| See how the just man has perished, and no one lays it to heart: and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers: for the righteous has been removed out of the way of injustice. | Праведник помирає, і ніхто не приймає цього до серця; і мужі благочестиві підносяться від землі, і ніхто не помислить, що праведник підноситься від зла. |

| His burial shall be in peace: he has been removed out of the way. | Він відходить до миру; ті, що ходять прямими путями, будуть спочивати на ложах своїх. |

|
| But draw ye near hither, ye lawless children, the seed of adulterers and the harlot. | Але наблизьтеся сюди ви, сини чаклунки, сíм’я перелюбника і блудниці! |

| Wherein have ye been rioting? and against whom have ye opened your mouth, and against whom have ye loosed your tongue? are ye not children of perdition? a lawless seed? | З кого ви глузуєте? проти кого розширюєте рот, висуваєте язик? чи ви не діти злочину, сíм’я неправди, |

| who call upon idols under the leafy trees, slaying your children in the valleys among the rocks? | розпалені похіттю до ідолів під кожним гіллястим деревом, ті, що заколюєте дітей біля струмків, між розщелинами скель? |

| That is thy portion, this is thy lot: and to them hast thou poured forth drink-offerings, and to these hast thou offered meat-offerings. Shall I not therefore be angry for these things? | У гладеньких каменях струмків доля твоя; вони, вони жереб твій; їм ти робиш узливання і приносиш жертви: чи можу Я бути задоволений цим? |

| On a lofty and high mountain, there is thy bed, and thither thou carriedst up thy meat-offerings: | На високій і видатній горі ти ставиш ложе твоє і туди піднімаєшся приносити жертву. |

| and behind the posts of thy door thou didst place thy memorials. Didst thou think that if thou shouldest depart from me, thou wouldest gain? thou hast loved those that lay with thee; | За дверима також і за одвірками ставиш пам’яті твої; бо, відвернувшись від Мене, ти оголюєшся і сходиш; розширюєш постіль твою і домовляєшся з тими з них, з якими любиш лежати, видивляєшся місце. |

| and thou hast multiplied thy whoredom with them, and thou hast increased the number of them that are far from thee, and hast sent ambassadors beyond thy borders, and hast been debased even to hell. | Ти ходила також до царя із запашною мастю і примножила масті твої, і далеко посилала послів твоїх, і принижувалася до пекла. |

| Thou hast wearied thyself with thy many ways; yet thou saidst not, I will cease to strengthen myself: for thou hast done these things; therefore thou hast not supplicated me. | Від довгого шляху твого стомлювалася, але не говорила: «надія загублена!»; усе ще знаходила жвавість у руці твоїй, і тому не відчувала ослаблення. |

| Through dread of whom hast thou feared, and lied against me, and hast not remembered, nor considered me, nor regarded me, yea, though when I see thee I pass thee by, yet thou hast not feared me. | Кого ж ти злякалася й устрашилася, що зробилася невірною і Мене перестала пам’ятати і зберігати у твоєму серці? чи не від того, що Я мовчав, і притому довго, ти перестала боятися Мене? |

| And I will declare thy righteousness, and thy sins, which shall not profit thee. | Я покажу правду твою і діла твої, — і вони будуть не на користь тобі. |

| When thou criest out, let them deliver thee in thine affliction: for all these the wind shall take, and the tempest shall carry them away: but they that cleave to me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain. | Коли ти будеш волати, чи спасе тебе збіговисько твоє? — усіх їх віднесе вітер, розвіє подув; а той, хто надіється на Мене, успадкує землю і буде володіти святою горою Моєю. |

| And they shall say, Clear the ways before him, and take up the stumbling-blocks out of the way of my people. | І сказав: піднімайте, піднімайте, рівняйте шлях, прибирайте перешкоду зі шляху народу Мого. |

| Thus saith the Most High, who dwells on high for ever, Holy in the holies, is his name, the Most High resting in the holies, and giving patience to the faint-hearted, and giving life to the broken-hearted: | Бо так говорить Вишній і Звеличений, Який вічно живе, — Святий ім’я Його: Я живу на висоті небес і у святилищі, й також із упокореними і смиренними духом, щоб оживляти дух смиренних і оживляти серця упокорених. |

| I will not take vengeance on you for ever, neither will I be always angry with you: for my Spirit shall go forth from me, and I have created all breath. | Бо не вічно буду Я судитися і не до кінця гніватися; інакше знеможе переді Мною дух і все, що дише, що Мною створене. |

| On account of sin for a little while I grieved him, and smote him, and turned away my face from him; and he was grieved, and he went on sorrowful in his ways. | За гріх користолюбства його Я гнівався й уражав його, ховав лице і обурювався; але він, відвернувшись, пішов шляхом свого серця. |

|
| I have seen his ways, and healed him, and comforted him, and given him true comfort; | Я бачив шляхи його, і зцілю його, і буду водити його й утішати його і засмучених його. |

| peace upon peace to them that are far off, and to them that are nigh: and the Lord has said, I will heal them. | Я виконаю слово: мир, мир далекому і ближньому, — говорить Господь, — і зцілю його. |

| But the unrighteous shall be tossed as troubled waves, and shall not be able to rest. | А нечестиві — як море схвильоване, яке не може заспокоїтися, і во́ди якого викидають мул і бруд. |
|

|
| There is no joy to the ungodly, said God. | Немає миру нечестивим, — говорить Бог мій. |
