| У третій рік царювання Валтасара царя явилося мені, Даниїлові, видіння після того, яке явилося мені раніше. | In the third year of the reign of king Baltasar a vision appeared to me, even to me Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first. |

| І бачив я у видінні, і коли бачив, я був у Сузах, престольному місті в області Еламській, і бачив я у видінні, — ніби я був біля ріки Улая. | And I was in Susa the palace, which is in the land of Ælam, and I was on the bank of Ubal. |
|

| Звів я очі мої і побачив: ось, один баран стоїть біля ріки; у нього два роги, і роги високі, але один вищий за другий, і вищий піднявся опісля. | And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a ram standing in front of the Ubal; and he had high horns; and one was higher than the other, and the high one came up last. |

| Бачив я, як цей баран буцався на захід і на північ і на південь, і ніякий звір не міг устояти проти нього, і ніхто не міг урятуватися від нього; він робив, що хотів, і величався. | And I saw the ram butting westward, and northward, and southward; and no beast could stand before him, and there was none that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great. |

| Я уважно дивився на це, і ось, із заходу йшов козел по лицю всієї землі, не торкаючись землі; у цього козла було видно ріг між його очима. | And I was considering, and, behold, a he-goat came from the south-west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the earth: and the goat had a horn between his eyes. |

| Він пішов на того барана, який має роги, якого я бачив, який стояв біля ріки, і кинувся на нього у сильній люті своїй. | And he came to the ram that had the horns, which I had seen standing in front of the Ubal, and he ran at him with the violence of his strength. |

| І я бачив, як він, наблизившись до барана, розлютився на нього й уразив барана, і зломив у нього обидва роги; і не вистачило сили у барана устояти проти нього, і він повалив його на землю і розтоптав його, і не було нікого, хто міг би спасти барана від нього. | And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was furiously enraged against him, and he smote the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. |

| Тоді козел надзвичайно звеличився; але коли він набрав сили, то зломився великий ріг, і на місце його вийшло чотири, повернені на чотири вітри небесних. | And the he-goat grew exceedingly great: and when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other horns rose up in its place toward the four winds of heaven. |

| Від одного з них вийшов невеликий ріг, який надзвичайно розрісся до півдня і до сходу і до прекрасної країни, | And out of one of them came forth one strong horn, and it grew very great toward the south, and toward the host: |

| і піднісся до воїнства небесного, і скинув на землю частину цього воїнства і зірок, і потоптав їх, | and it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth some of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them. |

| і навіть піднісся на Вождя воїнства цього, і віднята була у Нього щоденна жертва, і зганьблене було місце святині Його. | And this shall be until the chief captain shall have delivered the captivity: and by reason of him the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate. |

| І воїнство віддане разом із щоденною жертвою за нечестя, і він, скидаючи істину на землю, діяв і мав успіх. | And a sin-offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. |

| І почув я одного святого, який говорив, і сказав цей святий комусь, хто запитував: «на скільки часу поширюється це видіння про щоденну жертву і про спустошливе нечестя, коли святиня і воїнство будуть потоптані?» | And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, even the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and how long shall the sanctuary and host be trampled? |

| І сказав мені: «на дві тисячі триста вечорів і ранків; і тоді святилище очиститься». | And he said to him, Evening and morning there shall be two thousand and four hundred days; and then the sanctuary shall be cleansed. |
|

|
| І було: коли я, Даниїл, побачив це видіння і шукав значення його, ось, стала переді мною начебто подоба чоловіка. | And it came to pass, as I, even I Daniel, saw the vision, and sought to understand it, that, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. |
|

|
| І почув я від середини Улая голос людський, який воззвав і сказав: «Гавриїле! поясни йому це видіння!» | And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of the Ubal; and he called, and said, Gabriel, cause that man to understand the vision. |
|

| І він підійшов до того місця, де я стояв, і коли він прийшов, я жахнувся й упав на лице моє; і сказав він мені: «знай, сину людський, що видіння стосується кінця часу!» | And he came and stood near where I stood: and when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man: for yet the vision is for an appointed time. |

| І коли він говорив зі мною, я без тями лежав лицем моїм на землі; але він доторкнувся до мене і поставив мене на місце моє, | And while he spoke with me, I fell upon my face to the earth: and he touched me, and set me on my feet. |
|

|
| і сказав: «ось, я відкриваю тобі, що́ буде в останні дні гніву; бо це стосується кінця визначеного часу. | And he said, Behold, I make thee know the things that shall come to pass at the end of the wrath: for the vision is yet for an appointed time. |
|

|
| Баран, якого ти бачив із двома рогами, це царі мідійський і перський. | The ram which thou sawest that had the horns is the king of the Medes and Persians. |
|

|
| А козел кошлатий — цар Греції, а великий ріг, який між очима його, це перший її цар; | The he-goat is the king of the Greeks: and the great horn which was between his eyes, he is the first king. |
|

|
| він зломився, і замість нього вийшли інші чотири: це — чотири царства постануть з цього народу, але не з його силою. | And as for the one that was broken, in whose place there stood up four horns, four kings shall arise out of his nation, but not in their own strength. |
|

| Під кінець же царства їх, коли відступники довершать міру беззаконь своїх, постане цар нахабний і майстерний у підступництві; | And at the latter time of their kingdom, when their sins are coming to the full, there shall arise a king bold in countenance, and understanding riddles. |
|

| і зміцниться сила його, хоч і не його силою, і він буде чинити дивні спустошення і встигати і діяти і губити сильних і народ святих, | And his power shall be great, and he shall destroy wonderfully, and prosper, and practise, and shall destroy mighty men, and the holy people. |
|

|
| і при розумі його і підступництво буде мати успіх у руці його, і серцем своїм він піднесе, і серед світу погубить багатьох, і проти Владики владик повстане, але буде скрушений — не рукою. | And the yoke of his chain shall prosper: there is craft in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by craft shall destroy many, and he shall stand up for the destruction of many, and shall crush them as eggs in his hand. |

| Видіння ж про вечір і ранок, про які сказано, істинне; але ти приховай це видіння, тому що воно стосується віддалених часів». | And the vision of the evening and morning that was mentioned is true: and do thou seal the vision; for it is for many days. |
|

| І я, Даниїл, занеміг, і хворів кілька днів; потім устав і почав займатися царськими справами; я здивований був видінням цим і не розумів його. | And I Daniel fell asleep, and was sick: then I arose, and did the king's business; and I wondered at the vision, and there was none that understood it. |
