| Слова Єремії, сина Хелкіїного, зі священиків у Анафофі, у землі Веніаміновій, | The word of God which came to Jeremias the son of Chelcias, of the priests, who dwelt in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin: |

| до якого було слово Господнє у дні Іосії, сина Амонового, царя Юдейського, у тринадцятий рік царювання його, | accordingly as the word of God came to him in the days of Josias son of Amos king of Juda, in the thirteenth year of his reign. |

|
| і також у дні Іоакима, сина Іосіїного, царя Юдейського, до кінця одинадцятого року Седекії, сина Іосіїного, царя Юдейського, до переселення Єрусалима у п’ятому місяці. | And it was in the days of Joakim son of Josias king of Juda, until the eleventh year of Sedekias king of Juda, even until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month. |

| І було до мене слово Господнє: | And the word of the Lord came to him, saying, |

|
| перше ніж Я утворив тебе в утробі, Я пізнав тебе, і перше ніж ти вийшов з утроби, Я освятив тебе: пророком для народів поставив тебе. | Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth from the womb, I sanctified thee; I appointed thee a prophet to the nations. |

| А я сказав: о, Господи Боже! я не вмію говорити, бо я ще молодий. | And I said, O Lord, thou that art supreme Lord, behold, I know not how to speak, for I am a child. |

| Але Господь сказав мені: не говори: «я молодий»; бо до всіх, до кого пошлю тебе, підеш, і все, що повелю тобі, скажеш. | And the Lord said to me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all to whomsoever I shall send thee, and according to all the words that I shall command thee, thou shalt speak. |

| Не бійся їх; бо Я з тобою, щоб спасати тебе, сказав Господь. | Be not afraid before them: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. |

| І простяг Господь руку Свою, і торкнувся вуст моїх, і сказав мені Господь: ось, Я вклав слова Мої у вуста твої. | And the Lord stretched forth his hand to me, and touched my mouth: and the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put my words into thy mouth. |
|

|
| Дивися, Я поставив тебе у цей день над народами і царствами, щоб викорінювати і розоряти, губити і руйнувати, творити і насаджувати. | Behold, I have appointed thee this day over nations and over kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to rebuild, and to plant. |

| І було слово Господнє до мене: що бачиш ти, Єреміє? Я сказав: бачу жезл мигдалевого дерева. | And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, What seest thou? And I said, A rod of an almond tree. |
|

| Господь сказав мені: ти правильно бачиш; Я пильную над словом Моїм, щоб воно скоро сповнилося. | And the Lord said to me, Thou hast well seen: for I have watched over my words to perform them. |
|

| І було слово Господнє до мене іншого разу: що бачиш ти? Я сказав: бачу киплячий казан, який піддувається вітром, і лице його з боку півночі. | And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, A caldron on the fire; and the face of it is toward the north. |

| І сказав мені Господь: від півночі відкриється біда на усіх жителів цієї землі. | And the Lord said to me, From the north shall flame forth evils upon all the inhabitants of the land. |
|

|
| Бо ось, Я прикличу усі племена царств північних, — говорить Господь, — і прийдуть вони, і поставлять кожен престіл свій біля входу у ворота Єрусалима, і навколо усіх стін його, і у всіх містах юдейських. | For, behold, I call together all the kingdoms of the earth from the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and shall set each one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls round about her, and against all the cities of Juda. |

| І вчиню над ними суди Мої за усі беззаконня їхні, за те, що вони залишили Мене, і курили фіміам чужоземним богам і поклонялися ділам рук своїх. | And I will speak to them in judgment, concerning all their iniquity, forasmuch as they have forsaken me, and sacrificed to strange gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands. |

| А ти опояши стегна твої, і встань, і скажи їм усе, що Я повелю тобі; не будь слабкодухим перед ними, щоб Я не уразив тебе в очах їхніх. | And do thou gird up thy loins, and stand up, and speak all the words that I shall command thee: be not afraid of their face, neither be thou alarmed before them; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. |

| І ось, Я поставив тебе нині укріпленим містом і залізним стовпом і мідною стіною на усій цій землі, проти царів Іуди, проти князів його, проти священиків його і проти народу землі цієї. | Behold, I have made thee this day as a strong city, and as a brazen wall, strong against all the kings of Juda, and the princes thereof, and the people of the land. |

| Вони будуть воювати проти тебе, але не переможуть тебе; тому що Я з тобою, — говорить Господь, — щоб спасати тебе. | And they shall fight against thee; but they shall by no means prevail against thee; because I am with thee, to deliver thee, saith the Lord. |
