| Коли весь народ перейшов через Йордан, Господь сказав Ісусові: | And when the people had completely passed over Jordan, the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying, |

| візьміть собі з народу дванадцять чоловік, по одній людині з коліна, | Take men from the people, one of each tribe, |
|

|

|
| і дайте їм повеління і скажіть: візьміть собі звідси, із середини Йордану, де стояли ноги священиків нерухомо, дванадцять каменів, і перенесіть їх із собою, і покладіть їх на ночівлі, де будете ночувати в цю ніч. | and charge them; and ye shall take out of the midst of Jordan twelve fit stones, and having carried them across together with yourselves, place them in your camp, where ye shall encamp for the night. |

| Ісус покликав дванадцять чоловіків, яких призначив із синів Ізраїлевих, по одній людині з коліна, | And Joshua having called twelve men of distinction among the children of Israel, one of each tribe, |

| і сказав їм Ісус: підіть перед ковчегом Господа Бога вашого на середину Йордану і [візьміть звідти і] покладіть на плече своє кожен по одному каменю, за числом колін синів Ізраїлевих, | said to them, Advance before me in the presence of the Lord into the midst of Jordan, and each having taken up a stone from thence, let him carry it on his shoulders, according to the number of the twelve tribes of Israel: |

| щоб вони були у вас знаменням [що лежить завжди]; коли запитають вас у наступний час сини ваші і скажуть: «для чого у вас ці камені?», | that these may be to you continually for an appointed sign, that when thy son asks thee in future, saying, What are these stones to us? |

| ви скажете їм: «у пам’ять того, що вода Йордану розділилася перед ковчегом завіту Господа [всієї землі]; коли він переходив через Йордан, тоді вода Йордану розділилася»; таким чином камені ці будуть [у вас] для синів Ізраїлевих пам’ятником навік. | then thou mayest explain to thy son, saying, The river Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it passed it: and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel for ever. |

| І зробили сини Ізраїлеві так, як наказав Ісус: взяли дванадцять каменів з Йордану, як говорив Господь Ісусові, за числом колін синів Ізраїлевих, і перенесли їх із собою на ночівлю, і поклали їх там. | And the children of Israel did so, as the Lord commanded Joshua; and they took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, (as the Lord commanded Joshua, when the children of Israel had completely passed over,) and carried these stones with them into the camp, and laid them down there. |

| І [інші] дванадцять каменів поставив Ісус серед Йордану на місці, де стояли ноги священиків, які несли ковчег завіту [Господнього]. Вони там і до цього дня. | And Joshua set also other twelve stones in Jordan itself, in the place that was under the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and there they are to this day. |

| Священики, які несли ковчег [завіту Господнього], стояли серед Йордану, доки не було закінчене [Ісусом] усе, що Господь повелів Ісусові сказати народу, — так, як заповідав Мойсей Ісусові; а народ тим часом поспіхом переходив. | And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood in Jordan, until Joshua had finished all that the Lord commanded him to report to the people; and the people hasted and passed over. |

| Коли весь народ перейшов [Йордан], тоді перейшов і ковчег [завіту] Господнього, і священики перед народом; | And it came to pass when all the people had passed over, that the ark of the covenant of the Lord passed over, and the stones before them. |
|

| і сини Рувима і сини Гада і половина коліна Манассіїного перейшли озброєними попереду синів Ізраїлевих, як говорив їм Мойсей. | And the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses commanded them. |

| Близько сорока тисяча озброєних на війну перейшло перед Господом на рівнини Єрихонські, щоб воювати. | Forty thousand armed for battle went over before the Lord to war, to the city of Jericho. |

| У той день прославив Господь Ісуса перед очима всього Ізраїля і стали боятися його, як боялися Мойсея, в усі дні життя його. | In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all the people of Israel; and they feared him, as they did Moses, as long as he lived. |
|

|
| І сказав Господь Ісусові, говорячи: | And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying, |

|
| накажи священикам, які несуть ковчег одкровення, вийти з Йордану. | Charge the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the testimony of the Lord, to go up out of Jordan. |
|

|
| Ісус наказав священикам і сказав: вийдіть з Йордану. | And Joshua charged the priests, saying, Go up out of Jordan. |
|

|
| І коли священики, які несли ковчег завіту Господнього, вийшли з Йордану, то, лиш тільки стопи ніг їхніх ступили на сушу, вода Йордану потекла по своєму місцю і пішла, як вчора і третього дня, вище всіх берегів своїх. | And it came to pass when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord were gone up out of Jordan, and set their feet upon the land, that the water of Jordan returned impetuously to its place, and went as before over all its banks. |

| І вийшов народ з Йордану в десятий день першого місяця і поставив стан у Галгалі, на східній стороні Єрихона. | And the people went up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month; and the children of Israel encamped in Galgala in the region eastward from Jericho. |
|

|
| І дванадцять каменів, які взяли вони з Йордану, Ісус поклав у Галгалі | And Joshua set these twelve stones which he took out of Jordan, in Galgala, |
|

|
| і сказав синам Ізраїлевим: коли запитають у наступний час сини ваші батьків своїх: «що означають ці камені?», | saying, When your sons ask you, saying, What are these stones? |
|

|
| скажіть синам вашим: «Ізраїль перейшов через Йордан цей по суші», | Tell your sons, that Israel went over this Jordan on dry land, |
|

|
| бо Господь Бог ваш висушив води Йордану для вас, доки ви не перейшли його, так само, як Господь Бог ваш зробив з Червоним морем, яке висушив [Господь, Бог ваш,] перед нами, доки ми не перейшли його, | when the Lord our God had dried up the water of Jordan from before them, until they had passed over; as the Lord our God did to the Red Sea, which the Lord our God dried up from before us, until we passed over. |

| щоб усі народи землі знали, що рука Господня сильна, і щоб ви боялися Господа Бога вашого в усі дні. | That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that ye might worship the Lord our God in every work. |
