| Цариця Савська, почувши про славу Соломона в ім’я Господа, прийшла випробувати його загадками. | And the queen of Saba heard of the name of Solomon, and the name of the Lord, and she came to try him with riddles. |

| І прийшла вона в Єрусалим з дуже великим багатством: верблюди нав’ючені були пахощами і великою кількістю золота і коштовного каміння; і прийшла до Соломона і розмовляла з ним про все, що було у неї на серці. | And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train; and there came camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and she came in to Solomon, and told him all that was in her heart. |

| І пояснив їй Соломон усі слова її, і не було нічого невідомого царю, чого він не пояснив би їй. | And Solomon answered all her questions: and there was not a question overlooked by the king which he did not answer her. |

| І побачила цариця Савська всю мудрість Соломона і дім, який він побудував, | And the queen of Saba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he built, |

| і їжу за столом його, і житло рабів його, і стрункість слуг його, і одяг їхній, і виночерпіїв його, і всепалення його, які він приносив у храмі Господньому. І не могла вона більше утриматися | and the provision of Solomon and the sitting of his attendants, and the standing of his servants, and his raiment, and his cup-bearers, and his whole-burnt-offering which he offered in the house of the Lord, and she was utterly amazed. |

| і сказала цареві: правда те, що я чула в землі своїй про діла твої і про мудрість твою; | And she said to king Solomon, It was a true report which I heard in my land of thy words and thy wisdom. |
|

| але я не вірила словам, доки не прийшла, і не побачила очима моїми: і ось, мені й половини не сказано; мудрости і багатства в тебе більше, ніж як я чула. | But I believed not them that told me, until I came and my eyes saw: and, behold, the words as they reported to me are not the half: thou hast exceeded in goodness all the report which I heard in my land. |

| Блаженні люди твої і блаженні ці слуги твої, які завжди стоять перед тобою і чують мудрість твою! | Blessed are thy wives, blessed are these thy servants who stand before thee continually, who hear all thy wisdom. |
|

| Нехай буде благословенний Господь Бог твій, Який благоволив посадити тебе на престіл Ізраїлів! Господь, з вічної любови Своєї до Ізраїля, поставив тебе царем, чинити суд і правду. | Blessed be the Lord thy God, who has taken pleasure in thee, to set thee upon the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel to establish him for ever; and he has made thee king over them, to execute judgment with justice, and in their causes. |

| І подарувала вона царю сто двадцять талантів золота і велику кількість пахощів і коштовне каміння; ніколи ще не приходило такої великої кількості пахощів, як подарувала цариця Савська царю Соломону. | And she gave to Solomon a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and very many spices, and precious stones: there had not come any other spices so abundant as those which the queen of Saba gave to king Solomon. |

| І корабель Хирамів, який привозив золото з Офира, привіз з Офира велику кількість червоного дерева і коштовних каменів. | And the ship of Chiram which brought the gold from Suphir, brought very much hewn timber and precious stones. |

| І зробив цар з цього червоного дерева поручні для храму Господнього і для дому царського, і гуслі і псалтирі для співців; ніколи не приходило стільки червоного дерева і не бачено було до цього дня. | And the king made the hewn timber into buttresses of the house of the Lord and the king's house, and lyres and harps for singers: such hewn timber had not come upon the earth, nor have been seen anywhere until this day. |

| І цар Соломон дав цариці Савській усе, чого вона бажала і чого просила, зверх того, що подарував їй цар Соломон своїми руками. І вирушила вона назад у свою землю, вона й усі слуги її. | And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she desired, whatsoever she asked, besides all that he had given her by the hand of king Solomon: and she returned, and came into her own land, she and her servants. |

| Вага золота, що надходило Соломону щороку, була шістсот шістдесят шість талантів золотих, | And the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold. |

| зверх того, що отримувалося від рознощиків товару і від торгівлі купців, і від усіх царів аравійських і від обласних начальників. | Besides the tributes of them that were subjects, both merchants and all the kings of the country beyond the river, and of the princes of the land. |
|

| І зробив цар Соломон двісті великих щитів з кованого золота, по шістсот сиклів пішло на кожен щит; | And Solomon made three hundred spears of beaten gold: three hundred shekels of gold were upon one spear. |
|

| і триста менших щитів з кованого золота, по три міни золота пішло на кожен щит; і поставив їх цар у домі з ливанського дерева. | And three hundred shields of beaten gold: and three pounds of gold were in one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. |
|

| І зробив цар великий престіл зі слонової кості й обклав його чистим золотом; | And the king made a great ivory throne, and gilded it with pure gold. |
|

| до престолу було шість сходинок; верх позаду престолу був круглий, і були з обох боків у місцях сидіння підлокітники, і два леви стояли біля підлокітників; | The throne had six steps, and calves in bold relief to the throne behind it, and side-pieces on either hand of the place of the seat, and two lions standing by the side-pieces, |

| і ще дванадцять левів стояли там на шести сходинках з обох боків. Подібного до цього не було в жодному царстві. | and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on either side: it was not so done in any other kingdom. |
|

| І весь посуд для пиття у царя Соломона був золотий, і весь посуд в домі з ливанського дерева був з чистого золота; зі срібла нічого не було, тому що срібло в дні Соломона вважалося нічим; | And all the vessels made by Solomon were of gold, and the lavers were golden, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; there was no silver, for it was not accounted of in the days of Solomon. |

| бо у царя був на морі фарсиський корабель з кораблем Хирамовим; один раз на три роки приходив фарсиський корабель, який привозив золото і срібло, і слонову кістку, і мавп, і павичів. | For Solomon had a ship of Tharsis in the sea with the ships of Chiram: one ship came to the king every three years out of Tharsis, laden with gold and silver, and wrought stones, and hewn stones. |

| Цар Соломон перевершував усіх царів землі багатством і мудрістю. | And Solomon increased beyond all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom. |
|

| І всі [царі] на землі хотіли бачити Соломона, щоб послухати мудрість його, яку Бог вклав у серце його. | And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which the Lord had put into his heart. |
|

| І вони підносили йому, кожен від себе, в дар: сосуди срібні і сосуди золоті, і одяг, і зброю, і пахощі, коней і мулів, щороку. | And they brought every one their gifts, vessels of gold, and raiment, and stacte, and spices, and horses, and mules, a rate year by year. |

| І набрав Соломон колісниць і вершників; у нього було тисяча чотириста колісниць* і дванадцять тисяч вершників; і розмістив він їх по колісничних містах і при царі в Єрусалимі. [І панував він над усіма морями від ріки до землі Филистимської і до меж Єгипту.] | And Solomon had four thousand mares for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen: and he put them in the cities of his chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem: |

| І зробив цар срібло в Єрусалимі рівноцінним із простими каменями, а кедри, через їх безліч, зробив рівноцінними із сикоморами, що ростуть на низинних місцях. | And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as the sycamores in the plain for multitude. |

| Коней же царю Соломону приводили з Єгипту і з Куви; царські купці купували їх з Куви за гроші. | And the goings forth of Solomon's horsemen was also out of Egypt, and the king's merchants were of Thecue; and they received them out of Thecue at a price. |

| Колісницю з Єгипту одержували і доставляли за шістсот сиклів срібла, а коня за сто п’ятдесят. У такий же спосіб вони руками своїми доставляли все це царям хеттейським і царям арамейським. | And that which proceeded out of Egypt went up thus, even a chariot for a hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for fifty shekels of silver: and thus for all the kings of the Chettians, and the kings of Syria, they came out by sea. |
