Глава 1	Chapter 1

Павло і Тимофій, раби Ісуса Христа, всім святим у Христі Ісусі, що перебувають у Филипах, з єпископами і дияконами:	Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus that are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

благодать вам і мир від Бога Отця нашого і Господа Ісуса Христа.	Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Дякую Богові моєму при всякій згадці про вас,	I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you,
4	4
завжди у кожній молитві моїй про всіх вас, приносячи з радістю молитву мою,	always in every supplication of mine on behalf of you all making my supplication with joy,
5	5
за вашу участь у благовістуванні від першого дня аж донині,	for your fellowship in furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now;
6	6
будучи впевнений у тому, що той, хто почав у вас добре діло, вершитиме його аж до дня Ісуса Христа,	being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus:

як і належить мені думати про всіх вас, бо я маю вас у серці у кайданах моїх, при захисті та утвердженні благовістя, вас усіх, як співучасників моїх у благодаті.	even as it is right for me to be thus minded on behalf of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers with me of grace.

Бог — свідок, що я люблю всіх вас любов’ю Ісуса Христа	For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the tender mercies of Jesus Christ.
9	9
і молюся за те, щоб любов ваша ще більше і більше зростала в пізнанні та всякому почутті,	And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;
10	10
щоб, пізнаючи те, що краще, ви були чисті і не спіткнулися в день Христа,	so that ye may approve the things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and void of offense unto the day of Christ;
11	11
наповнені плодами праведности Ісусом Христом, на славу і похвалу Божу.	being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
12	12
Бажаю, браття, аби ви знали, що те‚ що зі мною сталося‚ послужило більшому успіху благовістя,	Now I would have you know, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the progress of the gospel;
13	13
бо моє ув’язнення за Христа стало відомим усій преторії та всім іншим,	so that my bonds became manifest in Christ throughout the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest;
14	14
і більшість з братів у Господі, підбадьорившись кайданами моїми, почали сміливіше, безбоязно проповідувати слово Боже.	and that most of the brethren in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word without fear.
15	15
Деякі, правда, через заздрощі і суперництво, а інші з доброї волі Христа проповідують.	Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
16	16
Одні з суперництва проповідують Христа не чисто, думаючи збільшити тягар кайданів моїх,	the one proclaim Christ of faction, not sincerely, thinking to add affliction to my bonds;
17	17
а інші — з любови, знаючи, що я поставлений захищати благовістя.	but the other do it of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.
18	18
Але що до того? Як би не проповідували Христа, удавано або щиро, я й тому радію і радітиму,	What then? only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and therein I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
19	19
бо знаю, що це послужить мені на спасіння за вашою молитвою і співдіянням Духа Ісуса Христа,	For I know that this shall turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
20	20
при впевненості й надії моїй, що я ні в чому не буду осоромлений, але при всякому дерзновенні і тепер, як і завжди, возвеличиться Христос у тілі моєму, чи то життям, чи смертю.	according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.

Бо для мене життя — Христос, і смерть — надбання.	For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22	22
Якщо ж життя у плоті дає плід моєму ділу, то не знаю, що обрати;	But if to live in the flesh be my lot, this is the fruit of my work: and what I shall choose I know not.
23	23
вабить мене те й інше: маю бажання визволитися і бути з Христом, бо це незрівнянно краще;	But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ; which is very far better:
24	24
а залишатися в плоті потрібніше для вас.	yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for your sake.
25	25
І я певно знаю, що зостанусь і буду з усіма вами для вашого успіху й радости у вірі,	And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide, yea, and abide with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith;
26	26
щоб похвала ваша у Христі Ісусі примножилася через мене, при моєму другому приході до вас.	that your glorying may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.
27	27
Тільки живіть достойно благовістя Христового, щоб мені, чи прийду я і побачу вас, чи не прийду, чути про вас, що ви стоїте в одному дусі, змагаючись однодушно за віру євангельську.	Only behave as citizens worthily of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you or be absent, I may hear of your state, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the gospel;

Hе лякайтесь ні в чому противників; це для них ознака погибелі, а для вас — спасіння. І це від Бога,	and in nothing affrighted by the adversaries: which is for them an evident token of perdition, but for you of salvation, and that from God;
29	29
тому що вам дано ради Христа не тільки вірувати в Hього, але й страждати за Hього,	because to you it hath been granted in behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer in his behalf:
30	30
таким самим подвигом, який ви бачили в мені і нині чуєте про мене.	having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
Глава 2	Chapter 2

