| Цар Навуходоносор зробив золотого ідола, висотою в шістдесят ліктів, шириною у шість ліктів, поставив його на полі Деїрі, в області Вавилонській. | In his eighteenth year Nabuchodonosor the king made a golden image, its height was sixty cubits, its breadth six cubits: and he set it up in the plain of Deira, in the province of Babylon. |

| І послав цар Навуходоносор зібрати сатрапів, намісників, воєвод, верховних суддів, казнохранителів, законознавців, наглядачів суду і всіх обласних правителів, щоб вони прийшли на урочисте відкриття ідола, якого поставив цар Навуходоносор. | And he sent forth to gather the governors, and the captains, and the heads of provinces, chiefs, and princes, and those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, to come to the dedication of the image. |

| І зібралися сатрапи, намісники, воєначальники, верховні судді, казнохранителі, законознавці, наглядачі суду і всі обласні правителі на відкриття ідола, якого Навуходоносор цар поставив, і стали перед ідолом, якого спорудив Навуходоносор. | So the heads of provinces, the governors, the captains, the chiefs, the great princes, those who were in authority, and all the rulers of districts, were gathered to the dedication of the image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up; and they stood before the image. |

| Тоді глашатай голосно викликнув: оголошується вам, народи, племена і мови: | Then a herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, ye peoples, tribes, and languages, |

| у той час, як почуєте звук труби, сопілки, цитри, цівниці, гусел і симфонії і всяких музичних інструментів, упадіть і поклоніться золотому ідолу, якого поставив цар Навуходоносор. | at what hour ye shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and every kind of music, ye shall fall down and worship the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor has set up. |

| А хто не впаде і не поклониться, негайно буде кинутий у піч, розжарену вогнем. | And whosoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour he shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace. |
|

|
| Тому, коли всі народи почули звук труби, сопілки, цитри, цівниці, гусел і всякого роду музичних інструментів, то упали всі народи, племена і мови, і поклонилися золотому ідолу, якого поставив Навуходоносор цар. | And it came to pass when the nations heard the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the nations, tribes, and languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image which king Nabuchodonosor had set up. |

| У цей самий час приступили деякі з халдеїв і донесли на юдеїв. | Then came near certain Chaldeans, and accused the Jews to the king, saying, |

|
| Вони сказали цареві Навуходоносору: царю, повіки живи! | O king, live for ever. |
|

|

|
| Ти, царю, дав повеління, щоб кожна людина, яка почує звук труби, сопілки, цитри, цівниці, гусел і симфонії і всякого роду музичних інструментів, упала і поклонилася золотому ідолу; | Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man who shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, sackbut, and psaltery, and all kinds of music, |

|
| а хто не впаде і не поклониться, той повинен бути кинутий у піч, розжарену вогнем. | and shall not fall down and worship the golden image, shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace. |
|

|
| Є мужі юдейські, яких ти поставив над ділами країни Вавилонської: Седрах, Мисах і Авденаго; ці мужі не підкорюються повелінню твоєму, царю, богам твоїм не служать і золотому ідолу, якого ти поставив, не поклоняються. | There are certain Jews whom thou hast appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, who have not obeyed thy decree, O king: they serve not thy gods, and worship not the golden image which thou hast set up. |

| Тоді Навуходоносор у гніві й люті повелів привести Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго; і приведені були ці мужі до царя. | Then Nabuchodonosor in wrath and anger commanded to bring Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and they were brought before the king. |
|

|
| Навуходоносор сказав їм: чи за умислом, ви, Седрах, Мисах і Авденаго, богам моїм не служите, і золотому ідолу, якого я поставив, не поклоняєтеся? | And Nabuchodonosor answered and said to them, Is it true, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, that ye serve not my gods, and worship not the golden image which I have set up? |

| Віднині, якщо ви готові, як тільки почуєте звук труби, сопілки, цитри, цівниці, гусел, симфонії і всякого роду музичних інструментів, упадіть і поклоніться ідолу, якого я зробив; якщо ж не поклонитеся, то у ту ж годину будете кинуті у піч, розжарену вогнем, і тоді який Бог визволить вас від руки моєї? | Now then if ye be ready, whensoever ye shall hear the sound of the trumpet, and pipe, and harp, and sackbut, and psaltery, and harmony, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the golden image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, in the same hour ye shall be cast into the burning fiery furnace; and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hand? |

| І відповіли Седрах, Мисах і Авденаго, і сказали цареві Навуходоносору: немає потреби нам відповідати тобі на це. | Then answered Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and said to king Nabuchodonosor, We have no need to answer thee concerning this matter. |
|

|
| Бог наш, Якому ми служимо, сильний спасти нас від печі, розжареної вогнем, і від руки твоєї, царю, визволити. | For our God whom we serve is in the heavens, able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will rescue us from thy hands, O king. |
|

