Тому біймося, щоб, коли ще лишається обітниця увійти до спокою Його, хтось із вас не запізнився.
|
Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.
|

|
Бо і нам воно сповіщено, як і тим; але не принесло їм користи почуте слово, не з’єднане з вірою тих, що слухали.
|
For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because they were not united by faith with them that heard.
|

|
А входимо до спокою ми, що увірували, бо Він сказав: «Я поклявся в гніві Моїм, що вони не ввійдуть до спокою Мого», хоч діла Його були завершені ще на початку світу.
|
For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Бо десь сказано про сьомий день так: «І спочив Бог у день сьомий від усіх діл Своїх».
|
For he hath said somewhere of the seventh day on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;
|

|
І ще тут: «Hе ввійдуть до спокою Мого».
|
and in this place again, They shall not enter into my rest.
|
|

|
Отже, як деяким залишається ввійти до нього, а ті, яким раніше благозвіщено, не ввійшли до нього за непокірність,
|
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,
|

|
то Він призначає ще якийсь день‚ «нинi», кажучи через Давида, що після такого довгого часу, як раніше сказано: «Нині, коли почуєте голос Його, не зробіть жорстокими сердець ваших».
|
he again defineth a certain day, Today, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said), Today if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts.

Бо коли б Ісус Hавин дав їм спочинок, то не було б сказано після того про інший день.
|
For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
|

|
Тому для народу Божого залишена ще субота.
|
There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.
|
|

|
Бо, хто ввійшов до спокою Його, той і сам заспокоївся від діл своїх, як і Бог від Своїх.
|
For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
|
|

|
Отже, постараймось увійти до цього спокою, щоб хто за тим самим прикладом не впав у непокірність.
|
Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.
|

|
Бо слово Боже живе і дійове, та гостріше від усякого меча двосічного: воно проникає до розділення душі й духу, суглобів і мізків, і судить помисли й наміри сердечні.
|
For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

|
І немає створіння, схованого від Hього, але все оголене і відкрите перед очима Його: Йому дамо звіт.
|
And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
|

|
Отже, маючи Первосвященика Великого, Який перейшов небеса, Ісуса Сина Божого, будемо твердо триматися сповідання нашого.
|
Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
|

|
|
Бо ми маємо не такого первосвященика, який не може страждати з нами в немочах наших, але Такого, Який, подібно до нас, зазнав спокуси в усьому, крім гріха.
|
For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
|

|
Тому з дерзновенням приступаймо до престолу благодаті, щоб одержати милість і знайти благодать для своєчасної допомоги.
|
Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.
