| Так сказав Господь: зійди у дім царя Юдейського і промов слово це | Thus saith the Lord; Go thou, and go down to the house of the king of Juda, and thou shalt speak there this word, |

| і скажи: вислухай слово Господнє, царю Юдейський, що сидиш на престолі Давидовому, ти, і слуги твої, і народ твій, які входите цими воротами. | and thou shalt say, Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Juda, that sittest on the throne of David, thou, and thy house, and thy people, and they that go in at these gates: |

| Так говорить Господь: чиніть суд і правду і рятуйте скривдженого від руки гнобителя, не кривдьте і не утискуйте прибульця, сироту і вдову, і невинної крови не проливайте на місці цьому. | thus saith the Lord; Execute ye judgment and justice, and rescue the spoiled out of the hand of him that wrongs him: and oppress not the stranger, and orphan, and widow, and sin not, and shed no innocent blood in this place. |

| Бо якщо ви будете виконувати слово це, то будуть входити воротами дому цього царі, які сидять замість Давида на престолі його, які їздять на колісниці і на конях, самі й слуги їхні і народ їхній. | For if ye will indeed perform this word, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, and riding on chariots and horses, they, and their servants, and their people. |

| А якщо не послухаєте слів цих, то Мною клянуся, — говорить Господь, — що дім цей зробиться порожнім. | But if ye will not perform these words, by myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, that this house shall be brought to desolation. |
|

| Бо так говорить Господь дому царя Юдейського: Галаад ти у Мене, вершина Ливану; але Я зроблю тебе пустелею і міста безлюдними | For thus saith the Lord concerning the house of the king of Juda; Thou art Galaad to me, and the head of Libanus: yet surely I will make thee a desert, even cities that shall not be inhabited: |

| і приготую проти тебе винищувачів, кожного зі своїм знаряддям, і зрубають кращі кедри твої і кинуть у вогонь. | and I will bring upon thee a destroying man, and his axe: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire. |

|
| І багато народів будуть проходити через місто це і говорити одне одному: «за що Господь так учинив з цим великим містом?» | And nations shall pass through this city, and each shall say to his neighbour, Why has the Lord done thus to this great city? |
|

|
| І скажуть у відповідь: «за те, що вони залишили завіт Господа Бога свого і поклонялися іншим богам і служили їм». | And they shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord their God, and worshipped strange gods, and served them. |
|

|
| Не плачте за померлим і не жалійте за ним; але гірко плачте за тим, хто відходить у полон, бо він уже не повернеться і не побачить рідної країни своєї. | Weep not for the dead, nor lament for him: weep bitterly for him that goes away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native land. |

| Бо так говорить Господь про Саллума, сина Іосії, царя Юдейського, який царював після батька свого, Іосії, і який вийшов з цього місця: він уже не повернеться сюди, | For thus saith the Lord concerning Sellem the son of Josias, who reigns in the place of Josias his father, who has gone forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more: |

| але помре у тому місці, куди відвели його полоненим, і більше не побачить землі цієї. | but in that place whither I have carried him captive, there shall he die, and shall see this land no more. |

| Горе тому, хто будує дім свій неправдою і світлиці свої беззаконням, хто примушує ближнього свого працювати задарма і не віддає йому платні його, | He that builds his house not with justice, and his upper chambers not with judgment, who works by means of his neighbour for nothing, and will by no means give him his reward. |

| хто говорить: «побудую собі дім великий і світлиці просторі», — і прорубує собі вікна, й обшиває кедром, і фарбує червоною фарбою. | Thou hast built for thyself a well-proportioned house, airy chambers, fitted with windows, and wainscoted with cedar, and painted with vermilion. |

| Чи думаєш ти бути царем, тому що обклав себе кедром? батько твій їв і пив, але чинив суд і правду, і тому йому було добре. | Shalt thou reign, because thou art provoked with thy father Achaz? they shall not eat, and they shall not drink: it is better for thee to execute judgment and justice. |

