| Господь є Бог ревнитель і месник; месник Господь і страшний у гніві: помщається Господь ворогам Своїм і не пощадить супротивників Своїх. | God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; the Lord avenges with wrath; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he cuts off his enemies. |

| Господь довготерпеливий і великий могутністю, і не залишає без покарання; у вихорі й у бурі хода Господа, хмара — пил від ніг Його. | The Lord is long-suffering, and his power is great, and the Lord will not hold any guiltless: his way is in destruction and in the whirlwind, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. |

| Заборонить Він морю, і воно висихає, і всі ріки вичерпуються; в’яне Васан і Кармил, і блякне цвіт на Ливані. | He threatens the sea, and dries it up, and exhausts all the rivers: the land of Basan, and Carmel are brought low, and the flourishing trees of Libanus have come to nought. |

| Гори трясуться перед Ним, і пагорби тануть, і земля коливається перед лицем Його, і вселенна і всі, що живуть у ній. | The mountains quake at him, and the hills are shaken, and the earth recoils at his presence, even the world, and all that dwell in it. |

| Перед обуренням Його хто встоїть? І хто стерпить полум’я гніву Його? Гнів Його розливається як вогонь; скелі розпадаються перед Ним. | Who shall stand before his anger? and who shall withstand in the anger of his wrath? his wrath brings to nought kingdoms, and the rocks are burst asunder by him. |

| Благий Господь, притулок у день скорботи, і знає тих, що надіються на Нього. | The Lord is good to them that wait on him in the day of affliction; and he knows them that reverence him. |
|

| Але повінню, що все потоплює, зруйнує дощенту Ниневію, і ворогів Його покриє морок. | But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end: darkness shall pursue those that rise up against him and his enemies. |
|

| Що замишляєте ви проти Господа? Він звершить знищення, і біда вже не повториться, | What do ye devise against the Lord? he will make a complete end: he will not take vengeance by affliction twice at the same time. |
|

| бо ті, що сплелися між собою, як терня, і напилися, як п’яниці, вони пожерті будуть зовсім, як суха солома. | For the enemy shall be laid bare even to the foundation, and shall be devoured as twisted yew, and as stubble fully dry. |
|

| З тебе вийшов той, хто задумав лихе проти Господа, хто склав раду нечестиву. | Out of thee shall proceed a device against the Lord, counselling evil things hostile to him. |
|

| Так говорить Господь: хоч вони безпечні і численні, але вони будуть посічені і зникнуть; а тебе, хоч Я обтяжував, більше не буду обтяжувати. | Thus saith the Lord who rules over many waters, Even thus shall they be sent away, and the report of thee shall not be heard any more. |

| І нині Я розіб’ю ярмо його, яке лежить на тобі, і пута твої розірву. | And now will I break his rod from off thee, and will burst thy bonds. |

| А про тебе, Ассуре, Господь визначив: не буде більше сімені з твоїм ім’ям; з дому бога твого знищу ідолів і кумирів; приготую тобі у ньому могилу, тому що ти будеш у ганьбі. | And the Lord shall give a command concerning thee; there shall no more of thy name be scattered: I will utterly destroy the graven images out of the house of thy god, and the molten images: I will make thy grave; for they are swift. |

| Ось, на горах — стопи благовісника, який сповіщає мир: святкуй, Юдеє, свята твої, виконуй обітниці твої, бо не буде більше проходити тобою нечестивий: він зовсім знищений. |
