Глава 1	Chapter 1

Павло, з волі Божої апостол Ісуса Христа, святим і вірним у Христі Ісусі, які перебувають в Ефесі:	Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to the saints that are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:

благодать вам і мир від Бога Отця нашого і Господа Ісуса Христа.	Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Благословенний Бог і Отець Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, Який благословив нас у Христі всяким духовним благословенням у небесах,	Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ:

бо Він обрав нас у Ньому раніше створення світу, щоб ми були святі й непорочні перед Hим у любові,	even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:

наперед призначивши усиновити нас Собі через Ісуса Христа, за благоволінням Своєї волі,	having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

на похвалу слави благодаті Своєї, якою Він обдарував нас в Улюбленому,	to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the Beloved:

в Якому ми маємо відкуплення Кров’ю Його, прощення гріхів через багатство благодаті Його,	in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

яку Він щедро дарував нам у всякій премудрості і розумінні,	which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
9	9
відкривши нам таїну волі Своєї, за Своїм благоволінням, яке Він раніш поклав у Hьому,	making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

в установлення повноти часів, щоб усе небесне і земне з’єднати під главою Христом.	unto a dispensation of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say,

У Hьому ми і стали спадкоємцями, бувши для того наперед призначеними за визначенням Того, Хто все творить за радою волі Своєї,	in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;

щоб бути нам, які раніш уповали на Христа, на похвалу слави Його.	to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:

У Hьому і ви, почувши слово істини, благовістя вашого спасіння, та увірувавши в Hього, були відзначені обіцяним Святим Духом,	in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14	14
Який є запорукою спадщини нашої для відкуплення надбання Його, на похвалу слави Його.	who is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15	15
Тому і я, почувши про вашу віру в Христа Ісуса і про любов до всіх святих,	For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,
16	16
безперестанно дякую за вас Богові, згадуючи вас у молитвах моїх,	cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17	17
щоб Бог Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, Отець слави, дав вам Духа премудрості й одкровення для пізнання Його	that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;
18	18
і просвітив очі серця вашого, щоб ви зрозуміли, в чому полягає надія на Його покликання‚ і яке багатство славної спадщини Його для святих,	having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19	19
і яка безмірна велич могутности Його в нас, що вірують за діянням превеликої сили Його,	and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might
20	20
якою Він діяв у Христі, воскресивши Його з мертвих і посадивши праворуч Себе на небесах,	which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and he made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,
21	21
вище від усякого начальства‚ і влади, і сили, і панування, і всякого імені, названого не тільки в цьому віці, але і в майбутньому,	far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

і все підкорив під ноги Йому, і поставив Його вище за все, главою Церкви,	and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,
23	23
яка є тіло Його, повнота Того, Хто наповнює все у всьому.	which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.
Глава 2	Chapter 2

1	1
І вас, мертвих через злочини і гріхи ваші,	And you did he make alive, when ye were dead in trespasses and sins,
2	2
в яких ви колись жили за звичаями світу цього, з волі князя піднебесного, духа, що діє тепер в синах противлення,	wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;
3	3
між якими і ми всі жили колись за нашими плотськими похотями, виконуючи бажання плоті й помислів, та були за природою дітьми гніву, як і інші,	among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest—

Бог, багатий милістю з великої Своєї любови, якою нас полюбив,	but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5	5
і нас, мертвих за злочини, оживотворив із Христом, — благодаттю ви спасені, —	even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),
6	6
і воскресив із Hим, і посадив на небесах у Христі Ісусі,	and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:
7	7
щоб у майбутніх віках явити безмірне багатство благодаті Своєї в благості до нас у Христі Ісусі.	that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:
8	8
Бо благодаттю ви спасені через віру, і це не від вас, це — Божий дар:	for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9	9
не через діла, щоб ніхто не хвалився.	not of works, that no man should glory.
10	10
Бо ми — Його творіння, створені у Христі Ісусі на добрі діла, які Бог наперед приготував‚ щоб ми виконували.	For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

Отже, пам’ятайте, що ви, колись язичники плоттю, яких називали необрізаними так звані обрізані плотським обрізанням, рукотворним,	Wherefore remember that ye, once Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;

що ви були в той час без Христа відчуженими від громади ізраїльської, чужі завітам обітниці, не мали надії і були безбожниками в світі,	that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

