| Тоді на Азарію, сина Одедового, зійшов Дух Божий, | And Azarias the son of Oded—upon him came the Spirit of the Lord, |

| і вийшов він назустріч Асі і сказав йому: послухайте мене, Асо і весь Іуда і Веніамін: Господь з вами, коли ви з Ним; і якщо будете шукати Його, Він буде знайдений вами; якщо ж залишите Його, Він залишить вас. | and he went out to meet Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin, and said, Hear me, Asa, and all Juda and Benjamin. The Lord is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him out, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. |

| Багато днів Ізраїль буде без Бога істинного, і без священика, який вчить, і без закону; | And Israel has been a long time without the true God, and without a priest to expound the truth, and without the law. |
|

| але коли він навернеться у скруті своїй до Господа Бога Ізраїлевого і знайде Його, Він дасть їм знайти Себе. | But he shall turn them to the Lord God of Israel, and he will be found of them. |
|

| У ті часи не буде миру ні для того, хто виходить, ні для того, хто входить, бо великі заворушення будуть у всіх жителів земель; | And in that time there is no peace to one going out, or to one coming in, for the terror of the Lord is upon all that inhabit the lands. |
|

|
| народ буде воювати з народом, і місто з містом, тому що Бог приведе їх у сум’яття всякими бідами. | And nation shall fight against nation, and city against city; for God has confounded them with every kind of affliction. |
|

| Але ви зміцнитеся, і нехай не слабшають руки ваші, тому що є відплата за діла ваші. | But be ye strong, and let not your hands be weakened: for there is a reward for your work. |
|

| Коли почув Аса слова ці і пророцтво [Азарії], сина Одеда пророка, то підбадьорився і викинув мерзоти язичницькі з усієї землі Іудиної і Веніамінової і з міст, які він узяв на горі Єфремовій, і оновив жертовник Господній, що перед притвором Господнім. | And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Adad the prophet, then he strengthened himself, and cast out the abominations from all the land of Juda and Benjamin, and from the cities which Jeroboam possessed, in mount Ephraim, and he renewed the altar of the Lord, which was before the temple of the Lord. |

| І зібрав всього Іуду і Веніаміна і тих, що живуть з ними, переселенців від Єфрема і Манассії і Симеона; тому що багато хто від Ізраїля перейшли до нього, коли побачили, що Господь, Бог його, з ним. | And he assembled Juda and Benjamin, and the strangers that dwelt with him, of Ephraim, and of Manasse, and of Symeon: for many of Israel were joined to him, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him. |

| І зібралися в Єрусалимі у третій місяць, у п’ятнадцятий рік царювання Аси; | And they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. |

|
| і принесли в день той жертву Господу зі здобичі, яку привели, з великої худоби сімсот і з дрібної сім тисяч; | And he sacrificed to the Lord in that day of the spoils which they brought, seven hundred calves and seven thousand sheep. |
|

|
| і вступили в завіт, щоб шукати Господа Бога батьків своїх від усього серця свого і від усієї душі своєї; | And he entered into a covenant that they should seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul. |
|

|
| а всякий, хто не стане шукати Господа Бога Ізраїлевого, повинен померти, малий він чи великий, чоловік чи жінка. | And that whoever should not seek the Lord God of Israel, should die, whether young or old, whether man or woman. |
|

|
| І клялися Господу голосно і з вигуками і при звуках труб і рогів. | And they swore to the Lord with a loud voice, and with trumpets, and with cornets. |
|

|
15
|
| І раділи всі юдеї цій клятві, тому що від усього серця свого клялися і з усією щирістю шукали Його, і Він дав їм знайти Себе. І дав їм Господь спокій з усіх боків. | And all Juda rejoiced concerning the oath: for they swore with all their heart, and they sought him with all their desires; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about. |

| І Мааху, матір свою, цар Аса позбавив царського достоїнства за те, що вона зробила ідола для діброви. І зруйнував Аса ідола її, і порубав на шматки, і спалив у долині Кедрона. | And he removed Maacha his mother from being priestess to Astarte; and he cut down the idol, and burnt it in the brook of Kedron. |

| Хоча висоти не були знищені в Ізраїлі, але серце Аси було цілком віддане Господу в усі дні його. | Nevertheless they removed not the high places: they still existed in Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. |
|

|
| І вніс він посвячене батьком його і свою посвяту в дім Божий, срібло і золото і сосуди. | And he brought in the holy things of David his father, and the holy things of the house of God, silver, and gold, and vessels. |
|

19
|
| І не було війни до тридцять п’ятого року царювання Аси. | And there was no war waged with him until the thirty-fifth year of the reign of Asa. |
