| Головне ж у тому, про що говоримо, є таке: ми маємо такого Первосвященика, Який сів праворуч престолу величі на небесах | Now in the things which we are saying the chief point is this: We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, |

| і є Священнослужителем святилища та скинії правдивої, яку збудував Господь, а не чоловік. | a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. |

| Кожен первосвященик настановляється для принесення дарів і жертви; а тому треба було, щоб і Цей також мав що принести. | For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that this high priest also have somewhat to offer. |
|

| Якби Він перебував на землі, то не був би і священиком; бо тут такі священики, які за законом приносять дари | For if indeed he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; |

| і служать образу та тіні небесного, як сказано було Мойсеєві, коли він приступав до будування скинії: «Гляди, сказано, зроби все за зразком, показаним тобі на горi». | who serve that which is a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned of God when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was shown thee in the mount. |

| Але Цей Первосвященик дістав служіння тим прекрасніше, чим кращого Він Посередник завіту, утвердженого на кращих обітницях. | But now hath he obtained a ministry the more excellent, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which hath been enacted upon better promises. |

| Бо, якби перший завіт був без недоліку, то не було б потреби шукати місця іншому. | For if that first covenant had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for a second. |
|

| Але пророк, докоряючи їм, каже: «Ось настають дні, говорить Господь‚ коли Я укладу з домом Ізраїля і з домом Іуди Новий Завіт, | For finding fault with it, he saith unto them, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; |

| не такий завіт, який Я уклав з батьками їхніми того часу, коли взяв їх за руку, щоб вивести їх із землі Єгипетської, бо вони не перебували в тому завіті Моєму, і Я зневажив їх, говорить Господь. | Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them forth out of the land of Egypt; For they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord. |

| Ось Завіт, який заповідаю дому Ізраїля після тих днів, говорить Господь: вкладу закони Мої в думки їхні, і напишу їх на серцях їхніх; і буду їхнім Богом, а вони будуть Моїм народом. | For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people: |

| І не буде вчити кожен ближнього свого і кожен брата свого, кажучи: «Пізнай Господа»; тому що всі від малого до великого будуть знати Мене, | And they shall not teach every man his fellow citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least of them to the greatest of them. |

| бо Я буду милостивий до неправд їхніх, і гріхів їхніх, і беззаконь їхніх не згадаю більше». | For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And their sins and their lawless deeds will I remember no more. |
|

| Кажучи «новий», показав застарілість першого; а що занепадає і старіє‚ близьке до зотління. | In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. But that which is becoming old and waxeth aged is nigh unto vanishing away. |