|
18
|
| Якщо ж і не буде того, то нехай буде відомо тобі, царю, що ми богам твоїм служити не будемо і золотому ідолу, якого ти поставив, не поклонимося. | But if not, be it known to thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the image which thou hast set up. |
|

| Тоді Навуходоносор сповнився люті, і вигляд лиця його змінився на Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго, і він повелів розпалити піч у сім разів сильніше, ніж як звичайно розпалювали її, | Then Nabuchodonosor was filled with wrath, and the form of his countenance was changed toward Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago: and he gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than usual, until it should burn to the uttermost. |

| і найсильнішим мужам з війська свого наказав зв’язати Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго і кинути їх у піч, розжарену вогнем. | And he commanded mighty men to bind Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. |

| Тоді мужі ці зв’язані були у спідньому і верхньому вбранні своєму, з пов’язками на головах і в іншому одязі своєму, і кинуті у піч, розжарену вогнем. | Then those men were bound with their coats, and caps, and hose, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace, |

| І оскільки повеління царя було суворе, і піч розжарена була надзвичайно, то полум’я вогню убило тих людей, які кидали Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго. | forasmuch as the king's word prevailed; and the furnace was made exceeding hot. |
|

|
| А ці три мужі, Седрах, Мисах і Авденаго, упали в розпечену вогнем піч зв’язані. [ | Then these three men, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, fell bound into the midst of the burning furnace, |
|

|

|
| *І ходили посеред полум’я, оспівуючи Бога і благословляючи Господа. | and walked in the midst of the flame, singing praise to God, and blessing the Lord. |
|
25
|
25
|
| І, вставши, Азарія молився і, відкривши вуста свої посеред вогню, виголосив: | Then Azarias stood up, and prayed on this manner; and opening his mouth in the midst of the fire said, |
|

|
26
|
| «Благословенний Ти, Господи Боже отців наших, хвальне і прославлене ім’я Твоє повіки. | Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers: thy name is worthy to be praised and glorified for evermore: |
|

|
27
|
| Бо праведний Ти в усьому, що вчинив з нами, і всі діла Твої істинні й путі Твої праві, і всі суди Твої істинні. | for thou art righteous in all the things that thou hast done to us: yea, true are all thy works, thy ways are right, and all thy judgments truth. |
|

|

|
| Ти звершив істинні суди в усьому, що навів на нас і на святе місто отців наших Єрусалим, тому що за істиною і за судом навів Ти все це на нас за гріхи наші. | In all the things that thou hast brought upon us, and upon the holy city of our fathers, even Jerusalem, thou hast executed true judgment: for according to truth and judgment didst thou bring all these things upon us because of our sins. |

| Бо згрішили ми, і вчинили беззаконно, відступивши від Тебе, і в усьому згрішили. | For we have sinned and committed iniquity, departing from thee. In all things have we trespassed, and not obeyed thy commandments, |
|

|
| Заповідей Твоїх не слухали і не дотримувалися їх, і не жили, як Ти повелів нам, щоб благо нам було. | nor kept them, neither done as thou hast commanded us, that it might go well with us. |
|

|
| І все, що Ти навів на нас, і все, що Ти вчинив з нами, вчинив за істинним судом. | Wherefore all that thou hast brought upon us, and every thing that thou hast done to us, thou hast done in true judgment. |
|

|
| І віддав нас до рук ворогів беззаконних, найненависніших відступників, і царю неправосудному і найлютішому на всій землі. | And thou didst deliver us into the hands of lawless enemies, most hateful forsakers of God, and to an unjust king, and the most wicked in all the world. |
|

|
33
|
| І нині ми не можемо відкрити вуст наших; ми стали соромом і ганьбою для рабів Твоїх і тих, що шанують Тебе. | And now we cannot open our mouths, we are become a shame and reproach to thy servants, and to them that worship thee. |
|

|
| Але не віддай нас назавжди заради імені Твого, і не зруйнуй завіту Твого. | Yet deliver us not up wholly, for thy name's sake, neither disannul thou thy covenant: |
|

|
| Не відніми від нас милости Твоєї заради Авраама, улюбленого Твого, заради Ісаака, раба Твого, й Ізраїля, святого Твого, | and cause not thy mercy to depart from us, for thy beloved Abraham's sake, for thy servant Isaac's sake, and for thy holy Israel's sake; |

|
| яким Ти говорив, що примножиш сíм’я їх, як зірки небесні і як пісок на березі моря. | to whom thou hast spoken and promised, that thou wouldest multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that lieth upon the seashore. |
|

