| (Зач. 57) В то вре́м'я усли́ша І́род четвертовла́стник слух Ісу́сов | At that season Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, |

| і рече́ отроко́м свої́м: Сей єсть Іоа́нн Крести́тель; Той воскре́се от ме́ртвих, і сего́ ра́ди си́ли ді́ються о Нем. | and said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore do these powers work in him. |

| І́род бо єм Іоа́нна, связа́ єго́ і всади́ в темни́цю, Іродіа́ди ра́ди, жени́ Фили́ппа, бра́та своєго́; | For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife. |

| глаго́лаше бо єму́ Іоа́нн: не досто́їть ті імі́ти єя́. | For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. |
|

| І хотя́щь єго́ уби́ти, убоя́ся наро́да, зане́ я́ко проро́ка єго́ імі́яху. | And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. |
|

|
| Дню же би́вшу рождества́ І́родова пляса́ дщи Іродіа́дина посреді́ і угоди́ І́родові; | But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced in the midst, and pleased Herod. |
|

|
| ті́мже і с кля́твою ізрече́ єй да́ти, єго́же а́ще воспро́сить. | Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she should ask. |
|

|
| Она́ же нава́ждена ма́терію своє́ю, даждь мі, рече́, зді на блю́ді главу́ Іоа́нна Крести́теля. | And she, being put forward by her mother, saith, Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist. |
|

|
| І печа́лен бисть цар; кля́тви же ра́ди і за возлежа́щих с ним, повелі́ да́ти (єй) | And the king was grieved; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat with him, he commanded it to be given; |
|

|
| і посла́в усі́кну Іоа́нна в темни́ці. | and he sent and beheaded John in the prison. |
|

|
| І принесо́ша главу́ єго́ на блю́ді і да́ша діви́ці; і отнесе́ ма́тері своє́й. | And his head was brought on a platter, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother. |
|

|
| І присту́пльше ученици́ єго́ взя́ша ті́ло (єго́) і погребо́ша є; і прише́дше возвісти́ша Ісу́сові. | And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it; and they went and told Jesus. |
|

|
| І сли́шав Ісу́с оти́де отту́ду в кораблі́ в пу́сто мі́сто єди́н [осо́б]; і сли́шавше наро́ди по Нем ідо́ша пі́ши от градо́в. | And when Jesus heard it, he withdrew from thence in a boat, to a desert place apart: and when the multitudes heard thereof, they followed him on foot from the cities. |

| (Зач. 58) І ізше́д Ісу́с ви́ді мног наро́д, і милосе́рдова о них, і ісціли́ неду́жния їх. | And Jesus came forth, and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. |
|

| По́зді же би́вшу, приступи́ша к Нему́ ученици́ Єго́, глаго́люще: пу́сто єсть мі́сто, і час уже́ мину́; отпусти́ наро́ди, да ше́дше в ве́сі ку́п'ять бра́шна себі́. | And when even was come, his disciples came to him, saying, The place is desert, and the time is already past; send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food. |

| Ісу́с же рече́ їм: не тре́бують отити́; даді́те їм ви я́сти. | But Jesus said unto them, They have no need to go away; give ye them to eat. |
|

| Они́ же глаго́лаша Єму́: не і́мами зді то́кмо п'ять хліб і дві ри́бі. | And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fish. |
|

|
| Он же рече́: принесі́те Мі їх сі́мо. | And he said, Bring them hither to me. |
|

|
| І повелі́в наро́дом возлещи́ на траві́, і приє́м п'ять хліб і о́бі ри́бі, воззрі́в на не́бо, благослови́ і преломи́в даде́ ученико́м хлі́би, ученици́ же наро́дом. | And he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves, and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. |

| І ядо́ша всі і наси́тишася; і взя́ша ізби́тки укру́х, двана́десять ко́ша іспо́лнь; | And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. |
|

| яду́щих же бі муже́й я́ко п'ять ти́сящ, ра́зві жен і діте́й. | And they that did eat were about five thousand men, besides women and children. |
|

|
| (Зач. 59) І а́біє пону́ди Ісу́с ученики́ Своя́ влі́зти в кора́бль і вари́ти Єго́ на о́ном полу́ [предити́ Єму́ на он пол], до́ндеже отпу́стить наро́ди. | And straightaway Jesus constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away. |

| І отпусти́в наро́ди, взи́де на гору́ єди́н помоли́тися; по́зді же би́вшу, єди́н бі ту. | And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone. |
|

| Кора́бль же бі посреді́ мо́ря вла́яся волна́ми; бі бо проти́вен вітр. | But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary. |
|

|
| В четве́ртую же стра́жу но́щі і́де к ним Ісу́с, ходя́ по мо́рю. | And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking upon the sea. |
|

|
| І ви́дівше Єго́ ученици́ по мо́рю ходя́ща, смути́шася, глаго́люще, я́ко призра́к єсть; і от стра́ха возопи́ша. | And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear. |

| А́біє же рече́ їм Ісу́с, глаго́ля: дерза́йте; Аз єсьм, не бо́йтеся. | But straightaway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. |
|

| Отвіща́в же Петр рече́: Го́споди, а́ще Ти єси́, повели́ мі прийти́ к Тебі́ по вода́м. Он же рече́: прийди́. | And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters. |
|

|
| І ізлі́з із корабля́ Петр, хожда́ше по вода́м, прийти́ ко Ісу́сові; | And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters to go to Jesus. |
|

|
| ви́дя же вітр крі́пок, убоя́ся, і наче́н утопа́ти, возопи́, глаго́ля: Го́споди, спаси́ м'я. | But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me. |
|

|
| І а́біє Ісу́с просте́р ру́ку, ят єго́ і глаго́ла єму́: малові́ре, почто́ усумні́лся єси́? | And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? |
|

| І влі́зшема ї́ма в кора́бль, преста́ вітр. | And when they had entered into the boat, the wind ceased. |
|

|
| Су́щії же в кораблі́ прише́дше поклони́шася Єму́, глаго́люще: воі́стину Бо́жий Син єси́. | And they that were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. |
|

| І преше́дше прийдо́ша в зе́млю Геннисаре́фськую. | And when they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret. |
|

35
|
| (Зач. 60) І позна́вше Єго́ му́жіє мі́ста того́, посла́ша во всю страну́ ту, і принесо́ша к Нему́ вся боля́щия; | And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region round about, and brought unto him all that were sick; |
|

|
| і моля́ху Єго́, да то́кмо прико́снуться вскри́лію ри́зи Єго́; і єли́ці прикосну́шася, спасе́нні би́ша. | and they besought him that they might only touch the border of his garment: and as many as touched were made whole. |
