Глава 11	Chapter 11

1	1
І полюбив цар Соломон багато чужоземних жінок, крім дочки фараонової, моавитянок, аммонитянок, ідумеянок, сидонянок, хеттеянок,	And king Solomon was a lover of women. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And he took strange women, as well as the daughter of Pharao, Moabitish, Ammanitish women, Syrians and Idumeans, Chettites, and Amorites;

з тих народів, про які Господь сказав синам Ізраїлевим: «не входьте до них, і вони нехай не входять до вас, щоб вони не схилили серця вашого до своїх богів»; до них приліпився Соломон любов’ю.	of the nations concerning whom the Lord forbade the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall not go in to them, and they shall not come in to you, lest they turn away your hearts after their idols: Solomon clave to these in love.

І було в нього сімсот дружин і триста наложниць; і розбестили дружини його серце його.

В часи старости Соломона дружини його схилили серце його до інших богів, і серце його не було цілком віддане Господу Богу своєму, як серце Давида, батька його.	And it came to pass in the time of the old age of Solomon, that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. And the strange women turned away his heart after their gods.

І став Соломон служити Астарті, божеству сидонському, і Милхому, мерзоті аммонитській.	Then Solomon built a high place to Chamos the idol of Moab, and to their king the idol of the children of Ammon,

І робив Соломон неугодне перед очима Господа і не цілком ішов за Господом, як Давид, батько його.	and to Astarte the abomination of the Sidonians.

Тоді побудував Соломон капище Хамосу, мерзоті моавитській, на горі, що перед Єрусалимом, і Молохові, мерзоті аммонитській.	And thus he acted towards all his strange wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their idols.
8	8
Так зробив він для всіх своїх чужоземних дружин, які кадили і приносили жертви своїм богам.	And Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: he went not after the Lord, as David his father.
9	9
І розгнівався Господь на Соломона за те, що він відхилив серце своє від Господа Бога Ізраїлевого, Який двічі являвся йому,	And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because he turned away his heart from the Lord God of Israel, who had appeared twice to him,
10	10
і заповів йому, щоб він не тримався інших богів; але він не виконав того, що заповів йому Господь [Бог].	and charged him concerning this matter, by no means to go after other gods, but to take heed to do what the Lord God commanded him; neither was his heart perfect with the Lord, according to the heart of David his father.

І сказав Господь Соломону: за те, що так у тебе робиться, і ти не зберіг завіту Мого й уставів Моїх, які Я заповів тобі, Я відторгну від тебе царство і віддам його рабові твоєму;	And the Lord said to Solomon, Because it has been thus with thee, and thou hast not kept my commandments and my ordinances which I commanded thee, I will surely rend thy kingdom out of thy hand, and give it to thy servant.
12	12
але в дні твої Я не зроблю цього заради Давида, батька твого; від руки сина твого відніму його;	Only in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will take it out of the hand of thy son.
13	13
і не все царство відніму; одне коліно дам синові твоєму заради Давида, раба Мого, і заради Єрусалима, який Я обрав.	Only I will not take away the whole kingdom: I will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen.
14	14
І підняв Господь супротивника на Соломона, Адера ідумеянина, з царського Ідумейського роду.	And the Lord raised up an enemy to Solomon, Ader the Idumæan, and Esrom son of Eliadaë who dwelt in Raama, and Adadezer king of Suba his master; (and men gathered to him, and he was head of the conspiracy, and he seized on Damasec,) and they were adversaries to Israel all the days of Solomon: and Ader the Idumæan was of the seed royal in Idumæa.

