| Цариця Савська, почувши про славу Соломона, прийшла випробувати Соломона загадками в Єрусалим, з дуже великим багатством, і з верблюдами, нав’юченими пахощами і безліччю золота і дорогоцінних каменів. І прийшла до Соломона і розмовляла з ним про все, що було на серці у неї. | And the queen of Saba heard of the name of Solomon, and she came to Jerusalem with a very large force, to prove Solomon with hard questions, and she had camels bearing spices in abundance, and gold, and precious stones: and she came to Solomon, and told him all that was in her mind. |

| І пояснив їй Соломон усі слова її, і не знайшлося нічого незнайомого Соломону, чого він не пояснив би їй. | And Solomon told her all her words; and there passed not a word from Solomon which he told her not. |

| І побачила цариця Савська мудрість Соломона і дім, який він побудував, | And the queen of Saba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house which he had built, |

| і їжу за столом його, і житло рабів його, і добропристойність службовців його й одяг їхній, і виночерпіїв його й одяг їхній, і хід, яким він ходив у дім Господній, — і була вона у захопленні. | and the meat of the tables, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their raiment; and his cupbearers, and their apparel; and the whole-burnt-offerings which he offered up in the house of the Lord; then she was in ecstasy. |

| І сказала цареві: правда те, що я чула в землі моїй про справи твої і про мудрість твою, | And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in my land concerning thy words, and concerning thy wisdom. |

| але я не вірила словам про них, доки не прийшла і не побачила очима своїми. І ось, мені і наполовину не сказано про безліч мудрости твоєї: ти перевершуєш поголос, який я чула. | Yet I believed not the reports until I came, and my eyes saw: and, behold, the half of the abundance of thy wisdom was not told me: thou hast exceeded the report which I heard. |

| Блаженні люди твої, і блаженні ці слуги твої, що завжди стоять перед тобою і чують мудрість твою! | Blessed are thy men, blessed are these thy servants, who stand before thee continually, and hear thy wisdom. |

| Нехай буде благословенний Господь Бог твій, Який благозволив посадити тебе на престіл Свій царем у Господа Бога твого. З любови Бога твого до Ізраїля, щоб утвердити його навіки, Він поставив тебе царем над ним — чинити суд і правду. | Blessed be the Lord thy God, who took pleasure in thee, to set thee upon his throne for a king, to the Lord thy God: forasmuch as the Lord thy God loved Israel to establish them for ever, therefore he has set thee over them for a king to execute judgment and justice. |

| І подарувала вона царю сто двадцять талантів золота і багато пахощів і коштовних каменів; і не бувало таких пахощів, які подарувала цариця Савська царю Соломону. | And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones: and there were not any where else such spices as those which the queen of Saba gave king Solomon. |

| І слуги Хирамові і слуги Соломонові, які привезли золото з Офира, привезли і червоне дерево і коштовні камені. | And the servants of Solomon and the servants of Chiram brought gold to Solomon out of Suphir, and pine timber, and precious stones. |

| І зробив цар з цього червоного дерева сходи до дому Господнього і до дому царського, і цитри і псалтирі для співців. І не бачено було подібного до цього раніше в землі Юдейській. | And the king made of the pine timber steps to the house of the Lord, and to the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers: and such were not seen before in the land of Juda. |

| Цар же Соломон дав цариці Савській усе, чого вона бажала і чого вона просила, крім таких речей, які вона привезла цареві. І вона вирушила назад у землю свою, вона і слуги її. | And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she requested, besides all that she brought to king Solomon: and she returned to her own land. |

| Вага золота, що приходило до Соломона в один рік, була шістсот шістдесят шість талантів золота. | And the weight of the gold that was brought to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold, |

| Поверх того, посли і купці приносили, і всі царі аравійські і начальники обласні приносили золото і срібло Соломону. | besides what the men who were regularly appointed and the merchants brought, and all the kings of Arabia and princes of the land: all brought gold and silver to king Solomon. |

