| І було слово Господнє до Єремії вдруге, коли він ще утримувався у дворі сторо́жі: | In the beginning of the Reign of King Joakim Son of Josias there came this Word from the Lord. |

| Так говорить Господь, Який створив [землю], Господь, Який упорядкував і утвердив її, — Господь ім’я Йому: | Thus said the Lord; Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and thou shalt declare to all the Jews, and to all that come to worship in the house of the Lord, all the words which I commanded thee to speak to them; abate not one word. |

| взивай до Мене — і Я відповім тобі, покажу тобі велике і недоступне, чого ти не знаєш. | Peradventure they will hear, and turn every one from his evil way: then I will cease from the evils which I purpose to do to them, because of their evil practices. |

| Бо так говорить Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, про доми міста цього і про доми царів юдейських, які руйнуються для завалів і для битви | And thou shalt say, Thus said the Lord; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my statutes which I set before you, |

| тими, які прийшли воювати з халдеями, щоб наповнити доми трупами людей, яких Я уражу у гніві Моєму й у люті Моїй, і за всі беззаконня яких Я сховав лице Моє від міста цього. | to hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you early in the morning; yea, I sent them, but ye hearkened not to me; |

| Ось, Я прикладу йому пластир і цілющі засоби, і вилікую їх, і відкрию їм повноту миру й істини, | then will I make this house as Selo, and I will make this city a curse to all the nations of all the earth. |

|
| і поверну полон Іуди і полон Ізраїля і влаштую їх, як спочатку, | And the priests, and the false prophets, and all the people heard Jeremias speaking these words in the house of the Lord. |

|
| і очищу їх від усього нечестя їхнього, яким вони грішили переді Мною, і прощу всі беззаконня їхні, якими вони грішили переді Мною і відпали від Мене. | And it came to pass, when Jeremias had ceased speaking all that the Lord had ordered him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the false prophets and all the people took him, saying, |

| І буде для мене Єрусалим радісним ім’ям, похвалою і честю перед усіма народами землі, які почують про усі блага, які Я зроблю йому, і здивуються і затремтять від усіх благодіянь і всього благоденства, яке Я доставлю йому. | Thou shalt surely die, because thou hast prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, This house shall be as Selo, and this city shall be made quite destitute of inhabitants. And all the people assembled against Jeremias in the house of the Lord. |

| Так говорить Господь: на цьому місці, про яке ви говорите: «воно порожнє, без людей і без худоби», — у містах юдейських і на вулицях Єрусалима, які порожні, без людей, без жителів, без худоби, | And the princes of Juda heard this word, and they went up out of the house of the king to the house of the Lord, and sat in the entrance of the new gate. |

| знову буде чутно голос радости і голос веселощів, голос нареченого і голос нареченої, голос тих, що говорять: «славте Господа Саваофа, бо благий Господь, бо повік милість Його», і голос тих, що приносять жертву подяки в домі Господньому; бо Я поверну полонених цієї землі в попередній стан, — говорить Господь. | Then the priests and the false prophets said to the princes and to all the people, The judgment of death is due to this man; because he has prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears. |

| Так говорить Господь Саваоф: на цьому місці, яке порожнє, без людей, без худоби, й у всіх містах його знову будуть оселі пастухів, які будуть пасти стада. | Then Jeremias spoke to the princes, and to all the people, saying, The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city, all the words which ye have heard. |

| У містах нагірних, у містах низинних і в містах південних, і в землі Веніаміновій, і в околицях Єрусалима, і в містах Іуди знову будуть проходити стада під рукою того, який рахує, — говорить Господь. | And now amend your ways and your works, and hearken to the voice of the Lord; and the Lord shall cease from the evils which he has pronounced against you. |

| Ось, настануть дні, — говорить Господь, — коли Я виконаю те добре слово, яке вирік про дім Ізраїлів і про дім Іудин. | And behold, I am in your hands; do to me as is expedient, and as it is best for you. |
|

|
| У ті дні й у той час вирощу Давиду Паросток праведний, і буде чинити суд і правду на землі. | But know for a certainty, that if ye slay me, ye bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon them that dwell in it; for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak in your ears all these words. |

| У ті дні Іуда буде спасенний і Єрусалим буде жити безпечно, і наречуть ім’я Йому: «Господь виправдання наше!» | Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the false prophets; Judgment of death is not due to this man; for he has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God. |

| Бо так говорить Господь: не припиниться у Давида муж, який сидить на престолі дому Ізраїлевого, | And there rose up men of the elders of the land, and said to all the assembly of the people, |
|

|
| й у священиків-левитів не буде нестачі у мужі перед лицем Моїм, який в усі дні возносить всепалення і спалює приношення і звершує жертви. | Michæas the Morathite lived in the days of Ezekias king of Juda, and said to all the people of Juda, Thus saith the Lord; Sion shall be ploughed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become a desolation, and the mountain of the house shall be a thicket of trees. |

| І було слово Господнє до Єремії: | Did Ezekias and all Juda in any way slay him? Was it not that they feared the Lord, and they made supplication before the Lord, and the Lord ceased from the evils which he had pronounced against them? whereas we have wrought great evil against our own souls. |
|

|
| так говорить Господь: якщо можете зруйнувати завіт Мій про день і завіт Мій про ніч, щоб день і ніч не приходили у свій час, | And there was another man prophesying in the name of the Lord, Urias the son of Samæas of Cariathiarim; and he prophesied concerning this land according to all the words of Jeremias. |

| то може бути зруйнований і завіт Мій з рабом Моїм Давидом, так що не буде у нього сина, який царює на престолі його, і також з левитами-священиками, служителями Моїми. | And king Joakim and all the princes heard all his words, and sought to slay him; and Urias heard it and went into Egypt. |

| Як незліченне небесне воїнство і невимірний пісок морський, так розмножу плем’я Давида, раба Мого, і левитів, які служать Мені. | And the king sent men into Egypt; |

| І було слово Господнє до Єремії: | and they brought him thence, and brought him in to the king; and he smote him with the sword, and cast him into the sepulchre of the children of his people. |
|

|
24
|
| чи не бачиш, що народ цей говорить: «ті два племені, які обрав Господь, Він відкинув?» і через це вони зневажають народ Мій, ніби він уже не був народом у очах їх. | Nevertheless the hand of Achicam son of Saphan was with Jeremias, to prevent his being delivered into the hands of the people, or being killed. |

|
| Так говорить Господь: якщо завіту Мого про день і ніч і уставів неба і землі Я не утвердив, | |
|
26
|
|
| то і плем’я Якова і Давида, раба Мого, відкину, щоб не брати більше владик з його племені для племені Авраама, Ісаака та Якова; бо поверну їх із полону і помилую їх. |