|
| Ми принижені, Господи, більше за всі народи, і принижені нині на всій землі за гріхи наші, | For we, O Lord, are become less than any nation, and be kept under this day in all the world because of our sins. |
|
38
|
38
|
| і немає у нас у даний час ні князя, ні пророка, ні вождя, ні всепалення, ні жертви, ні приношення, ні фіміаму, ні місця, щоб нам принести жертву Тобі і знайти милість Твою. | Neither is there at this time prince, or prophet, or leader, or burnt offering, or sacrifice, or oblation, or incense, or place to sacrifice before thee, and to find mercy. |

|
| Але зі скрушеним серцем і смиренним духом нехай будемо прийняті. | Nevertheless in a contrite heart and an humble spirit let us be accepted. Like as in the burnt offerings of rams and bullocks, and like as in ten thousands of fat lambs: |
|

|

|
| Як при всепаленні баранів і тельців і як при тисячах повнотілих агнців, так нехай буде жертва наша перед Тобою нині благоугодною Тобі; бо немає сорому тим, хто уповає на Тебе. | so let our sacrifice be in thy sight this day, and grant that we may wholly go after thee: for they shall not be confounded that put their trust in thee. |

| І нині ми йдемо за Тобою всім серцем і боїмося Тебе і шукаємо лиця Твого. | And now we follow thee with all our heart, we fear thee, and seek thy face. Put us not to shame: |
|

|
| Не посором нас, але сотвори з нами за поблажливістю Твоєю і за безліччю милости Твоєї | but deal with us after thy lovingkindness, and according to the multitude of thy mercies. |
|
43
|
43
|
| і визволи нас силою чудес Твоїх, і дай славу імені Твоєму, Господи, | Deliver us also according to thy marvellous works, and give glory to thy name, O Lord: |
|
44
|
44
|
| і нехай посоромляться всі, що роблять рабам Твоїм зло, і нехай посоромляться з усією могутністю, і сила їх нехай скрушиться, | and let all them that do thy servants hurt be ashamed; and let them be confounded in all their power and might, and let their strength be broken; |
|
45
|
45
|
| і нехай пізнають, що Ти Господь Бог єдиний і славний по всій вселенній». | and let them know that thou art Lord, the only God, and glorious over the whole world. |
|

|
| А тим часом слуги царя, які вкинули їх, не переставали розпалювати піч нафтою, смолою, паклею і хмизом, | And the king's servants, that put them in, ceased not to make the oven hot with rosin, pitch, tow, and small wood; |
|
47
|
47
|
| і піднімалося полум’я над піччю на сорок дев’ять ліктів | so that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty and nine cubits. |
|
48
|
48
|
| і виривалося, і спалювало тих з халдеїв, яких досягало біля печі. | And it passed through, and burned those Chaldeans it found about the furnace. |
|

|
49
|
| Але ангел Господній зійшов у піч разом з Азарією і тими, що були з ним, | But the angel of the Lord came down into the oven together with Azarias and his fellows, and smote the flame of the fire out of the oven; |
|
50
|
50
|
| і викинув полум’я вогню з печі, і зробив, що всередині печі був ніби шумливий вологий вітер, і вогонь ніскільки не доторкнувся до них, і не зашкодив їм, і не збентежив їх. | and made the midst of the furnace as it had been a moist whistling wind, so that the fire touched them not at all, neither hurt nor troubled them. |

| Тоді ці троє, ніби одними вустами, заспівали у печі, і благословили і прославили Бога: | Then the three, as out of one mouth, praised, glorified, and blessed, God in the furnace, saying, |
|

|
| «Благословенний Ти, Господи Боже отців наших, і хвальний і препрославлений повіки, і благословенне ім’я слави Твоєї, святе і прехвальне, що підноситься повіки. | Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers: and to be praised and exalted above all for ever. And blessed is thy glorious and holy name: and to be praised and exalted above all for ever. |

| Благословенний Ти у храмі святої слави Твоєї, і прехвальний і преславний повіки. | Blessed art thou in the temple of thy holy glory: and to be praised and glorified above all for ever. |

|
| Благословенний Ти, що бачиш безодні, що сидиш на херувимах, і прехвальний і препрославлений повіки. | Blessed art thou that beholdest the depths, and sittest upon the cherubim: and to be praised and exalted above all for ever. |
|

| Благословенний Ти на престолі слави царства Твого, і прехвальний і препрославлений повіки. | Blessed art thou on the glorious throne of thy kingdom: and to be praised and glorified above all for ever. |
|

|
| Благословенний Ти на тверді небесній, і прехвальний і препрославлений повіки. | Blessed art thou in the firmament of heaven: and above all to be praised and glorified for ever. |
|

| Благословіть, усі діла Господні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O all ye works of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

|
| Благословіть, ангели Господні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye heavens, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |
|

|
| Благословляйте, небеса, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye angels of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |
|

|
| Благословляйте Господа, усі води, які вище небес, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O all ye waters that be above the heaven, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, усі сили Господні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O all ye powers of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, сонце і місяць, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye sun and moon, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, зірки небесні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye stars of heaven, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, усякий дощ і роса, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O every shower and dew, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, вогонь і жар, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye fire and heat, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, холод і спека, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | |

