| The Word concerning Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Carthage; for she has perished, and men no longer arrive from the land of the Citians: she is led captive. | Пророцтво про Тир. — Ридайте, кораблі Фарсиса, бо він зруйнований; немає домів, і нема кому входити у доми. Так їм сповіщено із землі Киттийської. |

| To whom are the dwellers in the island become like, the merchants of Phœnice, passing over the sea | Замовкніть, мешканці острова, який наповнювали купці сидонські, що плавають по морю. |

|
| in great waters, a generation of merchants? as when the harvest is gathered in, so are these traders with the nations. | По великих водах привозили в нього насіння Сихора, жниво великої ріки, і був він торговищем народів. |
|

|
| Be ashamed, O Sidon: the sea has said, yea, the strength of the sea has said, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, nor have I brought up young men, nor reared virgins. | Посоромся, Сидоне; бо ось що говорить море, сила морська: «як би не мучилося я пологами і не народжувало, і не виховувало юнаків, не вирощувало дівчат». |

| Moreover when it shall be heard in Egypt, sorrow shall seize them for Tyre. | Коли звістка дійде до єгиптян, здригнуться вони, почувши про Тир. |

| Depart ye to Carthage; howl, ye that dwell in this island. | Переселяйтеся у Фарсис, ридайте, мешканці острова! |

| Was not this your pride from the beginning, before she was given up? | Чи це ваше радісне місто, початок якого від днів древніх? Ноги його несуть його блукати у країні далекій. |

|
| Who has devised this counsel against Tyre? Is she inferior? or has she no strength? her merchants were the glorious princes of the earth. | Хто визначив це Тиру, який роздавав вінці, якого купці були князями, торговці — знаменитостями землі? |

| The Lord of hosts has purposed to bring down all the pride of the glorious ones, and to disgrace every glorious thing on the earth. | Господь Саваоф визначив це, щоб посоромити гордовитість усякої слави, щоб принизити всі знаменитості землі. |

| Till thy land; for ships no more come out of Carthage. | Ходи по землі твоїй, дочко Фарсиса, як ріка: немає більше перепони. |

| And thy hand prevails no more by sea, which troubled kings: the Lord of hosts has given a command concerning Chanaan, to destroy the strength thereof. | Він простяг руку Свою на море, потряс царства; Господь дав повеління про Ханаана зруйнувати укріплення його |

| And men shall say, Ye shall no longer at all continue to insult and injure the daughter of Sidon: and if thou depart to the Citians, neither there shalt thou have rest. | і сказав: ти не будеш більше радіти, осоромлена дівчино, дочко Сидона! Вставай, іди в Киттим, але і там не буде тобі спокою. |

| And if thou depart to the land of the Chaldeans, this also is laid waste by the Assyrians, for her wall is fallen. | Ось земля халдеїв. Цього народу раніше не було; Ассур поклав йому початок з мешканців пустель. Вони ставлять вежі свої, руйнують палаци його, перетворюють його на руїни. |

| Howl, ye ships of Carthage: for your strong hold is destroyed. | Ридайте, кораблі фарсиські! Бо твердиня ваша розорена. |

| And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be left seventy years, as the time of a king, as the time of a man: and it shall come to pass after seventy years, that Tyre shall be as the song of a harlot. | І буде в той день, забудуть Тир на сімдесят років, мірою днів одного царя. Після закінчення ж сімдесяти років з Тиром буде те саме, що співають про блудницю: |

| Take a harp, go about, O city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; play well on the harp, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered. | «візьми цитру, ходи по місту, забута блуднице! Грай складно, співай багато пісень, щоб згадали про тебе». |

| And it shall come to pass after the seventy years, that God will visit Tyre, and she shall be again restored to her primitive state, and she shall be a mart for all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth. | І буде, після закінчення сімдесяти років, Господь відвідає Тир; і він знову почне одержувати прибуток свій і буде блудодіяти з усіма царствами земними по всьому всесвіту. |

| And her trade and her gain shall be holiness to the Lord: it shall not be gathered for them, but for those that dwell before the Lord, even all her trade, to eat and drink and be filled, and for a covenant and a memorial before the Lord. | Але торгівля його і прибуток його будуть присвячувані Господу; не будуть замкнені і покладені в комори, бо до тих, що живуть перед лицем Господа, буде переходити прибуток від торгівлі його, щоб вони їли до ситости і мали одяг міцний. |
