| І прийшов один з семи ангелів, які мали сім чаш, і, говорячи зі мною, сказав мені: підійди, я покажу тобі суд над великою блудницею, яка сидить на водах многих; | And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven bowls, and spake with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon the many waters; |

| з нею блудодіяли царі земні, і вином її блудодіяння впивалися ті, що живуть на землі. | with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and they that dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her fornication. |

| І повів мене в дусі в пустелю; і я побачив жінку, яка сиділа на звірі багряному, сповненому імен богохульних, з сімома головами і десятьма рогами. | And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. |

| І жінка була одягнена в порфиру і багряницю, прикрашена золотом, коштовними каменями і перлами, і тримала золоту чашу в руці своїй, наповнену мерзотами і нечистотою блудодійства її; | And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, decked with gold and precious stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations, even the unclean things of the fornication of the earth, |

| і на чолі її написано ім’я: таїна, Вавилон великий, мати блудницям і мерзотам земним. | and upon her forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. |

| Я бачив, що жінка упоєна була кров’ю святих і кров’ю свідків Ісусових, і, бачачи її, дивувався здивуванням великим. | And I saw the woman drunken from the blood of the saints, with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered with a great wonder. |

| І сказав мені ангел: що ти дивуєшся? Я скажу тобі таємницю жінки цієї і звіра, який носить її та має сім голів і десять рогів. | And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and the ten horns. |

| Звір, якого ти бачив, був, і нема його, і вийде з безодні, і піде у погибель; і здивуються ті з живих на землі, імена яких не вписані до книги життя від початку світу, коли побачать, що звір був, і нема його, і з’явиться. | The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, they whose name hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold that the beast was, and is not, and shall come. |

| Тут розум, що має мудрість. Сім голів — це сім гір, на яких сидить жінка, | Here is the mind that hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth: |

| і сім царів, з яких п’ять упали, один є, а інший ще не прийшов, і коли прийде, не довго йому бути. | and they are seven kings; the five are fallen, the one is, the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a little while. |

| І звір, який був і якого нема, є восьмий, і з числа семи, і піде у погибель. | And the beast that was, and is not, this man is also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goeth into perdition. |

| І десять рогів, що ти бачив, є десять царів, які ще не одержали царства, але приймуть владу зі звіром, як царі, на одну годину. | And the ten horns that thou sawest are ten kings, who have received no kingdom as yet; but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour. |

|
| Вони мають одні думки і передадуть силу і владу свою звірові. | These have one mind, and they give their power and authority unto the beast. |
|

| Вони будуть вести битву з Агнцем, і Агнець переможе їх; бо Він є Господь над владиками і Цар царів, і ті, які з Ним, є покликані й обрані і вірні. | These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they also shall overcome that are with him, called and chosen and faithful. |

| І говорить мені: води, що ти бачив, де сидить блудниця, це люди й народи, і племена і коліна. | And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. |
|

| І десять рогів, які ти бачив на звірі, ці зненавидять блудницю, і розорять її, і роздягнуть, і плоть її з’їдять, і спалять її у вогні; | And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast, these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate, and shall make her naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire. |

| тому що Бог поклав їм на серце — виконати волю Його, виконати одну волю, і віддати царство їхнє звірові, доки не здійсняться слова Божі. | For God did put in their hearts to do his mind, and to come to one mind, and to give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished. |

| Жінка ж, яку ти бачив, є велике місто, що царює над земними царями. | And the woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. |
