Chapter 29	Глава́ к҃ѳ

A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: for when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy.	Лꙋ́чше мꙋ́жъ ѡ҆блича́ѧй, не́жели мꙋ́жъ жестоковы́йный: внеза́пꙋ бо пали́мꙋ є҆мꙋ̀, нѣ́сть и҆сцѣле́нїѧ.

When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: but when the ungodly rule, men mourn.	Похвалѧ́ємымъ првⷣнымъ, возвеселѧ́тсѧ лю́дїе: нача́лствꙋющымъ же нечєсти́вымъ, стенѧ́тъ мꙋ́жїе.

When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.	Мꙋ́жꙋ лю́бѧщꙋ премꙋ́дрость, весели́тсѧ ѻ҆те́цъ є҆гѡ̀: а҆ и҆́же пасе́тъ любодѣ̑йцы, погꙋби́тъ бога́тство.

A righteous king establishes a country: but a transgressor destroys it.	Ца́рь пра́веденъ возвыша́етъ зе́млю, мꙋ́жъ же законопрестꙋ́пникъ раскопова́етъ.

He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, entangles his own feet in it.	И҆́же оу҆готовлѧ́етъ на лицѐ своемꙋ̀ дрꙋ́гꙋ мре́жꙋ, ѡ҆блага́етъ ю҆̀ на своѧ̑ но́ги.

A great snare is spread for a sinner: but the righteous shall be in joy and gladness.	Согрѣша́ющемꙋ мꙋ́жꙋ ве́лїѧ сѣ́ть: првⷣный же въ ра́дости и҆ въ весе́лїи бꙋ́детъ.

A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: but the ungodly understands not knowledge; and the poor man has not an understanding mind.	Оу҆мѣ́етъ првⷣный сꙋ́дъ твори́ти оу҆бѡ́гимъ, а҆ нечести́вый не разꙋмѣ́етъ ра́зꙋма, и҆ оу҆бо́гомꙋ нѣ́сть оу҆ма̀ разꙋмѣва́ющагѡ.

Lawless men burn down a city: but wise men turn away wrath.	Мꙋ́жїе беззако́ннїи сожго́ша гра́дъ, мꙋ́дрїи же ѿврати́ша гнѣ́въ.

A wise man shall judge nations: but a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not.	Мꙋ́жъ мꙋ́дръ сꙋ́дитъ ꙗ҆зы́ки, мꙋ́жъ же ѕлы́й гнѣ́ваѧйсѧ посмѣва́емь быва́етъ, а҆ не оу҆страша́етъ.

Bloody men hate a holy person, but the upright will seek his soul.	Мꙋ́жїе крове́й прича́стни возненави́дѧтъ прпⷣбнаго, пра́вїи же взы́щꙋтъ дꙋ́шꙋ є҆гѡ̀.

A fool utters all his mind: but the wise reserves his in part.	Ве́сь гнѣ́въ сво́й произно́ситъ безꙋ́мный: премꙋ́дрый же скрыва́етъ по ча́сти.

When a king hearkens to unjust language, all his subjects are transgressors.	Царю̀ послꙋ́шающꙋ словесѐ непра́ведна, всѝ, и҆̀же под̾ ни́мъ, законопрестꙋ̑пницы.

When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both.	Заимода́вцꙋ и҆ должникꙋ̀, дрꙋ́гъ со дрꙋ́гомъ соше́дшымсѧ, посѣще́нїе твори́тъ ѻ҆бѣ́ма гдⷭ҇ь.

When a king judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for a testimony.	Царю̀ во и҆́стинѣ сꙋдѧ́щемꙋ ни́щымъ, престо́лъ є҆гѡ̀ во свидѣ́телство оу҆стро́итсѧ.
15	15
Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: but an erring child disgraces his parents.	Ꙗ҆́звы и҆ ѡ҆бличє́нїѧ даю́тъ мꙋ́дрость: ѻ҆́трокъ же заблꙋжда́ѧй срамлѧ́етъ роди́тєли своѧ̑.

When the ungodly abound, sins abound: but when they fall, the righteous are warned.	Мнѡ́гимъ сꙋ́щымъ нечєсти́вымъ мно́зи грѣсѝ быва́ютъ, првⷣнїи же, ѡ҆́нымъ па́дающымъ, оу҆страша́еми быва́ютъ.

Chasten thy son, and he shall give thee rest; and he shall give honour to thy soul.	Наказꙋ́й сы́на твоего̀, и҆ оу҆поко́итъ тѧ̀ и҆ да́стъ лѣ́потꙋ дꙋшѝ твое́й.
18	18
There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed.	Не бꙋ́детъ сказа́тель ꙗ҆зы́кꙋ законопрестꙋ́пнꙋ, хранѧ́й же зако́нъ блаже́нъ.
19	19
A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: for even if he understand, still he will not obey.	Не нака́жетсѧ словесы̀ ра́бъ же́стокъ: а҆́ще бо и҆ оу҆разꙋмѣ́етъ, но не послꙋ́шаетъ.
20	20
If thou see a man hasty in his words, know that the fool has hope rather than he.	А҆́ще оу҆ви́диши мꙋ́жа ско́ра въ словесѣ́хъ, разꙋмѣ́й, ꙗ҆́кѡ оу҆пова́нїе и҆́мать па́че є҆гѡ̀ безꙋ́мный.

He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.	И҆́же ласкосе́рдъ бꙋ́детъ ѿ дѣ́тства, порабо́титсѧ, на послѣ́докъ же болѣ́зновати бꙋ́детъ ѡ҆ се́мъ.

A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.	Мꙋ́жъ гнѣвли́вый воздвиза́етъ сва́ръ, мꙋ́жъ же ꙗ҆́рый ѿкрыва́етъ грѣхѝ.

Pride brings a man low, but the Lord upholds the humble-minded with honour.	Досажде́нїе мꙋ́жа смирѧ́етъ, а҆ смирє́нныѧ оу҆твержда́етъ гдⷭ҇ь въ сла́вѣ.

He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: and if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it,	И҆́же соѡбща́етсѧ та́тю, ненави́дитъ своеѧ̀ дꙋшѝ: а҆́ще же клѧ́твꙋ предложе́ннꙋю слы́шавшїи не возвѣстѧ́тъ,

they fearing and reverencing men unreasonably have been overthrown, but he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: but he that trusts in his master shall be safe.	оу҆боѧ́вшесѧ и҆ постыдѣ́вшесѧ человѣ́кѡвъ, преткнꙋ́тсѧ: надѣ́ѧвыйсѧ же на гдⷭ҇а возвесели́тсѧ. Нече́стїе мꙋ́жꙋ дае́тъ соблажне́нїе: оу҆пова́ѧй же на влⷣкꙋ спасе́тсѧ.

Many wait on the favour of rulers; but justice comes to a man from the Lord.	Мно́зи оу҆гожда́ютъ ли́цамъ нача́лникѡвъ: ѿ гдⷭ҇а же сбыва́етсѧ пра́вда мꙋ́жꙋ.

A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.	Ме́рзость првⷣникꙋ мꙋ́жъ непра́веденъ: ме́рзость же законопрестꙋ́пномꙋ пꙋ́ть правоведѧ́й.
