| І почав Соломон будувати дім Господній у Єрусалимі на горі Моріа, яка вказана була Давиду, батькові його, на місці, яке приготував Давид, на току Орни ієвусеянина. | And Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem in the mount of Amoria, where the Lord appeared to his father David, in the place which David had prepared in the threshing-floor of Orna the Jebusite. |

| Почав же він будувати у другий день другого місяця, у четвертий рік царювання свого. | And he began to build in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. |

| І ось основа, покладена Соломоном при будівництві дому Божого: довжина його шістдесят ліктів, за попередньою міркою, а ширина двадцять ліктів; | And thus Solomon began to build the house of God: the length in cubits—even the first measurement from end to end, was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. |

| і притвор, який перед домом, довжиною за шириною дому в двадцять ліктів, а висотою у сто двадцять. І обклав його всередині чистим золотом. | And the portico in front of the house, its length in front of the breadth of the house was twenty cubits, and its height a hundred and twenty cubits: and he gilded it within with pure gold. |

| Дім же головний обшив деревом кипарисовим і обклав його кращим золотом, і зробив на ньому пальми і ланцюжки. | And he lined the great house with cedar wood, and gilded it with pure gold, and carved upon it palm-trees and chains. |

| І обклав дім дорогими каменями для краси; золото ж було золото парваїмське. | And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty; and he gilded it with gold of the gold from Pharuim. |

| І покрив золотом дім, колоди, пороги і стіни його, [і вікна] і двері його, і вирізав на стінах херувимів. | And he gilded the house, and its inner walls, and the door-posts, and the roofs, and the doors with gold; and he carved cherubs on the walls. |

| І зробив Святе Святих: довжина його за шириною дому у двадцять ліктів, і ширина його у двадцять ліктів; і покрив його кращим золотом на шістсот талантів. | And he built the holy of holies, its length was according to the front of the other house, the breadth of the house was twenty cubits, and the length twenty cubits: and he gilded it with pure gold for cherubs, to the amount of six hundred talents. |

| У цвяхах ваги до п’ятдесяти сиклів золота [у кожному цвяху]. Світлиці також покрив золотом. | And the weight of the nails, even the weight of each was fifty shekels of gold: and he gilded the upper chamber with gold. |

| І зробив він у Святому Святих двох херувимів різьбленої роботи і покрив їх золотом. | And he made two cherubs in the most holy house, wood-work, and he gilded them with gold. |

| Крила херувимів були довжиною у двадцять ліктів. Одне крило в п’ять ліктів торкалося стіни дому, а друге крило теж у п’ять ліктів сходилося з крилом другого херувима; | And the wings of the cherubs were twenty cubits in length: and one wing of five cubits touched the wall of the house: and the other wing of five cubits touched the wing of the other cherub. |

| так само і крило другого херувима в п’ять ліктів торкалося стіни дому, а друге крило в п’ять ліктів сходилося з крилом другого херувима. | |

| Крила цих херувимів були розпростерті на двадцять ліктів; і вони стояли на ногах своїх, лицями своїми до храму. | And the wings of these cherubs expanded were of the length of twenty cubits: and they stood upon their feet, and their faces were toward the house. |

| І зробив завісу з яхонтової, пурпурової і багряної тканини і з висону і зобразив на ній херувимів. | And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and wove cherubs in it. |

| І зробив перед храмом два стовпи, довжиною по тридцять п’ять ліктів, і капітелі на верху кожного в п’ять ліктів. | Also he made in front of the house two pillars, in height thirty-five cubits, and their chapiters of five cubits. |

| І зробив ланцюжки, як у святилищі, і поклав на верху стовпів, і зробив сто ґранатових яблук і поклав на ланцюжки. | And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains. |

| І поставив стовпи перед храмом, один з правого боку, другий з лівого, і дав ім’я правому Іахин, а лівому ім’я Воаз. | And he set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left: and he called the name of the one on the right hand ‘Stability,’ and the name of the one on the left ‘Strength.’ |
