| (Зач. 3) Ісу́су же ро́ждшуся в Вифлеє́мі Іуде́йстім во дні І́рода царя́, се волсви́ от восто́к прийдо́ша во Ієрусали́м, глаго́люще: | Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, |

| гді єсть рожде́йся Цар Іуде́йський? Ви́діхом бо звізду́ Єго́ на восто́ці і прийдо́хом поклони́тися Єму́. | saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him. |

| Сли́шав же І́род цар смути́ся, і весь Ієрусали́м с ним. | And when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. |

| І собра́в вся первосвяще́нники і кни́жники людські́я, вопроша́ше от них: гді Христо́с ражда́ється? | And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born. |

| Они́ же реко́ша єму́: в Вифлеє́мі Іуде́йстім, та́ко бо пи́сано єсть проро́ком: | And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written through the prophet, |

| і ти, Вифлеє́ме, земле́ Іу́дова, ні чи́мже ме́нші єси́ во влади́ках Іу́дових: із тебе́ бо ізи́деть Вождь, І́же упасе́ть лю́ди Моя́, Ізра́їля. | And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come forth a governor, Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel. |

| Тогда́ І́род тай призва́ волхви́, і іспи́товаше от них вре́м'я я́вльшияся звізди́, | Then Herod privily called the wise men, and learned of them exactly what time the star appeared. |

| і посла́в їх в Вифлеє́м, рече́: ше́дше іспита́йте ізві́стно о Отроча́ті; єгда́ же обря́щете, возвісті́те мі, я́ко да і аз шед поклоню́ся Єму́. | And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search out exactly concerning the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word, that I also may come and worship him. |

| Они́ же послу́шавше царя́, ідо́ша. І се, звізда́, ю́же ви́діша на восто́ці, ідя́ше пред ни́ми, до́ндеже прише́дши ста верху́, іді́же бі Отроча́. | And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. |

| Ви́дівше же звізду́, возра́довашася ра́достію ве́лією зіло́, | And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. |

| і прише́дше в хра́мину, ви́діша Отроча́ с Марі́єю, Ма́терію Єго́, і па́дше поклони́шася Єму́; і, отве́рзше сокро́вища своя́, принесо́ша Єму́ да́ри, зла́то і лива́н і сми́рну. | And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshiped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. |

| І вість приє́мше во сні не возврати́тися ко І́роду, іни́м путе́м отидо́ша во страну́ свою́. | And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. |

| (Зач. 4) Отше́дшим же їм, се а́нгел Госпо́день во сні яви́ся Іо́сифу, глаго́ля: воста́в поіми́ Отроча́ і Ма́тер Єго́, і біжи́ во Єги́пет, і бу́ди та́мо, до́ндеже реку́ ті, хо́щеть бо І́род іска́ти Отроча́те, да погуби́ть Є. | Now when they were departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I tell thee: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. |

| Он же воста́в, поя́т Отроча́ і Ма́тер Єго́ но́щію, і оти́де во Єги́пет, | And he arose and took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt; |

| і бі та́мо до уме́ртвія І́родова, да сбу́деться рече́нноє от Го́спода проро́ком, глаго́лющим: от Єги́пта воззва́х Си́на Моєго́. | and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt did I call my son. |

| Тогда́ І́род ви́дів, я́ко пору́ган бисть от волхво́в, разгні́вася зіло́ і посла́в ізби́ вся ді́ти су́щия в Вифлеє́мі і во всіх преді́ліх єго́, от двою́ лі́ту і нижа́йше, по вре́мені, є́же ізві́стно іспита́ от волхво́в. | Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the male children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had exactly learned of the wise men. |

| Тогда́ сби́сться рече́нноє Ієремі́єм проро́ком, глаго́лющим: | Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, |

| глас в Ра́мі сли́шан бисть, плач і рида́ніє і вопль мног; Рахи́ль пла́чущися чад свої́х і не хотя́ше уті́шитися, я́ко не суть. | A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; And she would not be comforted, because they are not. |

| Уме́ршу же І́роду, се а́нгел Госпо́день во сні яви́ся Іо́сифу во Єги́пті, | But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, |
|

|
| глаго́ля: воста́в поіми́ Отроча́ і Ма́тер Єго́ і іди́ в зе́млю Ізра́їлеву, ізомро́ша бо і́щущії душі́ Отроча́те. | saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child’s life. |

| Он же воста́в, поя́т Отроча́ і Ма́тер Єго́ і при́йде в зе́млю Ізра́їлеву. | And he arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. |
|

| Сли́шав же, я́ко Архела́й ца́рствуєть во Іуде́ї вмі́сто І́рода, отця́ своєго́, убоя́ся та́мо іти́; вість же приє́м во сні, оти́де в преді́ли Галіле́йськія. | But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither; and being warned of God in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee, |

| І прише́д всели́ся во гра́ді нарица́ємім Назаре́т, я́ко да сбу́деться рече́нноє проро́ки, я́ко Назоре́й нарече́ться. | and came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene. |
