Глава 31	Chapter 31

І сказав Господь Мойсеєві, говорячи:	And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

помстися мадіанитянам за синів Ізраїлевих, і опісля відійдеш до народу твого.	Avenge the wrongs of the children of Israel on the Madianites, and afterwards thou shalt be added to thy people.

І сказав Мойсей народу, говорячи: озбройте із себе людей на війну, щоб вони пішли проти мадіанитян, звершити помсту Господню над мадіанитянами;	And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of you, and set yourselves in array before the Lord against Madian, to inflict vengeance on Madian from the Lord.

по тисячі з коліна, від усіх колін [синів] Ізраїлевих пошліть на війну.	Send a thousand of each tribe from all the tribes of the children of Israel to set themselves in array.

І виділено з тисяч Ізраїлевих, по тисячі з коліна, дванадцять тисяч озброєних на війну.	And they numbered of the thousands of Israel a thousand of each tribe, twelve thousands; these were armed for war.
6	6
І послав їх Мойсей на війну, по тисячі з коліна, їх і Финеєса, сина Єлеазара, [сина Аарона,] священика, на війну, і в руці його священні сосуди і труби для тривоги.	And Moses sent them away a thousand of every tribe with their forces, and Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest: and the holy instruments, and the signal trumpets were in their hands.

І пішли війною на Мадіама, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві, і вбили всіх чоловічої статі;	And they set themselves in array against Madian, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they slew every male.
8	8
і разом з убитими їх убили царів мадіамських: Евия, Рекема, Цура, Хура і Реву, п’ятьох царів мадіамських, і Валаама, сина Веорового, убили мечем [разом з убитими їх];	And they slew the kings of Madian together with their slain subjects; even Evi and Rocon, and Sur, and Ur, and Roboc, five kings of Madian; and they slew with the sword Balaam the son of Beor with their other slain.

а жінок мадіамських і дітей їхніх сини Ізраїлеві взяли в полон, і всю худобу їхню, і всі отари їхні і все майно їхнє взяли у здобич,	And they made a prey of the women of Madian, and their store, and their cattle, and all their possessions: and they spoiled their forces.
10	10
і всі міста їхні у володіннях їхніх і всі селища їхні спалили вогнем;	And they burnt with fire all their cities in the places of their habitation, and they burnt their villages with fire.
11	11
і взяли все захоплене і всю здобич, від людини до худоби;	And they took all their plunder, and all their spoils, both man and beast.
12	12
і доставили полонених і здобич і захоплене до Мойсея і до Єлеазара священика і до громади синів Ізраїлевих, до стану, на рівнини моавитські, що біля Йордану, навпроти Єрихона.	And they brought to Moses and to Eleazar the priest, and to all the children of Israel, the captives, and the spoils, and the plunder, to the camp to Araboth Moab, which is at Jordan by Jericho.
13	13
І вийшли Мойсей і Єлеазар священик і всі князі громади назустріч їм зі стану.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the rulers of the synagogue went forth out of the camp to meet them.
14	14
І прогнівався Мойсей на воєначальників, тисячоначальників і стоначальників, які прийшли з війни,	And Moses was angry with the captains of the host, the heads of thousands and the heads of hundreds who came from the battle-array.
15	15
і сказав їм Мойсей: [для чого] ви залишили в живих усіх жінок?	And Moses said to them, Why have ye saved every female alive?
16	16
ось вони, за порадою Валаамовою, були для синів Ізраїлевих приводом до відступу від Господа на догоду Фегору, за що й ураження було в громаді Господній;	For they were the occasion to the children of Israel by the word of Balaam of their revolting and despising the word of the Lord, because of Phogor; and there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord.
17	17
отже, убийте всіх дітей чоловічої статі, і всіх жінок, що пізнали чоловіка на чоловічій постелі, убийте;	Now then slay every male in all the spoil, slay every woman, who has known the lying with man.
18	18
а всіх дітей жіночої статі, що не пізнали чоловічої постелі, залиште в живих для себе;	And as for all the captivity of women, who have not known the lying with man, save ye them alive.
19	19
і пробудьте поза станом сім днів; усякий, хто вбив людину і доторкнувся до вбитого, очистіться у третій день і в сьомий день, ви і полонені ваші;	And ye shall encamp outside the great camp seven days; every one who has slain and who touches a dead body, shall be purified on the third day, and ye and your captivity shall purify yourselves on the seventh day.
20	20
і весь одяг, і всі шкіряні речі, і все, зроблене із козячої вовни, і всі дерев’яні сосуди очистіть.	And ye shall purify every garment and every leathern utensil, and all furniture of goat skin, and every wooden vessel.
21	21
І сказав Єлеазар священик воїнам, які ходили на війну: ось постанова закону, що заповів Господь Мойсеєві:	And Eleazar the priest said to the men of the host that came from the battle-array, This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord has commanded Moses.
22	22
золото, срібло, мідь, залізо, олово і свинець,	Beside the gold, and the silver, and the brass, and the iron, and lead, and tin,
23	23
і все, що проходить через вогонь, проведіть через вогонь, щоб воно очистилося, а крім того, й очищувальною водою треба очистити; усе, що не проходить через вогонь, проведіть через воду;	every thing that shall pass through the fire shall so be clean, nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of sanctification; and whatsoever will not pass through the fire shall pass through water.

