Глава 1	Chapter 1

Павло апостол, обраний не людьми і не через людину, але Ісусом Христом і Богом Отцем, Який воскресив Його з мертвих,	Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),

і вся братія, яка зі мною, — Церквам Галатійським:	and all the brethren that are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

благодать вам і мир від Бога Отця і Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,	Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,

Який віддав Себе Самого за гріхи наші, щоб визволити нас від сучасного лукавого віку, з волі Бога і Отця нашого;	who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

Йому і слава на віки віків. Амінь.	to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Дивуюся, що від того, хто покликав вас благодаттю Христовою, ви так скоро переходите до іншого благовістування,	I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;

яке, зрештою, не інше, а тільки є люди, що бентежать вас і хочуть спотворити благовістування Христове.	which is not another gospel: only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Та коли б навіть ми або ангел з неба став благовістити вам не те, що ми вам благовістили, нехай буде анафема.	But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.

Як ми раніше казали, так і тепер ще говорю: хто благовістить вам не те, що ви прийняли, нехай буде анафема.	As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.

Чи в людей я шукаю тепер благовоління, чи у Бога? Чи людям я прагну догоджати? Якби я і тепер догоджав людям, не був би рабом Христовим.	For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? for if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.

Сповіщаю ж вам, браття, що Євангеліє, яке я благовістив, не є людське;	But I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.

бо я прийняв його і навчився не від людини, а через одкровення Ісуса Христа.	For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.

Ви чули про мій попередній спосіб життя в юдействі, що я жорстоко гнав Церкву Божу та руйнував її	For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havoc of it:

і перевершував у юдействі багатьох ровесників моїх у роді моєму, будучи надмірним ревнителем батьківських моїх передань.	and I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of mine own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

Коли ж Бог, Який обрав мене від утроби матері моєї і покликав благодаттю Своєю, благоволив	But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, even from my mother’s womb, and called me through his grace,

відкрити в мені Сина Свого, щоб я благовістив Його язичникам, — я не став тоді ж радитися з плоттю і кров’ю	to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; straightaway I conferred not with flesh and blood:

і не пішов у Єрусалим до тих, що стали апостолами раніше за мене, а пішов до Аравії і знову повернувся в Дамаск.	neither went I up to Jerusalem to them that were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.

Потім‚ через три роки‚ пішов я до Єрусалима побачити Петра і пробув у нього днів п’ятнадцять.	Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and tarried with him fifteen days.

Іншого з апостолів не бачив нікого, тільки Якова, брата Господнього.	But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord’s brother.

А те, що пишу вам, як перед Богом, не обманюю.	Now touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

Потім я пішов до країн Сирії та Киликії.	Then I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

Церквам Христовим в Юдеї я особисто не був відомий,	And I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judea which were in Christ:

вони лише чули, що той, хто гнав їх колись, тепер благовістить віру, яку раніш знищував, —	but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havoc;

і славили Бога за мене.	and they glorified God in me.
Глава 2	Chapter 2

1	1
Потім, через чотирнадцять років, я знову пішов до Єрусалима з Варнавою, взявши з собою і Тита.	Then after the space of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.

Пішов же за одкровенням і виклав їм, і особливо знатнішим, благовістування, яке я проповідую язичникам, чи, бува, не даремно я труджуся або трудився.	And I went up by revelation; and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles but privately before them who were of repute, lest by any means I should be running, or had run, in vain.

Але вони й Тита, який був зі мною, хоч і елліна, не примушували обрізатися,	But not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

а перед лжебраттями, котрі потай прийшли підглядати нашу свободу, яку ми маємо в Христі Ісусі, щоб підкорити нас,	and that because of the false brethren privily brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

ми ні в чому не поступилися і не скорились, щоб істина благовістування зберігалась у вас.	to whom we gave place in the way of subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

І у знаменитих будь-чим, якими б вони не були колись, для мене немає нічого особливого. Бог на особу не вважає. І мені знамениті нічого не додали.	But from those who were reputed to be somewhat (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth not man’s person)—they, I say, who were of repute imparted nothing to me:

Hавпаки, побачивши, що мені довірено благовістя серед необрізаних, як Петрові серед обрізаних	but contrariwise, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the gospel of the circumcision

і довідавшись про благодать, дану мені, Яків, Кифа та Іоан, визнані стовпи, подали мені руку єднання, щоб нам іти до язичників, а їм до обрізаних,	and when they perceived the grace that was given unto me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision;

тільки щоб ми пам’ятали про вбогих, що я і намагався виконувати ретельно.	only they would that we should remember the poor; which very thing I was also zealous to do.