а тепер у Христі ви, що колись були далекими, стали близькими Кров’ю Христовою.	But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.
14	14
Бо Він є мир наш, Який створив з обох одне і зруйнував перепону, яка стояла посередині,	For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,
15	15
скасувавши ворожнечу плоттю Своєю, а закон заповідей вченням, щоб з двох створити в Собі Самому одну нову людину, вчинивши мир,	having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace;
16	16
і в єдиному тілі примирити обох із Богом хрестом, убивши ворожнечу на ньому.	and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17	17
І, прийшовши, благовістив мир вам, далеким і близьким,	and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and to them that were nigh:
18	18
бо через Hього і ті й інші маємо доступ до Отця в одному Духові.	for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.
19	19
Отже, ви вже не чужі і не пришельці, а співгромадяни святим і свої Богові,	So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
20	20
утверджені на основі апостолів і пророків, маючи наріжним каменем Самого Ісуса Христа,	being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone;
21	21
на Якому вся будівля, складаючись злагоджено, зростає в святий храм у Господі,	in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;
22	22
на якому і ви будуєтесь Духом на оселю Божу.	in whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
Глава 3	Chapter 3

1	1
Задля цього я, Павло, став в’язнем Ісуса Христа за вас‚ язичників.	For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus in behalf of you Gentiles—

Як ви чули про діяння благодаті Божої, даної мені для вас,	if so be that ye have heard of the dispensation of that grace of God which was given me to you-ward;
3	3
бо одкровенням мені провіщена таїна (про що я раніш написав вам коротко),	how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in few words,
4	4
тому ви, читаючи, можете збагнути моє розуміння таїни Христової,	whereby, when ye read, ye can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;
5	5
яка була провіщена людським синам минулих поколінь, а нині відкрита святим апостолам Його і пророкам Духом Святим,	which in other generations was not made known unto the sons of men, as it hath now been revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;
6	6
щоб і язичникам бути співспадкоємцями, які становлять одне тіло, і співучасниками обітниці Його у Христі Ісусі через благовістування,	to wit, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ through the gospel,
7	7
служителем якого був і я за даром благодаті Божої, даної мені діянням сили Його.	whereof I became a minister, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.

Мені, найменшому з усіх святих, дано благодать цю — благовістити язичникам недосліджуване багатство Христове	Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9	9
і відкрити всім, у чому полягає будівництво таємниці, споконвіку утаєної в Бозі, Який усе створив Ісусом Христом,	and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;

щоб нині стала відомою через Церкву начальствам і владам на небесах різноманітна премудрість Божа,	to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11	11
за передвічним призначенням, яке Він здійснив у Христі Ісусі, Господі нашому,	according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
12	12
в Якому ми маємо дерзновення і надійний доступ через віру в Hього.	in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.
13	13
А тому благаю вас не сумувати з приводу моїх заради вас скорбот, бо то є ваша слава.	Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.
14	14
Для цього я схиляю коліна свої перед Отцем Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,	For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15	15
від Якого іменується всякий рід на небесах і на землі,	from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
16	16
щоб дав вам, за багатством слави Своєї, міцно утвердитися Духом Його у внутрішньому чоловікові,	that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;
17	17
вірою вселитися Христові в серця ваші,	that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
18	18
щоб ви, вкорінені й утверджені в любові, могли зрозуміти з усіма святими, що є ширина‚ і довжина, і глибина, і висота,	to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,
19	19
і зрозуміти любов Христову, яка перевищує розуміння, щоб вам сповнитися всією повнотою Божою.	and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fullness of God.
20	20
А тому, Хто силою, що діє в нас, може створити незрівнянно більше за те, чого ми просимо або про що помишляємо,	Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21	21
слава в Церкві у Христі Ісусі і в усі роди повік. Амінь.	unto him be the glory in the church in Christ Jesus unto all generations forever and ever. Amen.
Глава 4	Chapter 4

1	1
Отже, я, в’язень ради Господа, благаю вас поводитися гідно звання, до якого ви покликані,	I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
2	2
з усякою смиренномудрістю й лагідністю та довготерпінням, терплячи один одного з любов’ю,	with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;
3	3
прагнучи зберігати єдність духу в союзі миру.	giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4	4
Одне тіло й один дух, як ви й покликані в одній надії покликання вашого;	There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
5	5
один Господь, одна віра, одне хрещення,	one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6	6
один Бог і Отець усіх, Який над усіма, і через усіх, і в усіх нас.	one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.
7	7
Кожному ж із нас дана благодать у міру дару Христового.	But unto each one of us was grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8	8
Тому й сказано: «Піднявшись на висоту, полонив полон і дав дари людям».	Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
9	9
А «піднявшись» що означає, як не те, що Він і сходив раніше в пекельні місця землі?	(Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10	10
Хто зійшов, Той же і піднявся вище всіх небес, щоб наповнити все.	He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11	11
І Він настановив одних апостолами, інших пророками, інших євангелістами, інших пастирями та вчителями,	And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12	12
на довершення святих, на діло служіння, для створення Тіла Христового,	for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
13	13
аж доки всі прийдемо до єдности віри й пізнання Сина Божого, в мужа досконалого, до міри зростання в нас повноти Христової;	till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a full-grown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14	14
щоб ми не були більше дітьми, які вагаються і захоплюються всяким вітром учення за людським лукавством і підступами хитрого зваблювання,	that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
15	15
а істинною любов’ю всі зростали в Того, Який є глава Христос,	but speaking truth in love, may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ;
16	16
з Якого все тіло, що складається і з’єднується всякими зв’язками, що взаємно скріплюються, при дії в свою чергу кожного члена, одержує приріст для створення самого себе в любові.	from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.