і одяг ваш вимийте в сьомий день, і очистіться, і після того входьте в стан.	And on the seventh day ye shall wash your garments, and be clean; and afterwards ye shall come into the camp.
25	25
І сказав Господь Мойсеєві, говорячи:	And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
26	26
порахуй здобич полону, від людини до худоби, ти і Єлеазар священик і начальники племен громади;	Take the sum of the spoils of the captivity both of man and beast, thou and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the families of the congregation.
27	27
і розділи здобич навпіл між тими, що воювали, що ходили на війну, і між усією громадою,	And ye shall divide the spoils between the warriors that went out to battle, and the whole congregation.
28	28
і від воїнів, що ходили на війну, візьми данину Господу, по одній душі з п’ятисот, з людей і з великої худоби, і з ослів і з дрібної худоби;	And ye shall take a tribute for the Lord from the warriors that went out to battle; one soul out of five hundred, from the men, and from the cattle, even from the oxen, and from the sheep, and from the asses; and ye shall take from their half.
29	29
візьми це з половини їхньої і віддай Єлеазару священику у приношення Господу;	And thou shalt give them to Eleazar the priest as the first-fruits of the Lord.
30	30
і з половини синів Ізраїлевих візьми по одній частці з п’ятдесяти, з людей, з великої худоби, з ослів і з дрібної худоби, і віддай це левитам, що служать при скинії Господній.	And from the half belonging to the children of Israel thou shalt take one in fifty from the men, and from the oxen, and from the sheep, and from the asses, and from all the cattle; and thou shalt give them to the Levites that keep the charges in the tabernacle of the Lord.

І зробив Мойсей і Єлеазар священик, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses.
32	32
І було здобичі, що залишилася від захопленого, що захопили ті, що були на війні: дрібної худоби шістсот сімдесят п’ять тисяч,	And that which remained of the spoil which the warriors took, was—of the sheep, six hundred and seventy-five thousand:
33	33
великої худоби сімдесят дві тисячі,	and oxen, seventy-two thousand:
34	34
ослів шістдесят одна тисяча,	and asses, sixty-one thousand.
35	35
людей, жінок, які не знали чоловічої постелі, усіх душ тридцять дві тисячі.	And persons of women who had not known lying with man, all the souls, thirty-two thousand.
36	36
Половина, частка тих, що ходили на війну, за підрахунком була: дрібної худоби триста тридцять сім тисяч п’ятсот,	And the half, even the portion of them that went out to war, from the number of the sheep, was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred.

і данина Господу з дрібної худоби шістсот сімдесят п’ять;	And the tribute to the Lord from the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five.
38	38
великої худоби тридцять шість тисяч, і данина з них Господу сімдесят два;	And the oxen, six and thirty thousand, and the tribute to the Lord, seventy-two.
39	39
ослів тридцять тисяч п’ятсот, і данина з них Господу шістдесят один;	And asses, thirty thousand and five hundred, and the tribute to the Lord, sixty-one:
40	40
людей шістнадцять тисяч, і данина з них Господу тридцять дві душі.	and the persons, sixteen thousand, and the tribute of them to the Lord, thirty-two souls.
41	41
І віддав Мойсей данину, приношення Господу, Єлеазару священику, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві.	And Moses gave the tribute to the Lord, the heave-offering of God, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses;
42	42
І з половини синів Ізраїлевих, яку відокремив Мойсей у тих, що ходили на війну;	from the half belonging to the children of Israel, whom Moses separated from the men of war.
43	43
половина ж була на частку громади: дрібної худоби триста тридцять сім тисяч п’ятсот,	And the half taken from the sheep, belonging to the congregation, was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred.
44	44
великої худоби тридцять шість тисяч,	And the oxen, thirty-six thousand;
45	45
ослів тридцять тисяч п’ятсот,	asses, thirty thousand and five hundred;
46	46
людей шістнадцять тисяч.	and persons, sixteen thousand.

З половини синів Ізраїлевих узяв Мойсей одну п’ятдесяту частину з людей і з худоби і віддав це левитам, які виконують службу при скинії Господній, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві.	And Moses took of the half belonging to the children of Israel the fiftieth part, of men and of cattle, and he gave them to the Levites who keep the charges of the tabernacle of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

І прийшли до Мойсея начальники над тисячами війська, тисячоначальники і стоначальники,	And all those who were appointed to be officers of thousands of the host, captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, approached Moses, and said to Moses,
49	49
і сказали Мойсеєві: раби твої порахували воїнів, які нам доручені, і не вибуло жодного з них;	Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war with us, and not one is missing.
50	50
і ось, ми принесли приношення Господу, хто що дістав із золотих речей: ланцюжки, зап’ястя, персні, серги і привіски, для очищення душ наших перед Господом.	And we have brought our gift to the Lord, every man who has found an article of gold, whether an armlet, or a chain, or a ring, or a bracelet, or a clasp for hair, to make atonement for us before the Lord.

І взяв у них Мойсей і Єлеазар священик золото у всіх цих виробах;	And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from them, even every wrought article.
52	52
і було всього золота, що принесено для приношення Господу, шістнадцять тисяч сімсот п’ятдесят сиклів, від тисячоначальників і стоначальників.	And all the wrought gold, even the offering that they offered to the Lord, was sixteen thousand and seven hundred and fifty shekels from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.

Воїни грабували кожен для себе.	For the men of war took plunder every one for himself.
54	54
І взяв Мойсей і Єлеазар священик золото від тисячоначальників і стоначальників, і принесли його до скинії зібрання, у пам’ять синів Ізраїлевих перед Господом.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and brought the vessels into the tabernacle of witness, a memorial of the children of Israel before the Lord.