Коли ж прийшов Петро до Антиохії, то я особисто протистав йому, бо він заслуговував на нарікання.	But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to the face, because he stood condemned.

Бо до прибуття деяких від Якова він їв разом із язичниками; а коли ті прийшли, він почав таїтися та відсторонятися, побоюючись обрізаних.	For before that certain came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing them that were of the circumcision.

Разом з ним лицемірили й інші юдеї, так що навіть Варнава пристав до лицемірства їхнього.	And the rest of the Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation.

А коли я побачив, що вони діють неправдиво щодо істини євангельської, я сказав Петрові перед усіма: якщо ти, будучи юдеєм, живеш по-язичеськи, а не по-юдейськи, то навіщо примушуєш язичників жити по-юдейськи?	But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest as do the Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Ми за природою юдеї, а не грішники з язичників.	We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

Однак, дізнавшись, що людина виправдовується не ділами закону, а тільки вірою в Ісуса Христа, і ми увірували в Христа Ісуса, щоб виправдатися вірою в Христа Ісуса, а не ділами закону; бо ділами закону не виправдається ніяка плоть.	knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Якщо ж ми, шукаючи виправдання у Христі, самі виявилися грішниками, то невже Христос є служитель гріха? Аж ніяк!	But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a minister of sin? God forbid.

Бо якщо я знову будую те, що зруйнував, то сам себе роблю злочинцем.	For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a transgressor.
19	19
Законом я вмер для закону, щоб жити для Бога. Я співрозп’явся Христові,	For I through the law died unto the law, that I might live unto God.
20	20
і вже не я живу, а живе в мені Христос. А що нині живу в плоті, то вірою живу в Сина Божого, Який полюбив мене і віддав Себе за мене.	I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

Hе відкидаю благодаті Божої; а якщо виправдання через закон, то Христос даремно вмер.	I do not make void the grace of God: for if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nought.
Глава 3	Chapter 3

1	1
О нерозумні галати! Хто звабив вас не підкорятися істинi; вас, перед очима яких зображений був Христос, ніби у вас розп’ятий?	O foolish Galatians, who did bewitch you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you crucified?
2	2
Одне тільки хочу знати від вас: чи ділами закону ви прийняли Духа, чи через навчання у вірі?	This only would I learn from you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3	3
Hевже ви такі нерозумні, що, почавши духом, закінчуєте тепер плоттю?	Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now perfected in the flesh?
4	4
Так багато перетерпіли ви і невже даремно? О, коли б тільки даремно!	Did ye suffer so many things in vain? if it be indeed in vain.

Той, Хто подає вам Духа і робить між вами чудеса, творить це ділами закону чи через навчання у вірі?	He therefore that supplieth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Так Авраам повірив Богові, і це поставилося йому в праведність.	Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
7	7
Отож знайте, що ті, хто вірує, є сини Авраамові.	Know therefore that they that are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham.
8	8
І Писання, передбачаючи, що через віру Бог виправдає язичників, передвістило Авраамові: «У тобі благословляться всі народи».	And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed.
9	9
Отже, ті‚ що від віри‚ благословляться з вірним Авраамом,	So then they that are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
10	10
а всі ті, що утверджуються на ділах закону, перебувають під прокляттям. Бо написано: «Проклятий усякий, хто не виконує постійно всього, що написано в книзі закону».	For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.