|
| Благословляйте, роси та іній, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | |

| Благословляйте, ночі і дні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | |

| Благословляйте, світло і пітьма, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | |

| Благословляйте, лід і мороз, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye nights and days, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, іній і сніг, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye light and darkness, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, блискавки і хмари, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye lightnings and clouds, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Нехай благословляє земля Господа, нехай оспівує і прославляє Його повіки. | O let the earth bless the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, гори і пагорби, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye mountains and little hills, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляй Господа усе, що росте на землі, оспівуй і прославляй Його повіки. | O all ye things that grow on the earth, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, джерела, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye seas and rivers, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляй, Ізраїлю, Господа, оспівуй і прославляй Його повіки. | O Israel, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, священики Господні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye priests of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, раби Господні, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye servants of the Lord, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, ду́хи і душі праведних, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye spirits and souls of the righteous, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |

| Благословляйте, праведні і смиренні серцем, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки. | O ye holy and humble men of heart, bless ye the Lord: praise and exalt him above all for ever. |
|

| Благословляйте, Ананіє, Азаріє і Мисаїле, Господа, оспівуйте і прославляйте Його повіки; бо Він вивів нас з пекла і спас нас від руки смерти, і визволив нас із середовища печі палючого полум’я, й із середовища вогню визволив нас. | O Ananias, Azarias, and Misael, bless ye the Lord; praise and exalt him above all for ever: for he hath delivered us from hell, and saved us from the hand of death, and delivered us out of the midst of the furnace and burning flame: even out of the midst of the fire hath he delivered us. |

| Славте Господа, бо Він благий, бо повік милість Його. | O give thanks unto the Lord, because he is gracious: for his mercy endureth for ever. |

| Благословляйте усі, хто шанує Господа, Бога богів, оспівуйте і славте, бо повіки милість Його».] | O all ye that worship the Lord, bless the God of gods, praise him and give him thanks: for his mercy endureth for ever. |

| Навуходоносор цар, [почувши, що вони співають,] здивувався, і поспішно встав, і сказав вельможам своїм: чи не трьох мужів кинули ми у вогонь зв’язаними? Вони у відповідь сказали цареві: істинно так, царю! | And Nabuchodonosor heard them singing praises; and he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his nobles, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? and they said to the king, Yes, O king. |

| На це він сказав: ось, я бачу чотирьох мужів незв’язаних, які ходять посеред вогню, і немає їм шкоди; і вигляд четвертого подібний до сина Божого. | And the king said, But I see four men loose, and walking in the midst of the fire, and there has no harm happened to them; and the appearance of the fourth is like the Son of God. |

| Тоді підійшов Навуходоносор до челюстів печі, розжареної вогнем, і сказав: Седраху, Мисаху й Авденаго, раби Бога Всевишнього! вийдіть і підійдіть! Тоді Седрах, Мисах і Авденаго вийшли із середовища вогню. | Then Nabuchodonosor drew near to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said, Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, proceed forth, and come hither. So Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, came forth out of the midst of the fire. |

| І, зібравшись, сатрапи, намісники, воєначальники і радники царя побачили, що над тілами мужів цих вогонь не мав сили, і волосся на голові не обпалене, й одяг їхній не змінився, і навіть запаху вогню не було від них. | Then were assembled the satraps, and captains, and heads of provinces, and the royal princes; and they saw the men, and perceived that the fire had not had power against their bodies, and the hair of their head was not burnt, and their coats were not scorched, nor was the smell of fire upon them. |

| Тоді Навуходоносор сказав: благословенний Бог Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго, Який послав ангела Свого і визволив рабів Своїх, які уповали на Нього і не послухалися царського повеління, і віддали тіла свої [вогню], щоб не служити і не поклонятися іншому богу, крім Бога свого! | And king Nabuchodonosor answered and said, Blessed be the God of Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants, because they trusted in him; and they have changed the king's word, and delivered their bodies to be burnt, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. |

| І від мене дається повеління, щоб з усякого народу, племені і мови, хто вимовить хулу на Бога Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго, був порубаний на шматки, і дім його перетворений на руїни, бо немає іншого бога, який міг би так спасати. | Wherefore I publish a decree: Every people, tribe, or language, that shall speak reproachfully against the God of Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, shall be destroyed, and their houses shall be plundered: because there is no other God who shall be able to deliver thus. |

| Тоді цар підніс Седраха, Мисаха й Авденаго у країні Вавилонській [і звеличив їх і поставив їх начальниками над іншими юдеями в його царстві]. | Then the king promoted Sedrach, Misach, and Abdenago, in the province of Babylon, and advanced them, and gave them authority to rule over all the Jews who were in his kingdom. |