Тому я кажу і заклинаю Господом, щоб ви більше не робили так, як роблять інші народи через суєтність розуму свого,	This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18	18
будучи потьмарені в розумі, відчужені від життя Божого, через їхнє неуцтво та жорстокість серця їхнього.	being darkened in their understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;
19	19
Вони, дійшовши до бездушности, віддалися розпусті так, що чинять усяку нечистоту з ненаситністю.	who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20	20
Але ви не так пізнали Христа;	But ye did not so learn Christ;
21	21
тому що ви чули про Hього і в Hьому навчились, — бо істина в Ісусі, —	if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
22	22
відкинути колишній спосіб життя старої людини, яка зотліває в спокусливих похотях,	that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;
23	23
а обновитися духом розуму вашого	and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24	24
і одягнутися в нову людину, створену за Богом, в праведності і святості істини.	and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
25	25
Тому, відкинувши неправду, говоріть правду кожний ближньому своєму, бо ми члени один одному.	Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.
26	26
Гніваючись, не грішіть: нехай сонце не заходить у гніві вашому;	Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27	27
і не давайте місця дияволові.	neither give place to the devil.
28	28
Хто крав, більше не кради, а краще працюй, роблячи своїми руками корисне, щоб було з чого подавати тому, хто у злиднях.	Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.

Hіяке гниле слово нехай не виходить з уст ваших, а тільки добре для навчання у вірі, щоб воно давало благодать тим, що слухають.	Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.

І не ображайте Святого Духа Божого, яким покладено на вас печать у день відкуплення.	And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
31	31
Усяке роздратування‚ і лютість, і гнів, і крик, і лихослів’я з усякою злобою нехай будуть знищені у вас;	Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:
32	32
а будьте один до одного добрими, милосердними, прощайте один одному, як і Бог у Христі простив вам.	and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave us.
Глава 5	Chapter 5

1	1
Отже, наслідуйте Бога, як діти улюблені,	Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;
2	2
і живіть у любові, як і Христос полюбив нас і віддав Себе за нас у приношення і жертву Богові, на пахощі приємні.	and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.
3	3
А блуд і всяка нечистота та користолюбство не повинні навіть згадуватися у вас, як личить святим.	But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
4	4
Також лихослів’я, і марнослів’я, і кощунство не пристойні вам, а, навпаки, подяка;	nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, things that are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.
5	5
бо знайте, що ніякий блудник‚ чи нечистий, чи користолюбець, який є ідолослужителем, не має спадку в Царстві Христа і Бога.	For this ye know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Hехай ніхто не зваблює вас марними словами, бо за це приходить гнів Божий на синів непокірних;	Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.
7	7
отже, не будьте їхніми спільниками.	Be not ye therefore partakers with them;
8	8
Ви були колись темрявою, а тепер — світло в Господі: робіть, як діти світла,	for ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light
9	9
бо плід Духа є у всякій доброті, праведності та істині.	(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10	10
Випробовуйте, що є угодне Богові,	proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
11	11
і не беріть участи в неплідних ділах темряви, але викривайте.	and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;
12	12
Бо про те, що вони роблять таємно, соромно і говорити.	for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.
13	13
Все ж те, що викривається, стає явним від світла, бо все, що стає явним, є світло.	But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.
14	14
Тому сказано: «Встань, сплячий, і воскресни з мертвих, і освітить тебе Христос».	Wherefore he saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.
15	15
Отже, глядіть, робіть обережно, не як нерозумні, а як мудрі,	See then that ye walk carefully, not as unwise, but as wise;
16	16
цінуючи час, бо дні лукаві,	redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17	17
отже, не будьте нерозсудливі, а пізнавайте, що є воля Божа.	Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18	18
І не впивайтеся вином, від якого буває розпуста; а наповнюйтеся Духом,	And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;
19	19
повчаючи самі себе псалмами та славословленнями і піснеспівами духовними, співаючи і прославляючи в серцях ваших Господа,	speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
20	20
дякуючи завжди за все Богові й Отцеві, в ім’я Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,	giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
21	21
підкоряючись один одному в страху Божому.	subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22	22
Жінки, коріться своїм чоловікам, як Господеві,	Wives, be in subjection unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23	23
бо чоловік є голова жінки, як і Христос глава Церкви, і Він же Спаситель тіла.	For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, and he is the savior of the body.
24	24
Але як Церква підкоряється Христу, так і жінки своїм чоловікам у всьому.	But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
25	25
Чоловіки, любіть своїх жінок, як і Христос полюбив Церкву і віддав Себе за неї,	Husbands, love your own wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
26	26
щоб освятити її, очистивши водяною купіллю через слова;	that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
27	27
щоб поставити її перед Собою славною Церквою, яка не має плями‚ чи вади, чи чогось подібного, але щоб вона була свята і непорочна.	that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28	28
Так повинні чоловіки любити своїх жінок, як свої тіла: хто любить свою жінку, любить самого себе.	So ought husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:

