| And if the thief be found in the breach made by himself and be smitten and die, there shall not be blood shed for him. | Якщо хто украде вола або вівцю і заколе або продасть, то п’ять волів заплатить за вола і чотири вівці за вівцю. |

| But if the sun be risen upon him, he is guilty, he shall die instead; and if a thief have nothing, let him be sold in compensation for what he has stolen. | Якщо хто застане злодія, що підкопує, і вдарить його, так що він помре, то кров не ставиться в провину йому; |

| And if the thing stolen be left and be in his hand alive, whether ox or sheep, he shall restore them two-fold. | але якщо зійшло над ним сонце, то ставиться в провину йому кров. Той, хто вкрав, повинен заплатити; а якщо нема чим, то нехай продадуть його для сплати за вкрадене ним; |

| And if any one should feed down a field or a vineyard, and should send in his beast to feed down another field, he shall make compensation of his own field according to his produce; and if he shall have fed down the whole field, he shall pay for compensation the best of his own field and the best of his vineyard. | якщо [він буде спійманий і] вкрадене знайдеться в нього в руках живим, чи то віл, або осел, або вівця, нехай заплатить [за них] удвічі. |

| And if fire have gone forth and caught thorns, and should also set on fire threshing-floors or ears of corn or a field, he that kindled the fire shall make compensation. | Якщо хто потравить поле, або виноградник, пустивши худобу свою травити чуже поле, [дивлячись по плодах його нехай заплатить зі свого поля; а якщо потравить усе поле,] нехай відшкодує кращим з поля свого і кращим з виноградника свого. |

| And if any one give to his neighbour money or goods to keep, and they be stolen out of the man's house, if the thief be found, he shall repay double. | Якщо з’явиться вогонь і охопить терен і випалить копиці, або жниво, або поле, то повинен заплатити той, хто вчинив цю пожежу. |

| But if the thief be not found, the master of the house shall come forward before God, and shall swear that surely he has not wrought wickedly in regard of any part of his neighbour's deposit, | Якщо хто віддасть ближньому на збереження срібло або речі, і вони будуть украдені з дому його, то, якщо знайдеться злодій, нехай він заплатить удвічі; |

| according to every injury alleged, both concerning a calf, and an ass, and a sheep, and a garment, and every alleged loss, whatsoever in fact it may be,—the judgment of both shall proceed before God, and he that is convicted by God shall repay to his neighbour double. | а якщо не знайдеться злодій, нехай господар дому прийде до суддів [і заприсягнеться], що не простягав руки своєї на власність ближнього свого. |

| And if any one give to his neighbour to keep a calf or sheep or any beast, and it be wounded or die or be taken, and no one know, | Про всяку річ суперечливу, про вола, про осла, про вівцю, про одяг, про всяку річ загублену, про яку хто-небудь скаже, що вона його, справа обох повинна бути доведена до суддів: кого звинуватять судді, той заплатить ближньому своєму вдвічі. |

| an oath of God shall be between both, each swearing that he has surely not at all been guilty in the matter of his neighbour's deposit; and so his master shall hold him guiltless, and he shall not make compensation. | Якщо хто віддасть ближньому своєму осла, або вола, або вівцю, або яку іншу худобу на збереження, а він помре, або буде пошкоджений, або украдений, так що ніхто цього не побачить, — |

| And if it be stolen from him, he shall make compensation to the owner. | клятва перед Господом хай буде між обома в тім, що той, хто взяв, не простяг руки своєї на власність ближнього свого; і господар повинний прийняти, а той не буде платити; |

| And if it be seized of beasts, he shall bring him to witness the prey, and he shall not make compensation. | а якщо украдено буде у нього, то повинен заплатити господарю його; |

| And if any one borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be wounded or die or be carried away, and the owner of it be not with it, he shall make compensation. | якщо ж буде звіром розтерзаний, то нехай на доказ представить роздерте: за розідране він не платить. |

| But if the owner be with it, he shall not make compensation: but if it be a hired thing, there shall be a compensation to him instead of his hire. | Якщо хто позичить у ближнього свого худобу, і вона буде пошкоджена, або помре, а господаря його не було при ній, то повинен заплатити; |

|
| And if any one deceive a virgin that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her for a wife to himself. | якщо ж господар його був при ній, то не повинен платити; якщо вона взята у найми за гроші, то нехай і піде за ту ціну. |

| And if her father positively refuse, and will not consent to give her to him for a wife, he shall pay compensation to her father according to the amount of the dowry of virgins. | Якщо звабить хто дівчину незаручену і переспить з нею, нехай дасть їй віно [і візьме її] собі за дружину; |

| Ye shall not save the lives of sorcerers. | а якщо батько не погодиться [і не захоче] видати її за нього, нехай заплатить [батькові] стільки срібла, скільки належить на віно дівчатам. |

|
| Every one that lies with a beast ye shall surely put to death. | Ворожки не залишай у живих. |

|
| He that sacrifices to any gods but to the Lord alone, shall be destroyed by death. | Усякий скотоложник нехай буде відданий на смерть. |
|

|
| And ye shall not hurt a stranger, nor afflict him; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. | Той, хто приносить жертву богам, крім одного Господа, нехай буде знищений. |

|
| Ye shall hurt no widow or orphan. | Прибульця не утискуй і не пригноблюй його, тому що ви самі були прибульцями в землі Єгипетській. |

|
| And if ye should afflict them by ill-treatment, and they should cry aloud to me, I will surely hear their voice. | Ні вдови, ні сироти не утискуйте; |

| And I will be very angry, and will slay you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows and your children orphans. | якщо ж ти утиснеш, то, коли вони будуть волати до Мене, Я почую волання їх, |

| And if thou shouldest lend money to thy poor brother who is by thee, thou shalt not be hard upon him, thou shalt not exact usury of him. | і запалає гнів Мій, і уб’ю вас мечем, будуть дружини ваші вдовами і діти ваші сиротами. |

| And if thou take thy neighbour's garment for a pledge, thou shalt restore it to him before sunset. | Якщо даси гроші в борг бідному з народу Мого, то не пригноблюй його і не накладай на нього лихви. |

| For this is his clothing, this is the only covering of his nakedness; wherein shall he sleep? If then he shall cry to me, I will hearken to him, for I am merciful. | Якщо візьмеш у заставу одежу ближнього твого, то до заходу сонця поверни її, |

| Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor speak ill of the ruler of thy people. | тому що вона є єдиний покров у нього, вона — одіяння тіла його: в чому буде він спати? отже, коли він буде волати до Мене, Я почую, бо Я милосердий. |

| Thou shalt not keep back the first-fruits of thy threshing floor and press. The first-born of thy sons thou shalt give to me. | Суддів не лихослов і начальника в народі твоєму не паплюж. |

| So shalt thou do with thy calf and thy sheep and thine ass; seven days shall it be under the mother, and the eighth day thou shalt give it to me. | Не барися [приносити Мені] початки від току твого і від точила твого; віддавай Мені первістка із синів твоїх; |

|
| And ye shall be holy men to me; and ye shall not eat flesh taken of beasts, ye shall cast it to the dog. | те саме роби з волом твоїм і з вівцею твоєю [і з ослом твоїм]: сім днів нехай вони будуть біля матері своєї, а у восьмий день віддавай їх Мені. |
