| Грізне видіння показане мені: грабіжник грабує, спустошувач спустошує; піднімайся, Еламе, облягай, Миде! усім стогнанням я покладу кінець. | so a fearful and a grievous vision was declared to me: he that is treacherous deals treacherously, the transgressor transgresses. The Elamites are upon me, and the ambassadors of the Persians come against me: now will I groan and comfort myself. |

| Від цього стегна мої трясуться; муки схопили мене, як муки тієї, що народжує. Я схвильований від того, що чую; я збентежений від того, що бачу. | Therefore are my loins filled with feebleness, and pangs have seized me as a travailing woman: I dealt wrongfully that I might not hear; I hasted that I might not see. |

| Серце моє тремтить; дрож б’є мене; відрадна ніч моя перетворилася на жах для мене. | My heart wanders, and transgression overwhelms me; my soul is occupied with fear. |

| Готують стіл, розстилають покривала, — їдять, п’ють. «Вставайте, князі, мажте щити!» | Prepare the table, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and prepare your shields. |

| Бо так сказав мені Господь: піди, постав сторожа; нехай він розповідає, що побачить. | For thus said the Lord to me, Go and station a watchman for thyself, and declare whatever thou shalt see. |

| І побачив він вершників на конях, вершників на ослах, вершників на верблюдах, що їхали попарно; і вслухався він старанно, з великою увагою, — | And I saw two mounted horsemen, and a rider on an ass, and a rider on a camel. |

| Сторож відповідає: наближається ранок, але ще ніч. Якщо ви наполегливо запитуєте, то наверніться і приходьте. | I watch in the morning and the night: if thou wouldest enquire, enquire, and dwell by me. |

| Пророцтво про Аравію. — У лісі аравійському ночуйте, каравани деданські! | Thou mayest lodge in the forest in the evening, or in the way of Dædan. |

| Хто живе у землі Фемайській! несіть воду назустріч спраглим; з хлібом зустрічайте тих, що біжать, | Ye that dwell in the country of Thæman, bring water to meet him that is thirsty; |

| бо вони від мечів біжать, від меча оголеного і від лука натягнутого, і від лютости війни. | meet the fugitives with bread, because of the multitude of the slain, and because of the multitude of them that lose their way, and because of the multitude of swords, and because of the multitude of bent bows, and because of the multitude of them that have fallen in war. |

| Бо так сказав мені Господь: ще рік, рівний року найманця, і вся слава Кидарова щезне, | For thus said the Lord to me, Yet a year, as the year of an hireling, and the glory of the sons of Kedar shall fail: |

| і луків у хоробрих синів Кидара залишиться небагато: так сказав Господь, Бог Ізраїлів. | and the remnant of the strong bows of the sons of Kedar shall be small: for the Lord God of Israel has spoken it. |