1	1
Отже, коли є яке втішення у Христі, коли є яка втіха любови, коли є яке єднання духу, коли є яке милосердя і жалісливість,	If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,
2	2
то доповніть мою радість: майте одні думки, майте ту саму любов, будьте однодушні та однодумнi;	make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
3	3
нічого не робіть з суперництва або чванливости, але в покірності шануйте один одного вищим за себе.	doing nothing through faction or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;
4	4
Hе про себе тільки кожен турбуйся, але кожний і про інших,	look not each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
5	5
бо у вас повинні бути ті самі почування, як і в Христі Ісусі:	For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6	6
Він, будучи образом Божим, не вважав за захват бути рівним Боговi‚	who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7	7
але принизив Себе Самого, прийнявши образ раба, зробившись подібним до людей, і з вигляду став як чоловік;	but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;
8	8
упокорив Себе, був слухняним аж до смерти, і смерти хресної.	and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
9	9
Тому і Бог звеличив Його і дав Йому ім’я вище над усяке ім’я,	Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him a name which is above every name;
10	10
щоб перед іменем Ісуса схилилося всяке коліно небесних, земних і пекельних	that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,
11	11
і всякий язик сповідував, що Господь Ісус Христос у славу Бога Отця.	and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12	12
Отже, улюблені мої, оскільки ви завжди були слухняні, не тільки в присутності моїй, але значно більше тепер, під час моєї відсутности, зі страхом і трепетом дбайте про своє спасіння;	So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

тому що Бог створює в нас і хотіння, і діяння за Своїм благоволінням.	for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.
14	14
Усе робіть без нарікання й сумніву,	Do all things without murmurings and questionings;
15	15
щоб вам бути бездоганними й чистими, дітьми Божими‚ непорочними серед непокірного й розбещеного роду, в якому ви сяєте, як світила у світі,	that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,
16	16
зберігаючи Слово життя, на похвалу мені в день Христа, що я не даремно біг і не даремно трудився.	holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.
17	17
Та коли я і роблюся жертвою за жертву і служіння віри вашої, то радію і співрадію усім вам.	Yea, and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all:
18	18
Про це саме і ви радійте і співрадійте мені.	and in the same manner do ye also joy, and rejoice with me.
19	19
Hадіюсь же в Господі Ісусі незабаром прислати до вас Тимофія, щоб і я, довідавшись про ваші обставини, утішився духом.	But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
20	20
Бо я нікого не маю такого старанного, хто б так щиро турбувався про вас.	For I have no man like-minded, who will care truly for your state.
21	21
Бо всі шукають свого, а не того, що угодно Ісусу Христу.	For they all seek their own, not the things of Christ Jesus.
22	22
А його вірність вам відома, бо він, як син батькові, служив мені у благовістуванні.	But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child serveth a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.
23	23
Отже, я маю надію послати його негайно, як тільки дізнаюсь, що буде зі мною.	Him therefore I hope to send forthwith, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me:
24	24
Я впевнений у Господі, що й сам скоро прийду до вас.	but I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come shortly.
25	25
А втім, я вважав за потрібне послати до вас Епафродита, брата і співробітника та сподвижника мого, а вашого посланника і служителя в потребі моїй,	But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need;
26	26
бо він дуже бажав бачити всіх вас і тяжко тужив за тим, що до вас дійшла чутка про його хворобу.	since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:
27	27
Бо він був смертельно хворий, але Бог помилував його, і не його тільки, але й мене, щоб не додалася мені печаль до печалі.	for indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.
28	28
Тому я скоріше послав його, щоб ви, побачивши його знову, зраділи і я був менше засмучений.	I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29	29
Прийміть же його в Господі з усякою радістю і таких майте в пошані,	Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honor:
30	30
бо він за діло Христове близький був до смерти, наражаючи на небезпеку життя, щоб доповнити ваш нестаток служіння мені.	because for the work of Christ he came nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
Глава 3	Chapter 3

1	1
Втім, браття мої, радуйтесь у Господі. Писати про те саме для мене необтяжливо, а для вас повчально.	Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe.
2	2
Стережіться псів, стережіться лихих працівників, стережіться обрізання,	Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the concision:
3	3
бо обрізання — ми, що служимо Богові духом і хвалимось Ісусом Христом, а не надіємось на плоть.	for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:
4	4
Хоч я можу надіятись і на плоть. Якщо хто інший думає надіятись на плоть, то я більше,	though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh: if any other man thinketh to have confidence in the flesh, I yet more:
5	5
обрізаний восьмого дня, з роду Ізраїлевого, коліна Веніамінового, єврей з євреїв, за законом фарисей,	circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6	6
за ревністю — гонитель Церкви Божої, за правдою законною — непорочний.	as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.
7	7
Але те, що для мене було перевагою, заради Христа я вважав за ніщо.	Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.
8	8
Та і все я вважаю за ніщо заради переваги пізнання Христа Ісуса, Господа мого: для Hього я від усього відмовився і все вважаю за сміття, щоб придбати Христа	Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them to be but refuse, that I may gain Christ,

