|
| Павло‚ і Силуан‚ і Тимофій — Солунській церкві в Богові Отці нашому і Господі Ісусі Христі: | Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ; |
|

|
2
|
| благодать вам і мир від Бога Отця нашого і Господа Ісуса Христа. | Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
|

|
3
|
| Завжди по справедливості ми повинні дякувати Богові за вас, браття, тому що зростає віра ваша і примножується любов кожного один до одного між усіма вами, | We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth; |

|
| так що ми самі хвалимося вами у церквах Божих, терпінням вашим і вірою в усіх гоніннях і скорботах, які ви зносите | so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure; |
|

|
| на доказ того, що буде праведний суд Божий, щоб вам сподобитися Царства Божого, задля якого і страждаєте. | which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: |
|

|
| Бо праведно перед Богом — відплатити скорботою тим, що кривдять вас, | if so be that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you, |
|

|
7
|
| а вам, скривдженим, — відрадою разом із нами в явлення з неба Господа Ісуса з ангелами сили Його, | and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power |
|

|
8
|
| Який у полум’яному вогні здійснює помсту тим, які не пізнали Бога і не підкоряються благовістуванню Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, | in flaming fire, rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: |
|

|
9
|
| які приймуть кару, вічну погибель, від лиця Господнього і від слави могутности Його, | who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, |
|

|
10
|
| коли Він прийде прославитись у святих Своїх і з’явиться дивним в день той у всіх, хто увірував, бо ви повірили нашому свідченню. | when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day. |
|

|
11
|
| За це і молимося завжди за вас, щоб Бог наш сподобив вас бути гідними покликання і здійснив усяке благовоління благости і діло віри в силі, | To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and every work of faith, with power; |
|

|
12
|
| щоб прославилось ім’я Господа нашого Ісуса Христа у вас і ви в Hьому з благодаті Бога нашого і Господа Ісуса Христа. | that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
|
Глава 2

Chapter 2
|

|
| Благаємо ж вас, браття, щодо пришестя Господа нашого Ісуса Христа і нашого зібрання до Hього, | Now we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him; |
|

|
2
|
| не спішити вагатися розумом і не тривожитися ні від духу, ні від слова, ні від послання, ніби нами надісланого, неначе вже настає день Христів. | to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of Christ is just at hand; |

| Hехай ніхто не спокусить вас ніяк: бо день той не прийде, поки не прийде раніш відступлення і не відкриється чоловік гріха, син погибелі, | let no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, |
|

|
| який противиться і звеличується над усім, що зветься Богом‚ або святинею, так що в храмі Божому сяде він, як Бог, і за Бога себе видаватиме. | he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God. |
|

| Хіба не пам’ятаєте, як я, ще перебуваючи у вас, говорив вам це? | Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? |
|

|
| І тепер ви знаєте, що утримує його від того‚ щоб з’явитися в свій час. | And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. |
|

|
7
|
| Бо таємниця беззаконня вже діє, тільки не здійсниться доти, доки не буде вилучений із середовища той, що утримує тепер. | For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. |
|

|
8
|
| І тоді відкриється беззаконник, якого Господь Ісус уб’є духом уст Своїх і знищить явленням пришестя Свого. | And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming; |
|

|
9
|
| Його ж пришестя, за дією сатани, буде з усякою силою і знаменням та чудесами неправдивими, | even he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, |
|
10
|
10
|
| і з усякою оманою неправди тих, які гинуть за те, що вони не прийняли любови істини для свого спасіння. | and with all deceit of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. |
|

|
11
|
| І за це пошле їм Бог дію омани, так що вони віритимуть неправді, | And for this cause God shall send them a working of error, that they should believe a lie: |
|
12
|
12
|
| і відтак будуть засуджені всі, що не увірували істині, а полюбили неправду. | that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. |
|

|
13
|
| Ми ж повинні завжди дякувати Богові за вас, улюблені Господом браття, що Бог від початку, через освячення Духа і віру в істину, обрав вас на спасіння, | But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: |

| до якого ви і покликані благовістуванням нашим для досягнення слави Господа нашого Ісуса Христа. | whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
|
15
|
15
|
| Отже, браття, стійте і тримайтеся передань, яких ви навчилися чи то словом, чи то посланням нашим. | So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by epistle of ours. |
|

|
16
|
| Сам же Господь наш Ісус Христос і Бог і Отець наш, Який полюбив нас і дав утішення вічне і добру надію в благодаті, | Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, |
|
17
|
17
|
| нехай утішить ваші серця і нехай утвердить вас у всякому слові й доброму ділі. | comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. |
|
Глава 3
|
Chapter 3
|
|
1
|
1
|
| Отже, моліться за нас, браття, щоб слово Господнє ширилося й славилось, як і у вас, | Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also it is with you; |
|
2
|
2
|
| і щоб нам визволитися від непорядних та лукавих людей, бо не в усіх є віра. | and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for all have not faith. |
|
3
|
3
|
| Але вірний Господь, Який укріпить вас і збереже від лукавого. | But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil one. |
|
4
|
4
|
| Уповаємо ж на Господа щодо вас, що ви робите і будете робити те, що ми повеліваємо вам. | And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. |
|
5
|
5
|
| Господь же нехай направить серця ваші на любов Божу і на терпіння Христове. | And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ. |
|

|
6
|
| Заповідаємо ж вам, браття, ім’ям Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, віддалятися від усякого брата, який поводиться безчинно, а не за переданням, яке прийняли від нас, | Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us. |

| бо ви самі знаєте, як належить вам наслідувати нас, бо ми у вас не безчинствували, | For yourselves know how ye ought to imitate us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; |
|

|
8
|
| ні в кого не їли хліба дарма, але були в труді і подвизі вночі і вдень, щоб не обтяжити кого з вас, — | neither did we eat bread for nought at any man’s hand, but in labor and travail, working night and day, that we might not burden any of you: |
|

|
9
|
| не те щоб ми не мали влади, але щоб себе самих дати вам на зразок, щоб ви наслідували нас. | not because we have not the right, but to make ourselves an example unto you, that ye should imitate us. |
|
10
|
10
|
| Бо коли ми були у вас, то заповідали вам таке: якщо хто не хоче трудитися, то нехай і не їсть. | For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat. |
|
11
|
11
|
| Та чуємо, що деякі у вас поводять себе безчинно, нічого не роблять, тільки метушаться. | For we hear of some that walk among you disorderly, that work not at all, but are busybodies. |
|

|
12
|
| Таких наставляємо і переконуємо Господом нашим Ісусом Христом, щоб вони, безмовно працюючи, їли свій хліб. | Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. |
|

|
| Ви ж, браття, не сумуйте, роблячи добро. | But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing. |
|
14
|
14
|
| Коли ж хто не послухає слова нашого в цьому посланні, того майте на увазі і не знайтеся з ним, щоб присоромити його. | And if any man obeyeth not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed. |
|
15
|
15
|
| Тільки не майте його за ворога, а наставляйте на розум, як брата. | And yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. |
|
16
|
16
|
| Сам же Господь миру нехай дасть вам мир завжди в усьому. Господь з усіма вами! | Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all. |
|
17
|
17
|
| Вітання моєю рукою, Павловою, що є ознакою у кожному посланнi; пишу я так: | The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. |
|
18
|
18
|
| благодать Господа нашого Ісуса Христа з усіма вами. Амінь. | The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. |