Бо ніхто ніколи не мав ненависти до своєї плоті, а годує і гріє її, як і Господь Церкву,	for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord also the church;
30	30
бо ми члени тіла Його, від плоті Його і від кісток Його.	because we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31	31
Тому залишить чоловік батька свого і матір і пристане до жінки своєї‚ і будуть двоє одна плоть.	For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.

Тайна ця велика; я говорю щодо Христа і Церкви.	This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.

Отже, кожен із вас нехай любить свою жінку, як самого себе; а жінка нехай боїться свого чоловіка.	Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.
Глава 6	Chapter 6

1	1
Діти, слухайтеся своїх батьків у Господі, бо цього вимагає справедливість.	Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

«Шануй батька твого і матір» — це перша заповідь з обітницею:	Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise),

«щоб тобі було добре і щоб був ти довголітнім на землi».	that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

І ви, батьки, не роздратовуйте дітей ваших, а виховуйте їх у вченні і наставлянні Господньому.	And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.

Раби, слухайтеся господарів своїх у плоті зі страхом і трепетом, у простоті серця вашого, як Христа,	Servants, be obedient unto them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6	6
не з показною тільки прислужливістю, як чоловікоугодники, а як раби Христові, виконуючи волю Божу від душі.	not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

Служіть щиро, як Господу, а не як людям,	with good will doing service, as unto the Lord, and not unto men:
8	8
знаючи, що кожен одержить від Господа в міру добра, яке він зробив, чи раб, чи вільний.	knowing that whatsoever good thing each one doeth, the same shall he receive again from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9	9
І ви, господарі, поводьтеся з ними так само, стримуючи суворість, знаючи, що і над вами самими і над ними є на небесах Господь, у Якого немає упереджености.	And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that the Master of you yourselves also is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

Hарешті, браття мої, зміцнюйтесь Господом і могутністю сили Його.	Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.

Одягніться в повну зброю Божу, щоб вам можна було стати проти хитрощів диявольських,	Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12	12
бо наша боротьба не проти крови і плоті, а проти начальства, проти влади, проти світоправителів темряви віку цього, проти духів злоби піднебесних.	For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this world, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Для цього прийміть повну зброю Божу, щоб ви змогли протистояти в день злий і, все подолавши, вистояти.	Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

Отже, станьте, підперезавши стегна ваші істиною‚ і зодягнувшись у броню праведности,	Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15	15
і взувши ноги в готовність благовістити мир;	and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16	16
а понад усе візьміть щит віри, яким зможете погасити всі розпечені стріли лукавого;	above all, taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
17	17
і шолом спасіння візьміть, і меч духовний, що є Слово Боже.	And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Усякою молитвою і благанням моліться у будь-який час духом, і дбайте про це саме з повною постійністю і благанням за всіх святих	with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching unto this very thing in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

і за мене, щоб мені дано було слово устами моїми відкрито з дерзновенням звіщати таїну благовістування,	and on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

для якого я посол у кайданах, щоб я сміливо проповідував, як мені належить.	for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

А щоб і ви знали про мої обставини і діла, про все сповістить вам Тихик, улюблений брат і вірний у Господі служитель,	But that ye also may know my affairs, how I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

якого я і послав до вас для того самого, щоб ви довідалися про нас і щоб він утішив серця ваші.	whom I have sent unto you for this very purpose, that ye may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts.

Мир браттям і любов з вірою від Бога і Отця і Господа Ісуса Христа.	Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Благодать з усіма, що незмінно люблять Господа нашого Ісуса Христа. Амінь.	Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love incorruptible. Amen.
