И# бhсть во четвертоенaдесzть лёто цaрствующу є3зекjи, взhде сеннахирjмъ цaрь ґссmрjйскъ на грaды твє1рды їудє1йски и3 взS w4ныz. Now it came to pass in the fourteenth year of the reign of Ezekias, that Sennacherim, king of the Assyrians, came up against the strong cities of Judea, and took them.
2
2
И# послA цaрь ґссmрjйскъ раpaка t лахjса во їеrли1мъ ко царю2 є3зекjи съ си1лою вели1кою, и3 стA ў водовaжды купёли вhшніz на пути2 селA кнафeова [бэли1лнича]. And the king of the Assyrians sent Rabsaces out of Laches to Jerusalem to king Ezekias with a large force: and he stood by the conduit of the upper pool in the way of the fuller's field.
3
3
И# и3зhде къ немY є3ліакjмъ сhнъ хелкjевъ домострои1тель, и3 сомнaсъ книг0чій, и3 їwaхъ сhнъ ґсaфовъ памzтопи1сецъ. And there went forth to him Heliakim the steward, the son of Chelcias, and Somnas the scribe, and Joach the son of Asaph, the recorder.
4
4
И# речE и5мъ раpaкъ: рцhте є3зекjи: сі‰ глаг0летъ цaрь вели1кій, цaрь ґссmрjйскъ: на что2 ўповaеши; And Rabsaces said to them, Say to Ezekias, Thus says the great king, the king of the Assyrians, Why art thou secure?
5
5
є3дA совётомъ и3 словесы2 ќстными би1тва бывaетъ; и3 нн7э на кого2 ўповaеши, ћкw не покарsешисz мнЁ; Is war carried on with counsel and mere words of the lips? and now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
6
6
сE, ўповaеши на жeзлъ тр0стzнъ сокрушeнный сeй, на є3гЂпетъ, на нег0же ѓще њпрeтсz мyжъ, вни1детъ въ рyку є3гw2 и3 прободeтъ ю5: тaкw є4сть фараHнъ цaрь є3гЂпетскій, и3 вси2 ўповaющіи на него2: Behold, thou trustest on this bruised staff of reed, on Egypt: as soon as a man leans upon it, it shall go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharao king of Egypt and all that trust in him.
7
7
ѓще же глаг0лете, на гDа бGа нaшего ўповaемъ: не сeй ли є4сть, є3гHже разори2 є3зекjа высHкаz и3 трє1бища є3гw2, и3 заповёда їyдэ и3 їеrли1му: пред8 nлтарeмъ си1мъ поклони1тесz; But if ye say, We trust in the Lord our God;
8
8
нн7э соедини1тесz господи1ну моемY царю2 ґссmрjйску, и3 дaмъ вaмъ двЁ тhсzщы к0ней, ѓще м0жете дaти всэдaющыz на ни1хъ: yet now make an agreement with my lord the king of the Assyrians, and I will give you two thousand horses, if ye shall be able to set riders upon them.
9
9
и3 кaкw м0жете tврати1ти лицE воев0ды є3ди1нагw; раби2 сyть, и5же ўповaютъ на є3гЂптzнъ, на к0ней и3 всaдникwвъ: And how can ye then turn to the face of the satraps? They that trust on the Egyptians for horse and rider are our servants.
10
10
и3 нн7э є3дA без8 гDа пріид0хомъ на странY сію2, воевaти на ню2; гDь речE ко мнЁ: взhди на зeмлю сію2 и3 погуби2 ю5. And now, Have we come up against this land to fight against it without the Lord? The Lord said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
11
11
Then Eliakim and Somnas and Joach said to him, Speak to thy servants in the Syrian tongue; for we understand it: and speak not to us in the Jewish tongue: and wherefore speakest thou in the ears of the men on the wall?