Коли Давид був у Ідумеї, і воєначальник Іоав прийшов для поховання убитих і побив усю чоловічу стать в Ідумеї, —	And it happened, that while David was utterly destroying Edom, while Joab captain of the host was going to bury the dead, when they slew every male in Idumæa;
16	16
бо шість місяців прожили там Іоав і всі ізраїльтяни, доки не знищили всю чоловічу стать в Ідумеї, —	(for Joab and all Israel abode there six months in Idumæa, until he utterly destroyed every male in Idumæa;)

тоді цей Адер утік у Єгипет і з ним кілька ідумеян, що служили при батькові його; Адер був тоді малою дитиною.	that Ader ran away, he and all the Idumæans of the servants of his father with him; and they went into Egypt; and Ader was then a little child.

Вирушивши з Мадиама, вони прийшли у Фаран і взяли з собою людей з Фарана і прийшли в Єгипет до фараона, царя Єгипетського. [Адер увійшов до фараона, і] він дав йому дім, і призначив йому утримання, і дав йому землю.	And there rise up men out of the city of Madiam, and they come to Pharan, and take men with them, and come to Pharao king of Egypt: and Ader went in to Pharao, and he gave him a house, and appointed him provision.
19	19
Адер здобув у фараона велику милість, так що він дав йому за дружину сестру своєї дружини, сестру цариці Тахпенеси.	And Ader found great favour in the sight of Pharao, and he gave him his wife's sister in marriage, the elder sister of Thekemina.
20	20
І народила йому сестра Тахпенеси сина Генувата. Тахпенеса виховувала його в домі фараоновім; і жив Генуват у домі фараона разом із синами фараоновими.	And the sister of Thekemina bore to him, even to Ader, Ganebath her son; and Thekemina brought him up in the midst of the sons of Pharao, and Ganebath was in the midst of the sons of Pharao.

Коли Адер почув, що Давид спочив з батьками своїми і що воєначальник Іоав помер, то сказав фараонові: відпусти мене, я піду у свою землю.	And Ader heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead; and Ader said to Pharao, Let me go, and I will return to my country.
22	22
І сказав йому фараон: хіба ти маєш потребу в чомусь у мене, що хочеш іти у свою землю? Він відповів: ні, але відпусти мене. [І повернувся Адер у землю свою.]	And Pharao said to Ader, What lackest thou with me? that lo! thou seekest to depart to thy country? and Ader said to him, By all means let me go. So Ader returned to his country;

І підняв Бог проти Соломона ще супротивника, Разона, сина Елиади, який утік від господаря свого Адраазара, царя Сувського,

і, зібравши біля себе людей, зробився начальником зграї, після того, як Давид розбив Адраазара ; і пішли вони в Дамаск, і оселилися там, і володарювали в Дамаску.

І був він супротивником Ізраїлю в усі дні Соломона. Крім зла, заподіяного Адером, він завжди шкодив Ізраїлю і став царем Сирії.	this is the mischief which Ader did, and he was a bitter enemy of Israel, and he reigned in the land of Edom.

І Ієровоам, син Наватів, єфремлянин з Цареди, — ім’я матері його вдови: Церуа, — раб Соломонів, підняв руку на царя.	And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the Ephrathite of Sarira, the son of a widow, was servant of Solomon.
27	27
І ось обставина, за якої він підняв руку на царя: Соломон будував Милло, лагодив пошкодження в місті Давида, батька свого.	And this was the occasion of his lifting up his hands against king Solomon: now king Solomon built the citadel, he completed the fortification of the city of David his father.

Ієровоам був чоловіком мужнім. Соломон, помітивши, що цей молодий чоловік вміє робити справу, поставив його наглядачем над оброчними з дому Йосифового.	And the man Jeroboam was very strong; and Solomon saw the young man that he was active, and he set him over the levies of the house of Joseph.

