| Thus said the Lord God of Israel; Take the cup of this unmixed wine from mine hand, and thou shalt cause all the nations to drink, to whom I send thee. | Бо так говорить Господь Саваоф, Бог Ізраїлів: доми і поля і виноградники будуть знову купуватися у землі цій. |

| And they shall drink, and vomit, and be mad, because of the sword which I send among them. | І, передавши купчий запис Варуху, синові Нирії, я помолився Господу: |

| So I took the cup out of the Lord's hand, and caused the nations to whom the Lord sent me to drink: | «о, Господи Боже! Ти створив небо і землю великою силою Твоєю і простягнутою правицею; для Тебе нічого немає неможливого; |

|
| Jerusalem, and the cities of Juda, and the kings of Juda, and his princes, to make them a desert place, a desolation, and a hissing; | Ти являєш милість тисячам і за беззаконня батьків відплачуєш у надро дітям їхнім після них: Боже великий, сильний, Якому ім’я Господь Саваоф! |

| and Pharao king of Egypt, and his servants, and his nobles, and all his people; | Великий у раді і сильний у ділах, Якого очі відкриті на усі путі синів людських, щоб відплачувати кожному за путями його і за плодами діл його, |

| and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the Philistines, and Ascalon, and Gaza, and Accaron, and the remnant of Azotus, | Який звершив чудеса і знамення у землі Єгипетській, і звершуєш до цього дня і в Ізраїлі і між усіма людьми, і сотворив Собі ім’я, як у цей день, |

| and Idumea, and the land of Moab, and the children of Ammon, | і вивів народ Твій Ізраїля із землі Єгипетської знаменнями і чудесами, і рукою сильною і правицею простягнутою, при великому жаху, |

| and the kings of Tyre, and the kings of Sidon, and the kings in the country beyond the sea, | і дав їм землю цю, яку дати їм клятвено обіцяв батькам їхнім, землю, яка тече молоком і медом. |

| and Dædan, and Thæman, and Ros, and every one that is shaved round about the face, | Вони ввійшли і заволоділи нею, але не стали слухати гласу Твого і не чинили за законом Твоїм, не стали робити того, що Ти заповів їм робити, і за те Ти навів на них усі ці біди. |

| and all the mingled people lodging in the wilderness, | Ось, насипи досягають міста, щоб узяти його; і місто від меча і голоду і моровиці віддається у руки халдеїв, які воюють проти нього; що Ти говорив, те і сповнюється, і ось, Ти бачиш це. |

| and all the kings of Ælam, and all the kings of the Persians, | А Ти, Господи Боже, сказав мені: «купи собі поле за срібло і запроси свідків», тоді як місто віддається у руки халдеїв». |

| and all the kings from the north, the far and the near, each one with his brother, and all the kingdoms which are on the face of the earth. | І було слово Господнє до Єремії: |

| And thou shalt say to them, Thus said the Lord Almighty; Drink ye, be ye drunken; and ye shall vomit, and shall fall, and shall in nowise rise, because of the sword which I send among you. | ось, Я Господь, Бог усякої плоті; чи є щось неможливе для Мене? |

| And it shall come to pass, when they refuse to take the cup out of thine hand, to drink it, that thou shalt say, Thus said the Lord; Ye shall surely drink. | Тому так говорить Господь: ось, Я віддаю місто це до рук халдеїв і до рук Навуходоносора, царя Вавилонського, і він візьме його, |

| For I am beginning to afflict the city whereon my name is called, and ye shall by no means be held guiltless: for I am calling a sword upon all that dwell upon the earth. | і ввійдуть халдеї, які облягають це місто, запалять місто вогнем і спалять його і доми, на покрівлях яких підносилися куріння Ваалу і були узливання чужим богам, щоб прогнівляти Мене. |

| And thou shalt prophesy against them these words, and shalt say, The Lord shall speak from on high, from his sanctuary he will utter his voice; he will pronounce a declaration on his place; and these shall answer like men gathering grapes: and destruction is coming on them that dwell on the earth, | Бо сини Ізраїлеві й сини Іудині тільки зло робили перед очима Моїми від юности своєї; сини Ізраїлеві тільки прогнівляли Мене ділами рук своїх, — говорить Господь. |

| even upon the extreme part of the earth; for the Lord has a controversy with the nations, he is pleading with all flesh, and the ungodly are given to the sword, saith the Lord. | І ніби для гніву Мого і люті Моєї існувало місто це від самого дня побудови його до цього дня, щоб Я відкинув його від лиця Мого |

| Thus said the Lord; Behold, evils are proceeding from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind goes forth from the end of the earth. | за усе зло синів Ізраїля і синів Іуди, яке вони для прогнівлення Мене робили, вони, царі їхні, князі їхні, священики їхні й пророки їхні, й мужі Іуди і жителі Єрусалима. |

| And the slain of the Lord shall be in the day of the Lord from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth: they shall not be buried; they shall be as dung on the face of the earth. | Вони повернулися до Мене спиною, а не лицем; і коли Я навчав їх, з раннього ранку навчав, вони не хотіли прийняти настановлення, |

| Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and lament, ye rams of the flock: for your days have been completed for slaughter, and ye shall fall as the choice rams. | і в домі, над яким наречене ім’я Моє, поставили мерзоти свої, осквернили його. |

| And flight shall perish from the shepherds, and safety from the rams of the flock. | Влаштували капища Ваалу в долині синів Енномових, щоб проводити через вогонь синів своїх і дочок своїх на честь Молоха, чого Я не повелівав їм, і Мені на розум не спадало, щоб вони робили цю мерзоту, вводячи у гріх Іуду. |

| A voice of the crying of the shepherds, and a moaning of the sheep and the rams: for the Lord has destroyed their pastures. | І однак же нині так говорить Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, про це місто, про яке ви говорите: «воно віддається у руки царя Вавилонського мечем і голодом і моровицею», — |

| And the peaceable abodes that remain shall be destroyed before the fierceness of my anger. | ось, Я зберу їх з усіх країн, в які вигнав їх у гніві Моєму й у люті Моїй і у великому обуренні, і поверну їх на місце це і дам їм безпечне життя. |

|
| He has forsaken his lair, as a lion: for their land is become desolate before the great sword. | Вони будуть Моїм народом, а Я буду їм Богом. |