А що законом ніхто не виправдається перед Богом, це зрозуміло, бо праведний вірою живий буде.	Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith;
12	12
Закон не від віри; але хто виконує його, той живий буде ним.	and the law is not of faith; but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13	13
Христос відкупив нас від прокляття закону, ставши за нас прокляттям (бо написано: «Проклятий усякий, хто висить на деревi»)‚	Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:
14	14
щоб благословення Авраамове через Христа Ісуса поширилося на язичників, щоб нам вірою прийняти обітницю Духа.	that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15	15
Браття! Кажу за розсудом людським: навіть затвердженого людиною заповіту ніхто не скасовує і не додає до нього нічого.	Brethren, I speak after the manner of men: Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet when it hath been confirmed, no one maketh it void, or addeth thereto.
16	16
Але Авраамові було дано обітниці і сімені його. Hе казано «і нащадкам», ніби про багатьох, а як про одного: і нащадкові твоєму, Який є Христос.	Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Я говорю про те, що заповіту про Христа, раніш утвердженого Богом, закон, даний через чотириста тридцять років, не скасовує так, щоб обітниця втратила силу.	Now this I say: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God to Christ, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, doth not disannul, so as to make the promise of none effect.

Бо якщо за законом спадщина, то вже не за обітницею; але Авраамові Бог дарував її за обітницею.	For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise: but God hath granted it to Abraham by promise.
19	19
Для чого ж тоді закон? Він був даний пізніше заради злочинів, аж доки прийде нащадок, якому належить обітниця; і вчинений він був через ангелів, рукою посередника.	What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

Але посередника при одному не буває, а Бог один.	Now a mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one.
21	21
Отже, хіба закон заперечує обітниці Божі? Аж ніяк! Бо коли б даний закон міг животворити, тоді воістину праведність була б від закону;	Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law.
22	22
але Писання всіх замкнуло під гріхом, щоб обітницю дано було віруючим за їхньою вірою в Ісуса Христа.	But the scripture shut up all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23	23
А до пришестя віри ми були замкнені під охороною закону, до того часу, як належало відкритися вірі.	But before faith came, we were kept in ward under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterward be revealed.
24	24
Тому закон був вихователем, який вів нас до Христа, щоб нам виправдатися вірою;	So that the law is become our tutor to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25	25
коли ж прийшла віра, ми вже не під вихователем.	But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a tutor.
26	26
Бо всі ви — сини Божі через віру в Христа Ісуса;	For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus.
27	27
усі ви, що в Христа хрестилися, у Христа одяглися.	For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.
28	28
Hема вже ні юдея, ні язичника; нема ні раба, ні вільного; нема ні чоловічої статі, ні жіночої; бо всі ви — одно в Христі Ісусі.	There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus.

А коли ви Христові, то ви нащадки Авраамові і за обітницею спадкоємці.	And if ye are Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to promise.
Глава 4	Chapter 4

1	1
Ще скажу: доки спадкоємець — дитина, він нічим не відрізняється від раба, хоч і є господарем усього‚	But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a bondservant though he is lord of all;

а перебуває під опікунами і домоправителями до визначеного батьком строку.	but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed of the father.

Так і ми, доки були дітьми, поневолені були стихіями світу;	So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the rudiments of the world:

коли ж настала повнота часу, послав Бог Сина Свого (Єдинородного), котрий народився від жони, був під законом,	but when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5	5
щоб викупити підзаконних, щоб нам прийняти всиновлення.	that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6	6
А оскільки ви — сини, то послав Бог Духа Сина Свого в серця ваші, Який викликує: «Авва, Отче!»	And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7	7
Тому ти вже не раб, а син, а якщо син, то і спадкоємець Божий через Ісуса Христа.	So that thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
8	8
Але тоді, не знавши Бога, ви служили богам, які по суті не є боги.	Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them that by nature are no gods:
9	9
Тепер же, пізнавши Бога, або, краще, одержавши пізнання від Бога, навіщо повертаєтеся знову до немічних та вбогих стихій і хочете ще знову себе поневолити їм?	but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?

Ви спостерігаєте дні, місяці, пори і роки.	Ye observe days, and months, and seasons, and years.
11	11
Боюся за вас, чи не даремно я трудився у вас.	I am afraid of you, lest by any means I have bestowed labor upon you in vain.
12	12
Прошу вас, браття, будьте, як я, бо і я, як ви. Ви нічим не образили мене.	I beseech you, brethren, become as I am, for I also am become as ye are. Ye did me no wrong:
13	13
Знаєте, що хоч я і в немочі плоті благовістив вам у перший раз,	but ye know that because of an infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you the first time:
14	14
але ви не зневажили і не відцуралися спокуси моєї в плоті моїй, а прийняли мене, як ангела Божого, як Христа Ісуса.	and my trial that was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but ye received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
15	15
Яке ж було блаженство ваше! Свідчу вам, якби це було можливо, ви вирвали б очі свої і віддали мені.	What then was the gratulation of yourselves? for I bear you witness, that, if possible, ye would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.