| І зробив цар Соломон двісті великих щитів з кованого золота, — по шістсот сиклів кованого золота пішло на кожен щит, — | And king Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold: there were six hundred shekels of pure gold to one shield. |

| і триста щитів менших з кованого золота, — по триста сиклів золота пішло на кожен щит; і поставив їх цар у домі з ливанського дерева. | And three hundred bucklers of beaten gold: the weight of three hundred gold shekels went to one buckler: and the king placed them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. |

| І зробив цар великий престіл зі слонової кістки й обклав його чистим золотом, | And the king made a great throne of ivory, and he gilded it with pure gold. |

| і шість сходинок до престолу і золоте підніжжя, до престолу прироблене, і підлокітники з обох боків місця сидіння, і двох левів, які стоять біля підлокітників, | And there were six steps to the throne, riveted with gold, and elbows on either side of the seat of the throne, and two lions standing by the elbows: |

| і ще дванадцять левів, які стоять там на шести східцях, з обох боків Не бувало такого [престолу] у жодному царстві. | and twelve lions standing there on the six steps on each side. There was not the like in any other kingdom. |
|

| І весь посуд для пиття у царя Соломона був із золота, і всі сосуди в домі з ливанського дерева були із золота добірного; срібло в дні Соломона ставилося за ніщо, | And all king Solomon's vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were covered with gold: silver was not thought anything of in the days of Solomon. |

| бо кораблі царя ходили у Фарсис зі слугами Хирама, і на три роки раз поверталися кораблі з Фарсиса і привозили золото і срібло, слонову кістку і мавп і павичів. | For a ship went for the king to Tharsis with the servants of Chiram: once every three years came vessels from Tharsis to the king, laden with gold, and silver, and ivory, and apes. |

| І перевершив цар Соломон усіх царів землі багатством і мудрістю. | And Solomon exceeded all other kings both in riches and wisdom. |
|

| І всі царі землі прагнули бачити Соломона, щоб послухати мудрість його, яку вклав Бог у серце його. | And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. |
|

| І кожен з них підносив від себе в дарунок сосуди срібні і сосуди золоті й одяг, зброю і пахощі, коней і ослів, з року в рік. | And they brought every one his gifts, silver vessels and golden vessels, and raiment, myrrh and spices, horses and mules, a rate every year. |

| І було в Соломона чотири тисячі стійл для коней і колісниць і дванадцять тисяч вершників; і він розмістив їх у містах колісничних і при цареві — в Єрусалимі; | And Solomon had four thousand mares for chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he put them in the chariot cities, and with the king in Jerusalem. |

| і царював він над усіма царями, від ріки Євфрату до землі Филистимської і до меж Єгипту. | And he ruled over all the kings from the river even to the land of the Philistines, and to the borders of Egypt. |

| І зробив цар [золото і] срібло в Єрусалимі рівноцінним простому каменю, а кедри, за їх безліччю, зробив рівноцінними сикоморам, що на низьких місцях. | And the king made gold and silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars as the sycamore trees in the plain for abundance. |

| Коней приводили Соломону з Єгипту і з усіх земель. | And Solomon imported horses from Egypt, and from every other country. |

| Інші діяння Соломонові, перші й останні, описані в записах Нафана пророка і в пророцтві Ахиї силомлянина й у видіннях прозорливця Іоїля про Ієровоама, сина Наватового. | And the rest of the acts of Solomon, the first and the last, behold, these are written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Achia the Selonite, and in the visions of Joel the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nabat. |

| Царював же Соломон в Єрусалимі над усім Ізраїлем сорок років. | And Solomon reigned over all Israel forty years. |

| І спочив Соломон з батьками своїми, і поховали його в місті Давида, батька його. І став царем Ровоам, син його, замість нього. | And Solomon fell asleep, and they buried him in the city of David his father: and Roboam his son reigned in his stead. |
