| Старець — обраній господині і дітям її, яких я дійсно люблю, і не тільки я, а й усі, що пізнали істину, | The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not I only, but also all they that know the truth; |

| заради істини, що перебуває в нас і буде з нами повік. | for the truth’s sake which abideth in us, and it shall be with us forever: |

|
| Hехай буде з вами благодать, милість, мир від Бога Отця і від Господа Ісуса Христа, Сина Отчого, в істині й любові. | Grace, mercy, peace shall be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. |
|

|
| Я дуже зрадів, що знайшов між твоїми дітьми таких, що ходять в істині, як ми прийняли заповідь від Отця. | I rejoice greatly that I have found certain of thy children walking in truth, even as we received commandment from the Father. |
|

| І нині благаю тебе, господине, не як нову заповідь пишу тобі, а як ту, що ми маємо від початку, щоб ми любили один одного. | And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. |
|

| Любов же полягає в тому, щоб ми жили за Його заповідями. Це та заповідь, яку ви чули від початку, та щоб жили згідно з нею. | And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it. |

| Бо багато з тих, хто вводить в оману, увійшло в світ; вони не сповідують Ісуса Христа, Який прийшов у плоті: така людина є спокусник і антихрист. | For many deceivers are entered into the world, even they that confess not that Jesus Christ cometh in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. |

| Пильнуйте себе, щоб нам не загубити того, над чим ми трудились, але щоб одержати повну нагороду. | Look to yourselves, that we lose not the things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. |

| Кожен, хто переступає вчення Христове і не перебуває в Hьому, не має Бога; хто перебуває в ученні Христовому, має і Отця і Сина. | Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching of Christ, the same hath both the Father and the Son. |

| Хто приходить до вас і не приносить цього вчення, того не приймайте в дім і не вітайте його. | If anyone cometh unto you, and bringeth not this teaching, receive him not into your house, and give him no greeting: |

| Бо той, хто його вітає, бере участь у злих ділах його. | for he that giveth him greeting partaketh in his evil works. |

| Багато чого маю написати вам, але не хочу на папері чорнилами, а маю надію прийти до вас і говорити устами до уст, щоб радість ваша була повна. | Having many things to write unto you, I would not write them with paper and ink: but I hope to come unto you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full. |

| Вітають тебе діти сестри твоєї обраної. Амінь. | The children of thine elect sister salute thee. Amen. |
