Глава 18	Chapter 18

1	1
Після цього я побачив іншого ангела, який сходив з неба і мав владу велику; і земля освітилася від слави його.	After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2	2
І вигукнув він сильно, гучним голосом, кажучи: упав, упав Вавилон, велика блудниця; він зробився житлом бісів і пристановищем усякому нечистому духові, пристановищем усякому нечистому й огидному птахові; бо лютим вином блудодіяння свого вона напоїла всі народи,	And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen is Babylon the great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird.

і царі земні любодіяли з нею, і купці земні розбагатіли від великих розкошів її.	For by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations are fallen; and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth waxed rich by the power of her wantonness.

І почув я інший голос з неба, який говорив; вийди від неї, народе Мій, щоб не брати вам участі у гріхах її та не зазнати покарань її;	And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth out of her, my people, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:
5	5
бо гріхи її дійшли до неба, і Бог пригадав неправди її.	for her sins have reached even unto heaven, and God hath remembered her, even her iniquities.

Відплатіть їй так, як і вона відплатила вам, і удвічі відплатіть їй за ділами її; у чаші, в якій вона готувала вам вино, приготуйте їй удвічі.	Render unto her even as she rendered, and double unto her the double, even as she has done, and according to her works: in her cup which she mingled, mingle unto her double.

Скільки славилася вона і розкошувала, стільки завдайте їй мук і скорбот. Бо вона говорить у серці своєму: сиджу царицею, я не вдова і не побачу скорботи!	How much soever she glorified herself, and waxed wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall in no wise see mourning.

За те в один день прийдуть на неї страти, смерть і плач, і голод, і буде спалена вогнем, тому що сильний Господь Бог, Який судить її.	Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her.

І заплачуть і заридають за нею царі земні, які блудодіяли і розкошували з нею, коли побачать дим від пожежі її,	And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived wantonly with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they look upon the smoke of her burning,

стоячи віддалік від страху мук її та кажучи: горе, горе тобі, велике місто Вавилон, місто могутнє! Бо за одну годину прийшов суд твій.	standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11	11
І купці земні заплачуть і заридають за нею, тому що товарів їхніх ніхто вже не купує,	And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise anymore;
12	12
товарів золотих і срібних, і каменів коштовних та перлів, і висону і порфири, і шовку, і багряниці, і всякого пахучого дерева, і всяких виробів із слонової кістки, і всяких виробів з дорогих дерев, з міді і заліза, і мармуру,	merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet; and all thyine wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;

кориці і фіміаму, і мира і ладану, і вина і єлею, і борошна і пшениці, і худоби і овець, і коней і колісниць, і тіл і душ людських.	and cinnamon, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and sheep, and cattle; and merchandise of horses and chariots and slaves; and souls of men.
14	14
І плодів, угодних для душі твоєї, не стало у тебе, і все сите і блискуче віддалилося від тебе; ти вже не знайдеш його.	And the fruits which thy soul lusted after are gone from thee, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous are perished from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15	15
Торговці всім цим, які збагатилися від неї, стануть вдалині від страху мук її, плачучи і ридаючи,	The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, both weeping and mourning,
16	16
і кажучи: горе, горе тобі, велике місто, одягнене у висон і порфиру і багряницю, прикрашене золотом і камінням коштовним і перлами,	saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she that was arrayed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearls!
17	17
бо за одну годину загинуло таке багатство! І всі керманичі, і всі, хто пливе на кораблях, і всі корабельники, і всі, хто торгує на морі, стали віддаля,	for in one hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and everyone that saileth anywhither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off,
18	18
і, бачачи дим від пожежі її, закричали, кажучи: яке місто подібне до міста великого!	and cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?
19	19
І посипали попелом голови свої, і кричали, плачучи і ридаючи: горе, горе тобі, місто велике, коштовностями якого збагатились усі, хто має кораблі на морі, бо опустіло за одну годину!	And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, and saying, Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all that had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20	20
Веселися з цього, небо, і святі апостоли та пророки; бо звершив Бог суд ваш над ним.	Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, and ye apostles, and ye prophets; for God hath judged your judgment on her.
21	21
І один сильний ангел узяв камінь, подібний до великого жорна, і кинув у море, кажучи: з такою швидкістю повержений буде Вавилон, велике місто, і вже не буде його.	And a strong angel took up a stone as it were a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with a mighty fall shall Babylon, the great city, be cast down, and shall be found no more at all.
22	22
І голосу тих, що грають на гуслах, і співають, і грають на сопілках, і трублять у труби, в тобі вже не буде чутно; не буде вже в тобі ніякого митця, ніякого мистецтва, і шуму від жорен вже не буде чутно в тобі;	And the voice of harpers and minstrels and flute players and trumpeters shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft, shall be found anymore at all in thee; and the voice of a mill shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23	23
і світло світильника вже не з’явиться в тобі; і голосів жениха і нареченої не буде вже чутно в тобі: бо купці твої були вельможами землі, і чародійством твоїм були введені в оману всі народи.	and the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the princes of the earth; for with thy sorcery were all the nations deceived.
24	24
І в ньому знайдена кров пророків і святих, і всіх убитих на землі.	And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all that have been slain upon the earth.
