Have mercy upon us, O Lord God of all, and behold us:
|
ΠΕΡΙ ΗΓΟΥΜΕΝΩΝ.— ῾Ηγούμενόν σε κατέστησαν; μὴ ἐπαίρου· γίνου ἐν αὐτοῖς ὡς εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν, φρόντισον αὐτῶν καὶ οὕτω κάθισον.

|
and send thy fear upon all the nations that seek not after thee.
|
καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν χρείαν σου ποιήσας ἀνάπεσε, ἵνα εὐφρανθῇς δι᾿ αὐτοὺς καὶ εὐκοσμίας χάριν λάβῃς στέφανον.

|
Lift up thy hand against the strange nations, and let them see thy power.
|
λάλησον, πρεσβύτερε, πρέπει γάρ σοι, ἐν ἀκριβεῖ ἐπιστήμῃ καὶ μὴ ἐμποδίσῃς μουσικά.
|

|
As thou wast sanctified in us before them: so be thou magnified among them before us.
|
ὅπου ἀκρόαμα, μὴ ἐκχέῃς λαλιὰν καὶ ἀκαίρως μὴ σοφίζου.
|
|

|
|
And let them know thee, as we have known thee, that there is no God but only thou, O God.
|
σφραγὶς ἄνθρακος ἐπὶ κόσμῳ χρυσῷ, σύγκριμα μουσικῶν ἐν συμποσίῳ οἴνου.
|
|

|
|
Shew new signs, and make other strange wonders: glorify thy hand and thy right arm, that they may set forth thy wondrous works.
|
ἐν κατασκευάσματι χρυσῷ σφραγὶς σμαράγδου, μέλος μουσικὸν ἐφ᾿ ἡδεῖ οἴνῳ.

|
Raise up indignation, and pour out wrath: take away the adversary, and destroy the enemy.
|
Λάλησον, νεανίσκε, εἰ χρεία σου, μόλις δὶς ἐὰν ἐπερωτηθῇς·
|

|
Make the time short, remember the covenant, and let them declare thy wonderful works.
|
κεφαλαίωσον λόγον, ἐν ὀλίγοις πολλά· γίνου ὡς γινώσκων καὶ ἅμα σιωπῶν.
|
|

|
Let him that escapeth be consumed by the rage of the fire; and let them perish that oppress the people.
|
ἐν μέσῳ μεγιστάνων μὴ ἐξισάζου καὶ ἑτέρου λέγοντος μὴ πολλὰ ἀδολέσχει.
|
|

|
|
Smite in sunder the heads of the rulers of the heathen, that say, There is none other but we.
|
πρὸ βροντῆς κατασπεύδει ἀστραπή, καὶ πρὸ αἰσχυντηροῦ προελεύσεται χάρις.

|
Gather all the tribes of Jacob together.
|
ἐν ὥρᾳ ἐξεγείρου καὶ μὴ οὐράγει, ἀπότρεχε εἰς οἶκον καὶ μὴ ρᾳθύμει·
|
|

|
|
A cheerful and good heart will have a care of his meat and diet.
|
ἐκεῖ παῖζε καὶ ποίει τὰ ἐνθυμήματά σου καὶ μὴ ἁμάρτῃς λόγῳ ὑπερηφάνῳ.
