| Отже, люби Господа, Бога твого, і дотримуй, що повелено Ним дотримувати, і постанови Його і закони Його і заповіді Його в усі дні. | Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and shalt observe his appointments, and his ordinances, and his commandments, and his judgments, always. |

| І згадайте нині, — бо я говорю не з синами вашими, які не знають і не бачили покарання Господа Бога вашого, — Його велич [і] Його міцну руку і велику силу Його, | And ye shall know this day; for I speak not to your children, who know not and have not seen the discipline of the Lord thy God, and his wonderful works, and his strong hand, and his high arm, |

| знамення Його і діла Його, які Він зробив серед Єгипту з фараоном, царем Єгипетським, і з усією землею його, | and his miracles, and his wonders, which he wrought in the midst of Egypt on Pharao king of Egypt, and all his land; |

| і що Він зробив з військом єгипетським, з конями його і колісницями його, яких Він потопив у водах Червоного моря, коли вони гналися за вами, — і погубив їх Господь [Бог] навіть до цього дня; | and what he did to the host of the Egyptians, and to their chariots, and their cavalry, and their host; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overwhelm the face of them as they pursued after you, and the Lord destroyed them until this day; |

| і що Він робив для вас у пустелі, доки ви не дійшли до місця цього, | and all the things which he did to you in the wilderness until ye came into this place; |

| і що Він зробив з Дафаном і Авироном, синами Елиава, сина Рувимового, коли земля розверзла вуста свої і серед усього Ізраїля поглинула їх і сімейства їхні, і намети їхні, і все майно їхнє, що було в них; | and all things that he did to Dathan and Abiron the sons of Eliab the son of Ruben, whom the earth opening her mouth swallowed up, and their houses, and their tents, and all their substance that was with them, in the midst of all Israel: |

| бо очі ваші бачили усі великі діла Господа, які Він зробив. | for your eyes have seen all the mighty works of the Lord, which he wrought among you to-day. |

|
| Отже, дотримуйте всіх заповідей [Його], які я заповідаю вам сьогодні, щоб ви [були живі,] зміцнилися і пішли й оволоділи землею, в яку ви переходите [за Йордан], щоб оволодіти нею; | And ye shall keep all his commandments, as many as I command thee to-day, that ye may live, and be multiplied, and that ye may go in and inherit the land, into which ye go across Jordan to inherit it: |

| і щоб ви жили багато часу на тій землі, яку клявся Господь батькам вашим дати їм і сімені їхньому на землі, в якій тече молоко і мед. | that ye may live long upon the land, which the Lord sware to your fathers to give to them, and to their seed after them, a land flowing with milk and honey. |

| Бо земля, у яку ти йдеш, щоб оволодіти нею, не така, як земля Єгипетська, з якої вийшли ви, де ти, посіявши насіння твоє, поливав [її] за допомогою ніг твоїх, як оливковий сад; | For the land into which thou goest to inherit it, is not as the land of Egypt, whence ye came out, whensoever they sow the seed, and water it with their feet, as a garden of herbs: |

| але земля, у яку ви переходите, щоб оволодіти нею, є земля з горами і долинами, і від дощу небесного напоюється водою, — | but the land into which thou goest to inherit it, is a land of mountains and plains; it shall drink water of the rain of heaven. |

| земля, про яку Господь, Бог твій, піклується: очі Господа, Бога твого, безперестанно на ній, від початку року і до кінця року. | A land which the Lord thy God surveys continually, the eyes of the Lord thy God are upon it from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. |

| Якщо ви будете слухати заповіді Мої, які заповідаю вам сьогодні, любити Господа, Бога вашого, і служити Йому від усього серця вашого і від усієї душі вашої, | Now if ye will indeed hearken to all the commands which I charge thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to serve him with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, |

| то дам землі вашій дощ у свій час, ранній і пізній; і ти збереш хліб твій і вино твоє і єлей твій; | then he shall give to thy land the early and latter rain in its season, and thou shalt bring in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. |

|
| і дам траву на полі твоєму для худоби твоєї, і будеш їсти і насичуватися. | And he shall give food in thy fields to thy cattle; and when thou hast eaten and art full, |

|
| Бережіться, щоб не спокусилося серце ваше, і ви не ухилилися і не стали служити іншим богам і не поклонилися їм; | take heed to thyself that thy heart be not puffed up, and ye transgress, and serve other gods, and worship them: |
|