Hевже ж я став ворогом вашим, говорячи істину?	So then am I become your enemy, by telling you the truth?

Пильнують про вас нещиро, хочуть відлучити вас, щоб ви дбали про них.	They zealously seek you in no good way; nay, they desire to shut us out, that ye may seek them.
18	18
Добре пильнувати в доброму завжди, а не лише в моїй присутності у вас.	But it is good to be zealously sought in a good matter at all times, and not only when I am present with you.
19	19
Діти мої, для яких я знову в муках народження, доки не відобразиться у вас Христос!	My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you—
20	20
Хотів би тепер бути у вас і змінити голос мій, бо я не розумію вас.	but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone; for I am perplexed about you.
21	21
Скажіть же мені ви, які бажаєте бути під законом: хіба ви не слухаєте закону?	Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
22	22
Бо написано: «Авраам мав двох синів: одного від рабині, а другого від вільної».	For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.
23	23
Але той, хто від рабині, народився за плоттю, а той, хто від вільної‚ — за обітницею.	Howbeit the son by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the son by the freewoman is born through the promise.
24	24
У цьому є іносказання. Це два завіти: один від гори Синайської, що народжує в рабство, це є Агар,	Which things contain an allegory: for these women are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.
25	25
бо Агар означає гору Синай в Аравії і відповідає нинішньому Єрусалиму, бо він зі своїми дітьми перебуває в рабствi;	For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: and she is in bondage with her children.

а вишній Єрусалим — вільний: він мати всім нам.	But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Бо написано: «Звеселися, неплідна, яка не родила; вигукни і виголоси, яка не мучилася родами; бо в одинокої значно більше дітей, ніж у тієї, що має чоловіка».	For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.

Ми, браття, діти обітниці за Ісааком.	Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
29	29
Але як тоді той, який народився за плоттю, переслідував народженого за духом, так і нині.	But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, so also it is now.
30	30
Що ж говорить Писання? «Вижени рабиню разом із сином її, бо не може син рабині бути спадкоємцем разом із сином вільної».	Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.
31	31
Отже, браття, ми діти не рабині, а вільної.	So then, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.
Глава 5	Chapter 5

1	1
Отже, стійте у свободі, яку дарував нам Христос, і не підпадайте знову під ярмо рабства.	Stand fast therefore in the freedom wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.
2	2
Ось я, Павло, кажу вам: якщо ви обрізуєтесь, не буде вам ніякої користі від Христа.	Behold, I Paul say unto you, that, if ye receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
3	3
Знову я свідчу кожному чоловікові, який обрізується, що він повинен виконувати весь закон.	Yea, I testify again to every man that receiveth circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Ви, що виправдовуєтеся законом, залишилися без Христа, відпали від благодаті,	Ye are severed from Christ, ye who would be justified by the law; ye are fallen away from grace.
5	5
а ми духом чекаємо і сподіваємося праведности через віру.	For we through the Spirit by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
6	6
Бо в Христі Ісусі не має сили ні обрізання, ні необрізання, а віра, яка діє любов’ю.	For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith working through love.
7	7
Ви йшли добре; хто зупинив вас, щоб ви не підкорялись істині?	Ye were running well; who hindered you that ye should not obey the truth?
8	8
Таке переконання не від Того, Хто покликав вас.	This persuasion came not of him that calleth you.
9	9
Мала закваска все тісто заквашує.	A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10	10
Я певен за вас у Господі, що ви не будете мислити інакше; а той, хто бентежить вас, хто б він не був, понесе на собі осудження.	I have confidence to you-ward in the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11	11
Браття! За що ж переслідують мене, якщо я і тепер проповідую обрізання? Тоді припинилася б спокуса хреста.	But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? then hath the stumbling block of the cross been done away.
12	12
О, якби були видалені ті, що підбурюють вас!	I would that they that unsettle you would even go beyond circumcision.