У той час трапилося Ієровоаму вийти з Єрусалима; і зустрів його на дорозі пророк Ахия силомлянин, і на ньому був новий одяг. На полі їх було тільки двоє.	And it came to pass at that time, that Jeroboam went forth from Jerusalem, and Achia the Selonite the prophet found him in the way, and caused him to turn aside out of the way: and Achia was clad with a new garment, and they two were alone in the field.
30	30
І взяв Ахия новий одяг, який був на ньому, і роздер його на дванадцять частин,	And Achia laid hold of his new garment that was upon him, and tore it into twelve pieces:
31	31
і сказав Ієровоаму: візьми собі десять частин, тому що так говорить Господь Бог Ізраїлів: ось, Я відторгаю царство з руки Соломонової і даю тобі десять колін,	and he said to Jeroboam, Take to thyself ten pieces, for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give thee ten tribes.
32	32
а одне коліно^* залишиться за ним заради раба Мого Давида і заради міста Єрусалима, яке Я обрав з усіх колін Ізраїлевих.	Yet he shall have two tribes, for my servant David's sake, and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.
33	33
Це за те, що вони залишили Мене і стали поклонятися Астарті, божеству сидонському, і Хамосу, богу моавитському, і Милхому, богу аммонитському, і не пішли путями Моїми, щоб робити угодне перед очима Моїми і дотримуватися уставів Моїх і заповідей Моїх, подібно до Давида, батька його.	Because he forsook me, and sacrificed to Astarte the abomination of the Sidonians, and to Chamos, and to the idols of Moab, and to their king the abomination of the children of Ammon, and he walked not in my ways, to do that which was right before me, as David his father did.

Я не беру всього царства з руки його, але Я залишаю його владикою на всі дні життя його заради Давида, раба Мого, якого Я обрав, який дотримувався заповідей Моїх і уставів Моїх;	Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, (for I will certainly resist him all the days of his life,) for David my servant's sake, whom I have chosen.
35	35
але візьму царство з руки сина його і дам тобі з нього десять колін;	But I will take the kingdom out of the hand of his son, and give thee ten tribes.
36	36
а синові його дам одне коліно, щоб залишався світильник Давида, раба Мого, в усі дні перед лицем Моїм, у місті Єрусалимі, яке Я обрав Собі для перебування там імені Мого.	But to his son I will give the two remaining tribes, that my servant David may have an establishment continually before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.
37	37
Тебе Я обираю, і ти будеш володарювати над усім, чого побажає душа твоя, і будеш царем над Ізраїлем;	And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign as thy soul desires, and thou shalt be king over Israel.
38	38
і якщо будеш дотримуватися всього, що Я заповідаю тобі, і будеш ходити путями Моїми і робити угодне перед очима Моїми, дотримуючись уставів Моїх і заповідей Моїх, як робив раб Мій Давид, то Я буду з тобою й зроблю твій дім міцним, як Я зробив Давиду, і віддам тобі Ізраїля;	And it shall come to pass, if thou wilt keep all the commandments that I shall give thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that which is right before me, to keep my ordinances and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with thee, and will build thee a sure house, as I built to David.

і смирю Я рід Давидів за це, але не на всі дні.
40	40
Соломон же хотів умертвити Ієровоама; але Ієровоам встав і втік у Єгипет до Сусакима, царя Єгипетського, і жив у Єгипті до смерті Соломонової.	And Solomon sought to slay Jeroboam: but he arose and fled into Egypt, to Susakim king of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until Solomon died.
41	41
Інші події Соломонові й усе, що він робив, і мудрість його описані в книзі діл Соломонових.	And the rest of the history of Solomon, and all that he did, and all his wisdom, behold are not these things written in the book of the life of Solomon?

Царював Соломон в Єрусалимі над усім Ізраїлем сорок років.	And the days during which Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel were forty years.
43	43
І спочив Соломон з батьками своїми і похований був у місті Давида, батька свого, і став царем замість нього син його Ровоам.	And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father. And it came to pass when Jeroboam son of Nabat heard of it, even while he was yet in Egypt as he fled from the face of Solomon and dwelt in Egypt, he straightway comes into his own city, into the land of Sarira in the mount of Ephraim. And king Solomon slept with his fathers, and Roboam his son reigned in his stead.
