| І спочив Іосафат з батьками своїми, і похований з батьками своїми в місті Давидовому. І став царем Іорам, син його, замість нього. | And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Joran his son reigned in his stead. |

| І в нього були брати, сини Іосафата: Азарія та Ієхиїл, і Захарія й Азарія, і Михаїл і Сафатія: усі ці сини Іосафата, царя Ізраїлевого. | And he had brothers, the six sons of Josaphat, Azarias, and Jeiel, and Zacharias, and Azarias, and Michael, and Zaphatias: all these were the sons of Josaphat king of Juda. |

| І дав їм батько їхній великі подарунки сріблом і золотом і коштовностями, разом з укріпленими містами в Юдеї; царство ж віддав Іораму, тому що він первісток. | And their father gave them many gifts, silver, and gold, and arms, together with fortified cities in Juda: but he gave the kingdom to Joram, for he was the first-born. |

| І вступив Іорам на царство батька свого й утвердився, й умертвив усіх братів своїх мечем і також деяких із князів Ізраїлевих. | And Joram entered upon his kingdom, and strengthened himself, and slew all his brothers with the sword, and some of the princes of Israel. |

| Тридцяти двох років був Іорам, коли став царем, і вісім років царював у Єрусалимі; | When he was thirty and two years old, Joram succeeded to his kingdom, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. |
|

| і ходив він шляхом царів ізраїльських, як робив дім Ахавів, тому що дочка Ахава була дружиною його, — і робив він неугодне в очах Господніх. | And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Achaab; for a daughter of Achaab was his wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord: |

| Однак же не хотів Господь погубити дім Давида заради завіту, який уклав з Давидом, і тому що обіцяв дати йому світильник і синам його на всі часи. | nevertheless the Lord would not utterly destroy the house of David, because of the covenant which he made with David, and as he said to him that he would give a light to him and his sons for ever. |

| У дні його вийшов Едом з-під влади Іуди, і поставили над собою царя. | In those days Edom revolted from Juda, and they made a king over themselves. |

| І пішов Іорам з воєначальниками своїми, і всі колісниці з ним; і вставши вночі, вразив ідумеян, які оточили його і начальників над колісницями [і побіг народ в оселі свої]. | And Joram went with the princes, and all the cavalry with him: and it came to pass that he arose by night, and smote Edom that compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots, and the people fled to their tents. |

| Однак вийшов Едом з-під влади Іуди до цього дня. У той же час вийшла і Ливна з-під влади його, тому що він залишив Господа Бога батьків своїх. | And Edom revolted from Juda until this day. Then Lomna at that time revolted from under his hand, because he forsook the Lord God of his fathers. |

| Також висоти спорудив він на горах юдейських, і ввів у блуд жителів Єрусалима і спокусив Юдею. | For he built high places in the cities of Juda, and caused the dwellers in Jerusalem to go a-whoring, and led Juda astray. |

| І прийшов до нього лист від Іллі пророка, в якому було сказано: так говорить Господь Бог Давида, батька твого: за те, що ти не пішов путями Іосафата, батька твого, і путями Аси, царя Юдейського, | And there came to him a message in writing from Eliu the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of thy father David, Because thou hast not walked in the way of thy father Josaphat, nor in the ways of Asa king of Juda, |

| а пішов шляхом царів ізраїльських і ввів у блуд Юдею і жителів Єрусалима, як вводив у блуд дім Ахавів, ще ж і братів твоїх, дім батька твого, які кращі за тебе, ти умертвив, | but hast walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and hast caused Juda and the dwellers in Jerusalem to go a-whoring, as the house of Achaab caused Israel to go a-whoring, and thou hast slain thy brethren, the sons of thy father, who were better than thyself; |

| за те, ось Господь уразить поразкою великою народ твій і синів твоїх, і дружин твоїх, і все майно твоє, | behold, the Lord shall smite thee with a great plague among thy people, and thy sons, and thy wives, and all thy store: |
|

| тебе ж самого – хворобою тяжкою, хворобою нутрощів твоїх до того, що будуть випадати нутрощі твої від хвороби день у день. | and thou shalt be afflicted with a grievous disease, with a disease of the bowels, until thy bowels shall fall out day by day with the sickness. |

| І збудив Господь проти Іорама дух филистимлян і аравитян, суміжних з ефіоплянами; | So the Lord stirred up the Philistines against Joram, and the Arabians, and those who bordered on the Æthiopians: |
|

| і вони пішли на Юдею й увірвалися в неї, і захопили все майно, що знаходилося в домі царя, також і синів його і дружин його; і не залишилося в нього сина, крім Охозії, меншого із синів його. | and they went up against Juda, and prevailed against them, and took away all the store which they found in the house of the king, and his sons, and his daughters; and there was no son left to him but Ochozias the youngest of his sons. |

| А після всього цього вразив Господь нутрощі його хворобою невиліковною. | And after all these things the Lord smote him in the bowels with an incurable disease. |
|

|
| Так було день за днем, а до кінця другого року випали нутрощі його від хвороби його, і він помер у жорстоких стражданнях; і не спалив для нього народ його пахощів, як робив те для батьків його. | And it continued from day to day: and when the time of the days came to two years, his bowels fell out with the disease, and he died by a grievous distemper: and his people performed no funeral, like the funeral of his fathers. |

| Тридцяти двох років був він, коли став царем, і вісім років царював у Єрусалимі, і відійшов неоплаканий, і поховали його в місті Давидовому, але не в царських гробницях. | He was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he departed without honour, and was buried in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings. |