До свободи ви покликані, браття, тільки щоб свобода ваша не стала приводом для догоджання плоті, але любов’ю служіть один одному.	For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

Бо весь закон в одному слові міститься: «Люби ближнього твого, як самого себе».	For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
15	15
Коли ж ви один одного гризете і з’їдаєте, стережіться, щоб не знищили ви один одного!	But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Я говорю: духом живіть, і ви не будете чинити похоті плотської,	But I say, Walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

бо плоть бажає противного духові, а дух — противного плоті: вони одне одному противляться, так що ви не те робите, чого хотіли б.	For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would.
18	18
Якщо ж дух вас провадить, то ви не під законом.	But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19	19
Діла плотські явні: це — перелюб, блуд, нечистота, безсоромність,	Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

ідолослужіння, чародійство, ворожнеча, чвари, заздрість, гнів, розбрат, незгоди‚ (спокуси), єресі,	idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties,
21	21
ненависть, убивство, пияцтво, безчинство і таке інше. Попереджаю вас, як і раніше попереджав, що ті, хто так роблять, Царства Божого не успадкують.	envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did also forewarn you, that they who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Плід же духа є: любов, радість, мир, довготерпіння, доброта, милосердя, віра,	But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

лагідність, стриманість. Hа таких нема закону.	meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.
24	24
Але ті, що Христові є‚ плоть свою розп’яли з пристрастями і похотями.	And they that are of Christ have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.
25	25
Якщо ми живемо духом, то за духом повинні й діяти.	If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.
26	26
Hе будьмо марнославні, один одного дратувати, один одному заздрити.	Let us not become vainglorious, provoking one another, envying one another.
Глава 6	Chapter 6

1	1
Браття! Якщо і впаде людина в якийсь гріх, ви, духовні, виправляйте такого в дусі лагідности, пильнуючи кожний себе, щоб і ти не був спокушений.	Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2	2
Hосіть тягарі один одного і так здійсните закон Христа.	Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3	3
Бо хто вважає себе чимось, коли він є ніщо, той обманює себе.	For if a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4	4
Кожний нехай випробовує своє діло і тоді матиме похвалу тільки в собі, а не в іншому,	But let each man prove his own work, and then shall he have his glorying in regard of himself alone, and not of his neighbor.
5	5
бо кожний свій тягар понесе.	For each man shall bear his own load.
6	6
Той, хто навчається слова, нехай ділиться з наставником усяким добром.	But let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7	7
Hе обманюйтесь: Бог зневаженим не буває. Що посіє людина, те й пожне.	Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8	8
Хто сіє для плоті своєї, від плоті пожне тління, а хто сіє для духа, від духа пожне життя вічне.	For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.
9	9
Роблячи добро, не будемо сумувати, бо у свій час пожнемо, якщо не ослабнемо.	And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10	10
Отже, доки є час, будемо робити добро всім, а найбільше ж своїм за вірою.	So then, as we have opportunity, let us work that which is good toward all men, and especially toward them that are of the household of the faith.
11	11
Бачите, як багато я написав вам власною рукою.	See with how large letters I write unto you with mine own hand.
12	12
Ті, які бажають хвалитися плоттю, примушують вас обрізуватися тільки для того, щоб їх не гнали за хрест Христів,	As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13	13
бо й самі ті, що обрізуються, не дотримуються закону, але хочуть, щоб ви обрізувалися, аби похвалитися вашою плоттю.	For not even they who have been circumcised do themselves keep the law; but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14	14
А я не бажаю хвалитися, хіба тільки хрестом Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, Яким для мене світ розп’ятий і я для світу.	But far be it from me to glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world hath been crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15	15
Бо у Христі Ісусі не має ваги ні обрізання, ні необрізання, а нове створіння.	For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16	16
Тим, які живуть за цим правилом, мир їм і милість та Ізраїлеві Божому.	And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace be upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
17	17
А втім, ніхто не обтяжуй мене: бо я ношу рани Господа Ісуса на тілі моїм.	Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear branded on my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18	18
Благодать Господа нашого Ісуса Христа з духом вашим, браття! Амінь.	The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.
