| А нині слухай, Якове, рабе Мій, і Ізраїлю, якого Я обрав. | But now hear, Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen. |

| Так говорить Господь, Який створив тебе й утворив тебе, Який допомагає тобі від утроби матері: не бійся, рабе Мій, Якове, й улюблений [Ізраїлю], якого Я обрав; | Thus saith the Lord God that made thee, and he that formed thee from the womb; Thou shalt yet be helped: fear not, my servant Jacob; and beloved Israel, whom I have chosen. |

| бо Я виллю во́ди на спрагле і потоки на висохле; виллю дух Мій на плем’я твоє і благословення Моє на нащадків твоїх. | For I will give water to the thirsty that walk in a dry land: I will put my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessings upon thy children: |
|

|
| І будуть рости між травою, як і ви при потоках вод. | and they shall spring up as grass between brooks, and as willows on the banks of running water. |

|
| Один скаже: «я Господній», інший назветься ім’ям Якова; а ще інший напише рукою своєю: «я Господній», і прозветься ім’ям Ізраїля. | One shall say, I am God's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall write with his hand, I am God's, and shall call himself by the name of Israel. |

| Так говорить Господь, Цар Ізраїля, і Відкупитель його, Господь Саваоф: Я перший і Я останній, і, крім Мене, немає Бога, | Thus saith God the King of Israel, and the God of hosts that delivered him; I am the first, and I am hereafter: beside me there is no God. |

| бо хто як Я? Нехай він розповість, сповістить і в порядку представить Мені усе з того часу, коли Я утворив народ древній, або нехай звістять про те, що настає, і про майбутнє. | Who is like me? let him stand, and call, and declare, and prepare for me from the time that I made man for ever; and let them tell you the things that are coming before they arrive. |

| Не бійтеся і не страшіться: чи не здавна Я звістив тобі і пророкував? І ви Мої свідки. Чи є Бог, крім Мене? немає іншої твердині, ніякої не знаю. | Hide not yourselves, nor go astray: have ye not heard from the beginning, and have not I told you? ye are witnesses if there is a God beside me. |

| Ті, що роблять ідолів, усі нікчемні, і найжаданіші їхні не приносять ніякої користи, і вони самі собі свідки у тім. Вони не бачать і не розуміють, і тому будуть посоромлені. | But they that framed false gods did not then hearken; and they that graved images are all vain, performing their own desires, which shall not profit them, but they shall be ashamed |

| Хто зробив бога і відлив ідола, який не приносить ніякої користи? | that form a god, and all that grave worthless things: |

|
| Усі, хто бере участь у цьому, будуть посоромлені, бо і художники самі з людей же; нехай усі вони зберуться і стануть; вони злякаються, й усі будуть посоромлені. | and all by whom they were made are withered: yea, let all the deaf be gathered from among men, and let them stand together; and let them be ashamed and confounded together: |

| Коваль робить із заліза сокиру і працює на вугіллі, молотами обробляє її і трудиться над нею сильною рукою своєю до того, що стає голодний і безсилий, не п’є води і знемагає. | For the artificer sharpens the iron; he fashions the idol with an axe, and fixes it with an awl, and fashions it with the strength of his arm: and he will be hungry and weak, and will drink no water. |

| Тесля [вибравши дерево], накреслює на ньому лінію, гострим знаряддям робить на ньому обрис, потім оброблює його різцем і округлює його, і витворює з нього образ людини, красивої на вигляд, щоб поставити його у домі. | The artificer having chosen a piece of wood, marks it out with a rule, and fits it with glue, and makes it as the form of a man, and as the beauty of a man, to set it up in the house. |

| Він рубає собі кедри, бере сосну і дуб, які вибере між деревами в лісі, саджає ясен, а дощ вирощує його. | He cuts wood out of the forest, which the Lord planted, even a pine tree, and the rain made it grow, |

|
| І це служить людині паливом, і частину з цього вживає вона на те, щоб їй було тепло, і розводить вогонь, і пече хліб. І з того самого робить бога, і поклоняється йому, робить ідола, і падає перед ним. | that it might be for men to burn: and having taken part of it he warms himself; yea, they burn part of it, and bake loaves thereon; and of the rest they make for themselves gods, and they worship them. |

