| Близький час його, і не забаряться дні його, бо помилує Господь Якова і знову полюбить Ізраїля; і оселить їх на землі їхній, і приєднаються до них іноземці і приліпляться до дому Якова. | And the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and they shall rest on their land: and the stranger shall be added to them, yea, shall be added to the house of Jacob. |

| І візьмуть їх народи, і приведуть на місце їх, і дім Ізраїля засвоїть їх собі на землі Господній рабами і рабинями, і візьме у полон тих, що полонили його, і буде панувати над гнобителями своїми. | And the Gentiles shall take them, and bring them into their place: and they shall inherit them, and they shall be multiplied upon the land for servants and handmaidens: and they that took them captives shall become captives to them; and they that had lordship over them shall be under their rule. |

| І буде у той день: коли Господь визволить тебе від скорботи твоєї і від страху і від тяжкого рабства, в якому ти був поневолений, | And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and vexation, and from thy hard servitude wherein thou didst serve them. |

| ти промовиш переможну пісню на царя Вавилонського і скажеш: як не стало мучителя, припинилося грабіжництво! | And thou shalt take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased! |

| Розтрощив Господь жезл нечестивих, скіпетр владик, | The Lord has broken the yoke of sinners, the yoke of princes. |
|

|
| який уражав народи у люті ударами невідворотними, який у гніві панував над племенами з нестримним переслідуванням. | Having smitten a nation in wrath, with an incurable plague, smiting a nation with a wrathful plague, which spared them not, he rested in quiet. |
|

|
| Уся земля відпочиває, покоїться, викликує з радости; | All the earth cries aloud with joy: |
|

|
| і кипариси радіють за тебе, і кедри ливанські, говорячи: «з тих пір, як ти заснув, ніхто не приходить рубати нас». | the trees also of Libanus rejoice against thee, and the cedar of Libanus, saying, From the time that thou hast been laid low, no one has come up to cut us down. |

| Пекло глибинне почало рухатися заради тебе, щоб зустріти тебе при вході твоєму; пробудив для тебе рефаїмів, усіх вождів землі; підняв усіх царів язичницьких із престолів їхніх. | Hell from beneath is provoked to meet thee: all the great ones that have ruled over the earth have risen up together against thee, they that have raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. |

| Усі вони будуть говорити тобі: і ти зробився безсилим, як ми! і ти став подібним до нас! | All shall answer and say to thee, Thou also hast been taken, even as we; and thou art numbered amongst us. |

|
| У пекло скинута гординя твоя з усім шумом твоїм; під тобою підстилається черва, і черва — покров твій. | Thy glory has come down to Hades, and thy great mirth: under thee they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be thy covering. |
|

|
| Як упав ти з неба, денниця, син зорі! розбився об землю, який топтав народи. | How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent orders to all the nations is crushed to the earth. |
|

|
| А говорив у серці своєму: «зійду на небо, вище за зірки Божі піднесу престіл мій і сяду на горí у зібранні богів, на краю півночі; | But thou saidst in thine heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven: I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north: |

| зійду на висоти хмарні, буду подібний до Всевишнього». | I will go up above the clouds; I will be like the Most High. |

|
| Але скинутий у пекло, у глибини пекельні. | But now thou shalt go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth. |
|

|
| Ті, що бачили тебе, вдивляються у тебе, розмірковують про тебе: «чи той це чоловік, який коливав землю, тряс царства, | They that see thee shall wonder at thee, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake; |
|

|
| всесвіт зробив пустелею і руйнував міста його, полонених своїх не відпускав додому?». | that made the whole world desolate, and destroyed its cities; he loosed not those who were in captivity. |
|

|
18
|
| Всі царі народів, усі лежать у шані, кожен у своїй усипальниці; | All the kings of the nations lie in honour, every man in his house. |
|

|

|
| а ти повалений поза гробницею своєю, як знехтувана гілка, як одяг убитих, уражених мечем, яких опускають у кам’яні рови, — ти, як потоптаний труп, | But thou shalt be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase, with many dead who have been pierced with swords, going down to the grave. |

| не з’єднаєшся з ними у могилі; бо ти зруйнував землю твою, убив народ твій: повіки не пом’янеться плем’я лиходіїв. | As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shalt thou be pure; because thou hast destroyed my land, and hast slain my people: thou shalt not endure for ever,—thou an evil seed. |

| Готуйте заколення синам його за беззаконня батька їхнього, щоб не повстали і не заволоділи землею і не наповнили всесвіт ворогами. | Prepare thy children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars. |
|

|
| І повстану на них, — говорить Господь Саваоф, — і знищу ім’я Вавилона і весь залишок, і сина й онука, — говорить Господь. | And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will destroy their name, and remnant, and seed: thus saith the Lord. |
|

|
| І зроблю його володінням їжаків і болотом, і вимету його мітлою знищувальною, — говорить Господь Саваоф. | And I will make the region of Babylon desert, so that hedgehogs shall dwell there, and it shall come to nothing: and I will make it a pit of clay for destruction. |
|

|
| З клятвою говорить Господь Саваоф: як Я задумав, так і буде; як Я визначив, так і відбудеться, | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be: and as I have purposed, so the matter shall remain: |
|

| щоб знищити Ассура у землі Моїй і розтоптати його на горах Моїх; і спаде з них ярмо його, і зніметься тягар його з рамен їхніх. | even to destroy the Assyrians upon my land, and upon my mountains: and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders. |

| Таке визначення, ухвалене про усю землю, і ось рука, простягнута на усі народи, | This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth: and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations. |

| бо Господь Саваоф визначив, і хто може скасувати це? рука Його простягнута, — і хто відверне її? | For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? and who shall turn back his uplifted hand? |
|

| У рік смерти царя Ахаза було таке пророче слово: | In the year in which king Achaz died this word came. |

|
| не радуйся, земле Филистимська, що розтрощено жезл, який уражав тебе, бо з кореня зміїного вийде аспид, і плодом його буде летючий дракон. | Rejoice not, all ye Philistines, because the yoke of him that smote you is broken: for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young of asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents. |

| Тоді найбідніші будуть нагодовані, жебраки будуть спочивати у безпеці; а твій корінь уморю голодом, і він уб’є залишок твій. | And the poor shall be fed by him, and poor men shall rest in peace: but he shall destroy thy seed with hunger, and shall destroy thy remnant. |

| Ридайте, ворота! вий голосом, місто! Розпадешся ти, уся земле Филистимська, тому що від півночі дим іде, і немає відсталого у полчищах їх. | Howl, ye gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, even all the Philistines: for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no possibility of living. |

| Що ж скажуть вісники народу? — Те, що Господь утвердив Сион, і у ньому знайдуть притулок бідні з народу Його. | And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Sion, and by him the poor of the people shall be saved. |