| Він розбирав справу бідного й убогого, і тому йому добре було. Чи не це означає знати Мене? — говорить Господь. | They understood not, they judged not the cause of the afflicted, nor the cause of the poor: is not this thy not knowing me? saith the Lord. |
|

| Але твої очі і твоє серце звернені тільки до твоєї користи і до пролиття невинної крови, до того, щоб робити утиск і насильство. | Behold, thine eyes are not good, nor thine heart, but they go after thy covetousness, and after the innocent blood to shed it, and after acts of injustice and slaughter, to commit them. |

| Тому так говорить Господь про Іоакима, сина Іосії, царя Юдейського: не будуть оплакувати його: «горе, брат мій!» і: «горе, сестра!» Не будуть оплакувати його: «горе, государ!» і: «горе, його велич!» | Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning Joakim son of Josias, king of Juda, even concerning this man; they shall not bewail him, saying, Ah brother! neither shall they at all weep for him, saying, Alas Lord. |

| Ослячим похованням буде він похований; витягнуть його і кинуть далеко за ворота Єрусалима. | He shall be buried with the burial of an ass; he shall be dragged roughly along and cast outside the gate of Jerusalem. |
|

|
| Зійди на Ливан і кричи, і на Васані піднеси голос твій і кричи з Аварима, бо знищені усі друзі твої. | Go up to Libanus, and cry; and utter thy voice to Basan, and cry aloud to the extremity of the sea: for all thy lovers are destroyed. |

|
| Я говорив тобі під час благоденства твого; але ти сказав: «не послухаю». Така була поведінка твоя від самої юности твоєї, що ти не слухав голосу Мого. | I spoke to thee on occasion of thy trespass, but thou saidst, I will not hearken. This has been thy way from thy youth, thou hast not hearkened to my voice. |

| Усіх пастирів твоїх розвіє вітер, і друзі твої підуть у полон; і тоді ти будеш осоромлений і посоромлений за усі злодіяння твої. | The wind shall tend all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity; for then shalt thou be ashamed and disgraced because of all thy lovers. |

| Ти, що живеш на Ливані, гніздишся на кедрах! яким жалюгідним будеш ти, коли осягнуть тебе муки, як болі жінки при пологах! | O thou that dwellest in Libanus, making thy nest in the cedars, thou shalt groan heavily, when pangs as of a travailing woman are come upon thee. |

| Живу Я, — сказав Господь: якби Ієхонія, син Іоакима, цар Юдейський, був перснем на правій руці Моїй, то і звідси Я зірву тебе | As I live, saith the Lord, though Jechonias son of Joakim king of Juda were indeed the seal upon my right hand, thence would I pluck thee; |

| і віддам тебе до рук тих, що шукають душі твоєї, і до рук тих, яких ти боїшся, до рук Навуходоносора, царя Вавилонського, і до рук халдеїв, | and I will deliver thee into the hands of them that seek thy life, before whom thou art afraid, into the hands of the Chaldeans. |

| і викину тебе і твою матір, яка народила тебе, у чужу країну, де ви не народилися, і там помрете; | And I will cast forth thee, and thy mother that bore thee, into a land where thou wast not born; and there ye shall die. |
|

| а в землю, куди душа їх буде бажати повернутися, туди не повернуться. | But they shall by no means return to the land which they long for in their souls. |

|
| «Невже ця людина, Ієхонія, є створіння огидне, відкинуте? чи він — сосуд непотребний? за що вони викинуті — він і плем’я його, і кинуті у країну, якої не знали?» | Jechonias is dishonoured as a good-for-nothing vessel; for he is thrown out and cast forth into a land which he knew not. |

| О, земле, земле, земле! слухай слово Господнє. | Land, land, hear the word of the Lord. |

|
| Так говорить Господь: запишіть чоловіка цього позбавленим дітей, чоловіком злощасним у дні свої, тому що ніхто вже з племені його не буде сидіти на престолі Давидовім і володарювати в Юдеї. | Write ye this man an outcast: for there shall none of his seed at all grow up to sit on the throne of David, or as a prince yet in Juda. |
