Отже, яка перевага бути юдеєм, або яка користь від обрізання?
|
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what is the profit of circumcision?
|

|
Велика перевага в усіх відношеннях, а найбільше в тому, що їм довірено Слово Боже.
|
Much every way: for first of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
|
|

|
|
Бо що ж‚ коли деякі й не вірували? Невіра їхня чи знищить вірність Божу?
|
For what if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God?
|
|

|
Зовсім ні. Бог вірний, а всяка людина неправдива, як написано: «Ти праведний у словах Твоїх і переможеш у суді Твоєму».
|
God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.
|

|
Якщо ж наша неправда відкриває правду Божу, то що скажемо? Чи не буде Бог несправедливий, коли виявляє гнів? [Кажу це за людським міркуванням.]
|
But if our unrighteousness commendeth the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who visiteth with wrath? (I speak after the manner of men.)

Зовсім ні. Бо інакше як Богові судити світ?
|
God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
|
|

|
Бо коли вірність Божа підноситься моєю неправдою на славу Йому, за що ж мене ще й судити, як грішника?
|
For if the truth of God through my lie abounded unto his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
|
|

|
І чи не чинити нам зло, щоб вийшло добро, як деякі лихословлять нас і кажуть, ніби ми так навчаємо? Праведний суд на таких.
|
and why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? whose condemnation is just.
|

|
То що ж‚ чи маємо ми перевагу? Аж ніяк. Бо ми вже довели, що як юдеї, так і елліни, всі під гріхом.
|
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we before laid to the charge both of Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin;
|
|

|
Як написано: «Немає праведного ні одного;
|
as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one;
|
|

|
|
немає, хто розумів би; немає‚ хто шукав би Бога;
|
There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God;
|
|

|

|
|
всі ухилилися з путі, негідні всі до одного; нема того, хто чинить добро, нема жодного»;
|
They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not so much as one:
|
|

|
|
«гортань їхня — відкритий гріб; язиками своїми обманюють; отрута аспидів на губах їхніх».
|
Their throat is an open sepulcher; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:
|
|

|
|
«Уста їхні повні лихослів’я і гіркоти»;
|
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
|
|

|

|
|
«ноги їхні швидкі на пролиття крови;
|
Their feet are swift to shed blood;
|
|
16
|

|
|
руїни і пагуба на дорогах їхніх;
|
Destruction and misery are in their ways;
|
|
17
|
17
|
|
вони не знають шляху миру».
|
And the way of peace have they not known:
|
|

|
|
«Hемає страху Божого перед їхніми очима».
|
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
|
|

|
|
Але ми знаємо, що закон, коли щось говорить, говорить до тих, хто під законом, тому всякі уста замикаються і весь світ стає винним перед Богом,
|
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God:

тому що ділами закону не виправдається перед Hим ніяка плоть; бо законом пізнається гріх.
|
because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.
|

|
Тепер же, незалежно від закону, з’явилася правда Божа, про яку свідчать Закон і Пророки,
|
But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
|
|

|
|
правда Божа через віру в Ісуса Христа у всіх і на всіх‚ хто вірує, бо нема різниці,
|
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe; for there is no distinction;
|
|

|
|
тому що всі згрішили і позбавлені слави Божої,
|
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
|
|

|

|
|
виправдовуються даром, благодаттю Його, через відкуплення у Христі Ісусі,
|
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
|
|

|
|
Якого Бог призначив як жертву очищення Його Кров’ю через віру; для свідчення правди Своєї в прощенні гріхів, вчинених раніше,
|
whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime,
|
|

|
|
за час довготерпіння Божого; для свідчення правди Його нині, щоб Він явився праведним і виправдовував того‚ хто вірує в Ісуса.
|
in the forbearance of God; for showing, I say, his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.

|
Де ж те, чим би хвалитися? Знищено. Яким законом? Законом діл? Hі, але законом віри.
|
Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.
|
|

|
Бо ми визнаємо, що людина виправдовується вірою, незалежно від діл закону.
|
We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
|
|

|
Hевже ж Бог — тільки юдеїв, а і не язичників? Звичайно, і язичників;
|
Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:
|
|

|
|
бо є лише один Бог, котрий виправдовує обрізаних за вірою і необрізаних через віру.
|
since indeed it is one God who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.
|
|

|
|
Чи ми знищуємо закон вірою? Зовсім нi; але закон стверджуємо.
|
Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.