| Частину дерева спалює у вогні, іншою частиною варить м’ясо для їжі, смажить печеню і їсть досита, а також гріється і говорить: «добре, я зігрівся; відчув вогонь». | Half thereof he burns in the fire, and with half of it he bakes loaves on the coals; and having roasted flesh on it he eats, and is satisfied, and having warmed himself he says, I am comfortable, for I have warmed myself, and have seen the fire. |

| А з залишків від того робить бога, ідола свого, поклоняється йому, падає перед ним і молиться йому, і говорить: «спаси мене, бо ти бог мій». | And the rest he makes a graven god, and worships, and prays, saying, Deliver me; for thou art my God. |

| Не знають і не розуміють вони: Він закрив очі їхні, щоб не бачили, і серця їхні, щоб не розуміли. | They have no understanding to perceive; for they have been blinded so that they should not see with their eyes, nor perceive with their heart. |
|

| І не візьме він цього до свого серця, і немає у нього стільки знання і глузду, щоб сказати: «половину його я спалив у вогні і на вугіллі його спік хліб, засмажив м’ясо і з’їв; а із залишку його чи не зроблю я мерзоту? чи буду поклонятися шматку дерева?» | And one has not considered in his mind, nor known in his understanding, that he has burnt up half of it in the fire, and baked loaves on the coals thereof and has roasted and eaten flesh, and of the rest of it he has made an abomination, and they worship it. |

| Він ганяється за пилом; обмануте серце ввело його в оману, і він не може звільнити душу свою і сказати: «чи не обман у правій руці моїй?» | Know thou that their heart is ashes, and they err, and no one is able to deliver his soul: see, ye will not say, There is a lie in my right hand. |

| Пам’ятай це, Якове й Ізраїлю, бо ти раб Мій; Я утворив тебе: раб Мій ти, Ізраїль, не забувай Мене. | Remember these things, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant; I have formed thee to be my servant: and do thou, Israel, not forget me. |

| Згладжу беззаконня твої, як туман, і гріхи твої, як хмару; звернися до Мене, бо Я відкупив тебе. | For behold, I have blotted out as a cloud thy transgressions, and thy sin as darkness: turn to me, and I will redeem thee. |

| Торжествуйте, небеса, бо Господь створив це. Викликуйте, глибини землі; шуміть з радости, гори, ліс і всі дерева у ньому; бо відкупив Господь Якова і прославиться в Ізраїлі. | Rejoice, ye heavens; for God has had mercy upon Israel: sound the trumpet, ye foundations of the earth: ye mountains, shout with joy, ye hills, and all the trees therein: for God has redeemed Jacob, and Israel shall be glorified. |

| Так говорить Господь, Який відкупив тебе й утворив тебе від утроби материнської: Я Господь, Який створив усе, один розпростер небеса і Своєю силою розстелив землю, | Thus saith the Lord that redeems thee, and who formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that performs all things: I stretched out the heaven alone, and established the earth. |

| Який робить нікчемними знамення лжепророків і виявляє безумство чарівників, мудреців проганяє назад і знання їх робить дурістю, | Who else will frustrate the tokens of those that have divining spirits, and prophecies from the heart of man? turning the wise back, and making their counsel foolishness; |

| Який утверджує слово раба Свого і здійснює висловлювання Своїх посланців, Який говорить Єрусалиму: «ти будеш населений», і містам Іудиним: «ви будете побудовані, й руїни його Я відновлю», | and confirming the word of his servant, and verifying the counsel of his messengers: who says to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Idumea, Ye shall be built, and her desert places shall spring forth. |

| Який безодні говорить: «висохни!» і ріки твої Я висушу, | Who says to the deep, Thou shalt be dried up, and I will dry up the rivers. |
|

|
| Який говорить про Кира: пастир Мій, і він виконає усю волю Мою і скаже Єрусалиму: «ти будеш побудований!» і храму: «ти будеш заснований!» | Who bids Cyrus be wise, and he shall perform all my will: who says to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built, and I will lay the foundation of my holy house. |
