Слухайте це, священики, і дослухайтеся, доме Ізраїлів, і прихиліть вухо, доме царя; бо вам буде суд, тому що ви були пасткою у Массифі і сіттю, раскинутою на Фаворі.

Hear these things, ye priests; and attend, O house of Israel; and hearken, O house of the king; for the controversy is with you, because ye have been a snare in Scopia, and as a net spread on Itabyrium,

Глибоко загрузли вони у розпусті; але Я покараю всіх їх.
|
which they that hunt the prey have fixed: but I will correct you.
|

|
Єфрема Я знаю, й Ізраїль не утаєний від Мене; бо ти блудодієш, Єфреме, й Ізраїль осквернився.
|
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not far from me: for now Ephraim has gone grievously a-whoring, Israel is defiled.
|

|
|
Діла їх не допускають їх навернутися до Бога свого, бо дух блуду всередині них, і Господа вони не пізнали.
|
They have not framed their counsels to return to their God, for the spirit of fornication is in them, and they have not known the Lord.
|

|
І гордість Ізраїля принижена в очах їх; і Ізраїль і Єфрем упадуть від нечестя свого; впаде й Іуда з ними.
|
And the pride of Israel shall be brought low before his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall in their iniquities; and Judas also shall fall with them.
|

|
З вівцями своїми і волами своїми підуть шукати Господа і не знайдуть Його: Він відійшов від них.
|
They shall go with sheep and calves diligently to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them.
|
|

|
|
Господу вони зрадили, тому що народили чужих дітей; нині новий місяць поїсть їх з їхнім майном.
|
For they have forsaken the Lord; for strange children have been born to them: now shall the cankerworm devour them and their heritages.
|
|

|
Засурміть рогом у Гиві, трубою у Рамі; виголошуйте у Беф-Авені: «за тобою, Веніаміне!»
|
Blow ye the trumpet on the hills, sound aloud on the heights: proclaim in the house of On, Benjamin is amazed.
|
|

|
|
Єфрем зробиться пустелею у день покарання; між колінами Ізраїлевими Я звістив це.
|
Ephraim has come to nought in the days of reproof: in the tribes of Israel I have shown faithful dealings.
|
|

|
|
Вожді Іудині стали подібні до тих, хто пересуває межі: виллю на них гнів Мій, як воду.
|
The princes of Juda became as they that removed the bounds: I will pour out upon them my fury as water.
|

|
Пригнічений Єфрем, уражений судом; бо захотів ходити услід за суєтними.
|
Ephraim altogether prevailed against his adversary, he trod judgment under foot, for he began to go after vanities.
|
|

|
|
І буду як міль для Єфрема і як черва для дому Іудиного.
|
Therefore I will be as consternation to Ephraim, and as a goad to the house of Juda.
|
|

|
|
І побачив Єфрем хворобу свою, й Іуда — свою рану, і пішов Єфрем до Ассура, і послав до царя Іарева; але він не може зцілити вас, і не вилікує вас від рани.
|
And Ephraim saw his disease, and Judas his pain; then Ephraim went to the Assyrians, and sent ambassadors to king Jarim: but he could not heal you, and your pain shall in nowise cease from you.
|

|
Бо Я як лев для Єфрема і як скимен для дому Іудиного; Я, Я розтерзаю, і піду; віднесу, і ніхто не спасе.
|
Wherefore I am as a panther to Ephraim, and as a lion to the house of Juda: and I will tear, and go away; and I will take, and there shall be none to deliver.

|
Піду, повернуся у Моє місце, доки вони не визнають себе винними і не знайдуть лиця Мого.
|
I will go and return to my place, until they are brought to nought, and then shall they seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me early, saying,