12
12
И# речE къ ни6мъ раpaкъ: є3дA ко господи1ну вaшему, и3ли2 къ вaмъ послa мz господи1нъ м0й глаг0лати словесA сі‰; не къ человёкwмъ ли сэдsщымъ на њгрaдэ, да kдsтъ моты6ла и3 пію1тъ м0чь съ вaми вкyпэ; And Rabsaces said to them, Has my lord sent me to your lord or to you, to speak these words? has he not sent me to the men that sit on the wall, that they may eat dung, and drink their water together with you?
13
13
И# стA раpaкъ, и3 возопи2 глaсомъ вeліимъ їудeйски и3 речE: слhшите словесA царS вели1кагw, царS ґссmрjйска: And Rabsaces stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jewish language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of the Assyrians:
14
14
сі‰ глаг0летъ цaрь: да не прельщaетъ вaсъ є3зекjа словесы2, не м0жетъ и3збaвити вaсъ: thus says the king, Let not Ezekias deceive you with words: he will not be able to deliver you.
15
15
и3 да не глаг0летъ вaмъ є3зекjа, ћкw и3збaвитъ вы2 бGъ, и3 не предaстсz грaдъ сeй въ рyцэ царS ґссmрjйска: And let not Ezekias say to you, That God will deliver you, and this city will not at all be delivered into the hand of the king of the Assyrians.
16
16
не слyшайте є3зекjи: сі‰ глаг0летъ цaрь ґссmрjйскій: ѓще х0щете благословeни бhти, и3зыди1те ко мнЁ и3 kди1те кjйждо віногрaдъ св0й и3 смHкви, и3 пjйте t пот0ка вaшегw, Hearken not to Ezekias: thus says the king of the Assyrians, If ye wish to be blessed, come out to me: and ye shall eat every one of his vine and his fig-trees, and ye shall drink water out of your own cisterns;
17
17
д0ндеже пріидY и3 поимY вы2 въ зeмлю, ћже ѓки вaша землS, землS пшени1цы и3 вінA и3 хлёбwвъ и3 віногрaдwвъ: until I come and take you to a land, like your own land, a land of corn and wine, and bread and vineyards.
18
18
да не прельщaетъ вaсъ є3зекjа, глаг0лz: бGъ вaшъ и3збaвитъ вы2: є3дA и3збaвиша б0зи kзhчестіи, кjйждо странY свою2 t руки2 царS ґссmрjйска; Let not Ezekias deceive you, saying, God will deliver you. Have the gods of the nations delivered each one his own land out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians?
19
19
гдЁ є4сть б0гъ є3мafовъ и3 ґрфafовъ; и3 гдЁ б0гъ грaда сепфарjма; є3дA возмог0ша и3збaвити самарjю t руки2 моеS; Where is the god of Emath, and Arphath? and where is the god of Eppharuaim? have they been able to deliver Samaria out of my hand?
20
20
кто2 t богHвъ всёхъ kзhкwвъ си1хъ, и4же и3збaви зeмлю свою2 t руки2 моеS, ћкw и3збaвитъ бGъ їеrли1ма t руки2 моеS; Which is the god of all these nations, that has delivered his land out of my hand, that God should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
21
21
И# ўмолк0ша, и3 никт0же tвэщA є3мY словесE, повелёніz рaди царeва, да никт0же tвэщaетъ. And they were silent, and none answered him a word; because the king had commanded that none should answer.
22
22
И# вни1де є3ліакjмъ сhнъ хелкjевъ домострои1тель, и3 сомнaсъ книг0чій си1лы, и3 їwaхъ сhнъ ґсaфовъ памzтопи1сецъ ко є3зекjи въ растeрзаныхъ ри1захъ и3 повёдаша є3мY словесA раpaкwва. And Heliakim the son of Chelcias, the steward, and Somnas the military scribe, and Joach the son of Asaph, the recorder, came in to Ezekias, having their garments rent, and they reported to him the words of Rabsaces.
