| which he spoke to all the people of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, | і яке пророк Єремія промовив до всього народу юдейського і до всіх жителів Єрусалима і сказав: |

| In the thirteenth year of Josias, son of Amos, king of Juda, even until this day for three and twenty years, I have both spoken to you, rising early and speaking, | від тринадцятого року Іосії, сина Амонового, царя Юдейського, до цього дня, ось уже двадцять три роки, було до мене слово Господнє, і я з раннього ранку говорив вам, — і ви не слухали. |

| and I sent to you my servants the prophets, sending them early; (but ye hearkened not, and listened not with your ears;) saying, | Господь посилав до вас усіх рабів Своїх, пророків, з раннього ранку посилав, — і ви не слухали і не прихиляли вуха свого, щоб слухати. |

| Turn ye every one from his evil way, and from your evil practices, and ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to you and your fathers, of old and for ever. | Вам говорили: «наверніться кожен від злої путі своєї і від злих діл своїх і живіть на землі, яку Господь дав вам і батькам вашим із віку у вік; |

| Go ye not after strange gods, to serve them, and to worship them, that ye provoke me not by the works of your hands, to do you hurt. | і не ходіть слідом інших богів, щоб служити їм і поклонятися їм, і не прогнівляйте Мене ділами рук своїх, і не зроблю вам зла». |

| But ye hearkened not to me. | Але ви не слухали Мене, — говорить Господь, — прогнівляючи Мене ділами рук своїх, на зло собі. |

| Therefore thus saith the Lord; Since ye believed not my words, | Тому так говорить Господь Саваоф: за те, що ви не слухали слів Моїх, |

| behold, I will send and take a family from the north, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all the nations round about it, and I will make them utterly waste, and make them a desolation, and a hissing, and an everlasting reproach. | ось, Я пошлю і візьму всі племена північні, — говорить Господь, — і пошлю до Навуходоносора, царя Вавилонського, раба Мого, і приведу їх на землю цю і на жителів її і на усі навколишні народи; і зовсім знищу їх і зроблю їх жахом і посміянням і вічним запустінням. |

| And I will destroy from among them the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the scent of ointment, and the light of a candle. | І припиню у них голос радости і голос веселощів, голос нареченого і голос нареченої, звук жорен і світло світильника. |

| And all the land shall be a desolation; and they shall serve among the Gentiles seventy years. | І вся земля ця буде пустелею і жахом; і народи ці будуть служити цареві Вавилонському сімдесят років. |
|

| And when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will take vengeance on that nation, and will make them a perpetual desolation. | І буде: коли виповниться сімдесят років, покараю царя Вавилонського і той народ, — говорить Господь, — за їх нечестя, і землю Халдейську, і зроблю її вічною пустелею. |

| And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have spoken against it, even all things that are written in this book. | І звершу над тією землею усі слова Мої, які Я вимовив на неї, усе написане у цій книзі, яку Єремія по-пророцьки прорік на усі народи. |

| The Prophecies of Jeremias against the Nations of Ælam. | Бо і їх поневолять численні народи і царі великі; і Я віддам їм за їхніми вчинками і за ділами рук їхніх. |
|

|
| Thus saith the Lord, The bow of Ælam is broken, even the chief of their power. | Бо так сказав мені Господь, Бог Ізраїлів: візьми з руки Моєї чашу цю з вином люті і напої з неї усі народи, до яких Я посилаю тебе. |
|

|
| And I will bring upon Ælam the four winds from the four corners of heaven, and I will disperse them toward all these winds; and there shall be no nation to which they shall not come—even the outcasts of Ælam. | І вони вип’ють, і будуть хитатися і збожеволіють, побачивши меч, який Я пошлю на них. |

| And I will put them in fear before their enemies that seek their life; and I will bring evils upon them according to my great anger; and I will send forth my sword after them, until I have utterly destroyed them. | І взяв я чашу з руки Господньої і напоїв з неї всі народи, до яких послав мене Господь: |

| And I will set my throne in Ælam, and will send forth thence king and rulers. | Єрусалим і міста юдейські, і царів його і князів його, щоб спустошити їх і зробити жахом, посміянням і прокляттям, як і видно нині, |
|

|
| But it shall come to pass at the end of days, that I will turn the captivity of Ælam, saith the Lord. | фараона, царя Єгипетського, і слуг його, і князів його і весь народ його, |
|

|
| In the beginning of the reign of king Sedekias, there came this word concerning Ælam. | і весь змішаний народ, і всіх царів землі Уца, і всіх царів землі Филистимської, і Аскалон, і Газу, й Екрон, і залишки Азота, |
