершать її за всіма уставами про Пасху; |
|

| And whatsoever man shall be clean, and is not far off on a journey, and shall fail to keep the passover, that soul shall be cut off from his people, because he has not offered the gift to the Lord in its season: that man shall bear his iniquity. | а хто чистий і не знаходиться в [далекій] дорозі і не звершить Пасхи, — знищиться душа та з народу свого, тому що він не приніс приношення Господу у свій час: понесе на собі гріх людина та; |

| And if there should come to you a stranger in your land, and should keep the passover to the Lord, he shall keep it according to the law of the passover and according to its ordinance: there shall be one law for you, both for the stranger, and for the native of the land. | якщо буде жити у вас прибулець, то і він повинен звершити Пасху Господню: за уставом про Пасху і за обрядом її він повинен звершити її; один устав нехай буде у вас і для прибульця і для тубільця. |

| And in the day in which the tabernacle was pitched the cloud covered the tabernacle, the place of the testimony; and in the evening there was upon the tabernacle as the appearance of fire till the morning. | У той день, коли поставлена була скинія, хмара покрила скинію одкровення, і з вечора над скинією ніби вогонь видний був до самого ранку. |

| So it was continually: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. | Так було і завжди: хмара покривала її [удень] і подоба вогню вночі. |
|

| And when the cloud went up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel departed; and in whatever place the cloud rested, there the children of Israel encamped. | І коли хмара піднімалася від скинії, тоді сини Ізраїлеві вирушали в путь, і на місці, де зупинялася хмара, там зупинялися станом сини Ізраїлеві. |

| The children of Israel shall encamp by the command of the Lord, and by the command of the Lord they shall remove: all the days in which the cloud overshadows the tabernacle, the children of Israel shall encamp. | За повелінням Господнім вирушали сини Ізраїлеві в путь, і за повелінням Господнім зупинялися: весь той час, коли хмара стояла над скинією, і вони стояли; |

| And whenever the cloud shall be drawn over the tabernacle for many days, then the children of Israel shall keep the charge of God, and they shall not remove. | і якщо хмара довгий час була над скинією, то і сини Ізраїлеві додержувалися цієї вказівки Господа і не вирушали; |
|

|
| And it shall be, whenever the cloud overshadows the tabernacle a number of days, they shall encamp by the word of the Lord, and shall remove by the command of the Lord. | іноді ж хмара недовгий час була над скинією: вони за вказівкою Господньою зупинялися, і за вказівкою Господньою вирушали у путь; |

| And it shall come to pass, whenever the cloud shall remain from the evening till the morning, and in the morning the cloud shall go up, then shall they remove by day or by night. | іноді хмара стояла тільки від вечора до ранку, і зранку піднімалася хмара, тоді і вони вирушали; або день і ніч стояла хмара, і коли піднімалася, і вони тоді вирушали; |

| When the cloud continues a full month overshadowing the tabernacle, the children of Israel shall encamp, and shall not depart. | або, якщо два дні, або місяць, або кілька днів стояла хмара над скинією, то і сини Ізраїлеві стояли і не вирушали в путь; а коли вона піднімалася, тоді вирушали; |

| For they shall depart by the command of the Lord:—they kept the charge of the Lord by the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses. | за вказівкою Господньою зупинялися, і за вказівкою Господньою вирушали в путь: додержувалися вказівки Господньої за повелінням Господнім, даним через Мойсея. |