|
| і тоді запалає гнів Господа на вас, і закриє Він небо, і не буде дощу, і земля не принесе плодів своїх, і ви швидко загинете на добрій землі, яку Господь дає вам. | and the Lord be angry with you, and restrain the heaven; and there shall not be rain, and the earth shall not yield its fruit, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land, which the Lord has given you. |

| Отже, покладіть ці слова Мої в серце ваше й у душу вашу, і нав’яжіть їх як ознаку на руку свою, і нехай будуть вони пов’язкою над очима вашими; | And ye shall store these words in your heart and in your soul, and ye shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and it shall be fixed before your eyes. |

| і навчайте їх синів своїх, говорячи про них, коли ти сидиш у домі твоєму, і коли йдеш дорогою, і коли лягаєш, і коли встаєш; | And ye shall teach them to your children, so as to speak about them when thou sittest in the house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou sleepest, and when thou risest up. |

| і напиши їх на одвірках дому твого і на воротах твоїх, | And ye shall write them on the lintels of your houses, and on your gates; |

|
| щоб стільки ж багато було днів ваших і днів дітей ваших на тій землі, яку Господь клявся дати батькам вашим, скільки днів небо буде над землею. | that your days may be long, and the days of your children, upon the land which the Lord sware to your fathers to give to them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. |

| Бо якщо ви будете дотримувати всіх заповідей цих, які заповідаю вам виконувати, будете любити Господа, Бога вашого, ходити всіма путями Його і приліплюватися до Нього, | And it shall come to pass that if ye will indeed hearken to all these commands, which I charge thee to observe this day, to love the Lord our God, and to walk in all his ways, and to cleave close to him; |

| то прожене Господь усі народи ці від лиця вашого, і ви оволодієте народами, які більші і сильніші за вас; | then the Lord shall cast out all these nations before you, and ye shall inherit great nations and stronger than yourselves. |
|

|
| усяке місце, на яке ступить нога ваша, буде ваше; від пустелі й Ливану, від ріки, ріки Євфрату, навіть до моря західного будуть межі ваші; | Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Antilibanus, and from the great river, the river Euphrates, even as far as the west sea shall be your coasts. |

| ніхто не устоїть проти вас: Господь, Бог ваш, наведе страх і трепет перед вами на всяку землю, на яку ви ступите, як Він говорив вам. | No one shall stand before you; and the Lord your God will put the fear of you and the dread of you on the face of all the land, on which ye shall tread, as he told you. |

| Ось, я пропоную вам сьогодні благословення і прокляття: | Behold, I set before you this day the blessing and the curse; |

|
| благословення, якщо послухаєте заповідей Господа, Бога вашого, які я заповідаю вам сьогодні, | the blessing, if ye hearken to the commands of the Lord your God, all that I command you this day; |
|

|
| а прокляття, якщо не послухаєте заповідей Господа, Бога вашого, і ухилитеся від путі, яку заповідаю вам сьогодні, і підете вслід богів інших, яких ви не знаєте. | and the curse, if ye do not hearken to the commands of the Lord our God, as many as I command you this day, and ye wander from the way which I have commanded you, having gone to serve other gods, which ye know not. |

| Коли введе тебе Господь, Бог твій, у ту землю, у яку ти йдеш, щоб оволодіти нею, тоді проголоси благословення на горі Гаризим, а прокляття на горі Гевал: | And it shall come to pass when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land into which thou goest over to inherit it, then thou shalt put blessing on mount Garizin, and the curse upon mount Gæbal. |

| ось вони за Йорданом, по дорозі до заходу сонця, у землі хананеїв, що живуть на рівнині, навпроти Галгала, біля діброви Море?. | Lo! are not these beyond Jordan, behind, westward in the land of Chanaan, which lies westward near Golgol, by the high oak? |

| Бо ви переходите Йордан, щоб оволодіти землею, яку Господь, Бог ваш, дає вам [у наділ назавжди], й оволодієте нею і будете жити на ній. | For ye are passing over Jordan, to go in and inherit the land, which the Lord our God gives you to inherit always, and ye shall dwell in it. |

| Отже, намагайтеся дотримувати всіх постанов і законів [Його], які пропоную я вам сьогодні. | And ye shall take heed to do all his ordinances, and these judgments, as many as I set before you to-day. |
