Глава 9	Chapter 9

1	1
Перший завіт мав постанову про Богослужіння і святилище земне;	Now even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service, and its sanctuary, a sanctuary of this world.

бо побудована була скинія перша, в якій був світильник і трапеза та жертовні хліби і яка називається «святе».	For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, wherein were the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the Holy place.

За другою ж завісою була скинія, названа «Святе святих»,	And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies;

яка мала золоту кадильницю і обкутий з усіх боків золотом ковчег завіту, де були золотий сосуд з манною, жезл Ааронів розквітлий та скрижалі завіту,	having a golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was a golden pot holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;

а над ним херувими слави, що осіняли вівтар; про що не час тепер говорити докладно.	and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; of which things we cannot now speak severally.

При такому влаштуванні, до першої скинії завжди входять священики відправляти Богослужіння;	Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services;

а до другої — раз на рік один тільки первосвященик, не без крови, яку приносить за себе і за гріхи народу.	but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself, and for the errors of the people:

Цим Дух Святий показує, що ще не відкрита путь у святилище, доки стоїть перша скинія.	the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing;

Вона є образ теперішнього часу, за якого приносяться дари і жертви, які не можуть зробити досконалим у совісті того, хто служить.	which is a figure for the time present, in which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshiper perfect,

І вони зі стравами і напоями та різноманітними обмиваннями й обрядами, що стосуються плоті, були встановлені тільки до часу їх виправлення.	consisting only in meats and drinks, and diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

Але Христос, Первосвященик майбутніх благ, прийшовши з більшою та досконалішою скинією, нерукотворною, тобто не такого спорудження,	But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

і не з кров’ю козлів і телят, але зі Своєю Кров’ю, один раз увійшов у святилище і здобув вічне відкуплення.	nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption.

Бо якщо кров телят і козлів та попіл телиці через окроплення освячує осквернених, щоб чисте було тіло,	For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling them that have been defiled, sanctify unto the cleanness of the flesh:
14	14
то тим більше Кров Христа, Який Духом Святим приніс Себе непорочного Богові, очистить совість нашу від мертвих діл для служіння Богу Живому і істинному!	how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish unto God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

І тому Він є Посередник Нового Завіту, щоб внаслідок смерти Його, яка сталася для відкуплення від злочинів, заподіяних за першого завіту, ті, що покликані до вічного спадку, одержали обіцяне.	And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that a death having taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they that have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Бо де заповіт, там необхідно, щоб настала смерть заповітника,	For where a testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him that made it.

бо заповіт дійсний після померлих: він не має сили, коли заповідач живий.	For a testament is of force where there hath been death: for it doth never avail while he that made it liveth.
18	18
Чому і перший завіт був утверджений не без крови.	Wherefore even the first covenant hath not been dedicated without blood.
19	19
Бо Мойсей, проголосивши всі заповіді за законом перед усім народом, узяв кров телят і козлів з водою і шерстю червленою та іссопом і окропив як саму книгу, так і весь народ,	For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses unto all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,

кажучи: це кров завіту, який заповідав вам Бог.	saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded to you-ward.
21	21
Також окропив кров’ю і скинію та всі богослужбові сосуди.	Moreover the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry he sprinkled in like manner with the blood.
22	22
Та майже все за законом очищається кров’ю, і без проливання крови не буває прощення.	And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
23	23
Отже, образи небесного повинні були очищатися цими, а саме ж небесне — жертвами, кращими від цих.	It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Бо Христос увійшов не в рукотворне святилище, створене за зразком істинного, але в саме небо, щоб постати нині за нас перед лице Боже,	For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:
25	25
і не для того, щоб багаторазово приносити Себе, як первосвященик входить у святилище щороку з чужою кров’ю;	nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;
26	26
інакше треба було б Йому багаторазово страждати від початку світу; Він же один раз, на кінці віків, з’явився, щоб знищити гріх жертвою Своєю.	else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27	27
І як людям визначено один раз умерти, а потім суд,	And inasmuch as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this cometh judgment;
28	28
так і Христос, один раз принісши Себе в жертву, щоб взяти гріхи багатьох, вдруге явиться не для очищення гріха, а для тих, що чекають Його на спасіння.	so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.