і знайтись у Hьому не зі своєю праведністю, яка від закону, але з тією, що через віру в Христа, з праведністю від Бога за вірою;	and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:
10	10
щоб пізнати Його і силу воскресіння Його, і участь у стражданнях Його, уподібнюючись смерті Його,	that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;
11	11
щоб досягти воскресіння мертвих.	if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12	12
Кажу так не тому, що я вже досяг або вдосконалився, але прагну, чи не досягну я, як досяг мене Христос Ісус.	Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus.
13	13
Браття, я не вважаю, що я вже досяг, а тільки, забуваючи те, що позаду, я пориваюсь вперед.	Brethren, I count not myself to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,
14	14
Прагну до мети, до почести вишнього покликання Божого в Христі Ісусі,	I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15	15
отже, хто з вас довершений, так повинен думати; якщо ж ви про щось інакше думаєте, то і це Бог вам відкриє.	Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, this also shall God reveal unto you:
16	16
Втім, чого ми досягли, так і повинні думати і за тим правилом жити.	only, whereunto we have attained, by that same rule let us walk, let us be of the same mind.
17	17
Hаслідуйте, браття, мене і дивіться на тих, що діють за образом, який маєте в нас.	Brethren, be ye imitators together of me, and mark them that so walk even as ye have us for an example.
18	18
Багато тих, про кого я часто говорив вам, а тепер навіть із сльозами кажу, поводяться як вороги хреста Христового.	For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19	19
Кінець їхній — погибель, бог їхній — черево, і слава їхня — в соромі, вони думають про земне.	whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
20	20
А наше життя — на небесах, звідкіля ми чекаємо і Спасителя, Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,	For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21	21
Який перемінить тіло смирення нашого так, що воно буде відповідне славному Тілу Його, силою, якою Він діє і підкоряє Собі все.	who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.
Глава 4	Chapter 4

1	1
Отже, браття мої улюблені й жадані, радість і вінець мій, стійте так у Господі, улюблені.	Wherefore, my brethren beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.
2	2
Благаю Єводію, благаю й Синтихію мислити те саме в Господі.	I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the Lord.
3	3
Так, благаю і тебе, щирий співробітнику, допомагай їм, тим, що в благовісті працювали разом зі мною і з Климентом та з іншими співробітниками моїми, чиї імена — в книзі життя.	Yea, I beseech thee also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Радійте завжди в Господі, і ще кажу: радійте.	Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice.
5	5
Лагідність ваша нехай буде відома всім людям. Господь близько.	Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6	6
Hе турбуйтесь ні про що, але завжди в молитві та проханні з подякою відкривайте свої бажання перед Богом,	In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7	7
і мир Божий, який перевищує всякий розум, збереже серця ваші й помисли ваші в Христі Ісусі.	And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
8	8
Hарешті, браття мої, що тільки істинне, що чесне, що справедливе, що чисте, що любе, що гідне слави, що тільки чеснота й похвала, про те помишляйте.	Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Чого ви навчились, що прийняли й чули та бачили в мені, те виконуйте, — і Бог миру буде з вами.	The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10	10
Я дуже зрадів у Господі, що ви вже знову почали турбуватися про мене; ви і раніше турбувались, але вам не сприяли обставини.	But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye have revived your thought for me; wherein ye did indeed take thought, but ye lacked opportunity.
11	11
Говорю не тому, що маю потребу, бо я навчився бути задоволеним тим, що в мене є,	Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content.
12	12
умію жити і в злиднях, вмію жити і в достатку; вчився всього і в усьому, насичуватись і терпіти голод, бути і в достатку, і в нестатках.	I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: in everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want.
13	13
Усе можу в Ісусі Христі, Який мене зміцнює.	I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.
14	14
А втім, ви добре зробили, взявши участь у моїй скорботі.	Howbeit ye did well that ye had fellowship with my affliction.
15	15
Ви знаєте, филип’яни, що з початку благовістя, коли я вийшов із Македонії, жодна церква не взяла участі у подаванні мені та прийманні мене, крім вас одних;	And ye yourselves also know, ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving but ye only;
16	16
ви й до Солуня і раз і два присилали мені на потреби.	for even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my need.
17	17
Кажу це не тому, що я шукав подаяння, але шукаю плоду, який примножується на користь вашу.	Not that I seek for the gift; but I seek for the fruit that increaseth to your account.
18	18
Я одержав усе і маю з достатком; я задоволений, одержавши від Епафродита надіслане вами, як запашне куріння, жертву приємну, благоугодну Богові.	But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.
19	19
Бог мій нехай сповнить усяку потребу вашу, за багатством Своїм у славі, Христом Ісусом.	And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20	20
Богові ж і Отцеві нашому слава на віки віків. Амінь.	Now unto our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
21	21
Вітайте кожного святого у Христі Ісусі. Вітають вас усі браття, що перебувають зі мною.	Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren that are with me salute you.
22	22
Вітають вас усі святі‚ а найбільше з Кесаревого дому.	All the saints salute you, especially they that are of Caesar’s household.
23	23
Благодать Господа нашого Ісуса Христа з усіма вами. Амінь.	The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
