| Вона швидко поширюється від одного кінця до іншого й усе влаштовує на користь. | Wisdom reacheth from one end to another mightily; and sweetly doth she order all things. |

| Я полюбив її і знайшов від юности моєї, і побажав узяти її за наречену собі, і став любителем краси її. | I loved her, and sought her out from my youth, I desired to make her my spouse, and I was a lover of her beauty. |
|

| Вона піднімає своє благородство тим, що має співжиття з Богом, і Владика усіх полюбив її: | In that she is conversant with God, she magnifieth her nobility: yea, the Lord of all things himself loved her. |

|
| вона таїнниця розуму Божого і виборниця діл Його. | For she is privy to the mysteries of the knowledge of God, and a lover of his works. |
|

|
| Якщо багатство є жадане придбання у житті, то що багатше за премудрість, яка все робить? | If riches be a possession to be desired in this life; what is richer than wisdom, that worketh all things? |
|

|
| Якщо ж розсудливість робить багато чого, то який художник краще за неї? | And if prudence work; who of all that are is a more cunning workman than she? |
|

|
| Якщо хто любить праведність, — плоди її є чесноти: вона навчає цнотливости і розважливости, справедливости і мужности, корисніше за які нічого немає для людей у житті. | And if a man love righteousness, her labours are virtues: for she teacheth temperance and prudence, justice and fortitude: which are such things, as men can have nothing more profitable in their life. |

| Якщо хто бажає великої досвідчености, мудрість знає давноминуле і вгадує майбутнє, знає тонкощі слів і відповіді на загадки, дізнається наперед знамення і чудеса і наслідки років і часів. | If a man desire much experience, she knoweth things of old, and conjectureth aright what is to come: she knoweth the subtilties of speeches, and can expound dark sentences: she foreseeth signs and wonders, and the events of seasons and times. |

| Тому я розсудив прийняти її у співжиття із собою, знаючи, що вона буде мені радницею на добре й утішенням у турботах і печалі. | Therefore I purposed to take her to me to live with me, knowing that she would be a counsellor of good things, and a comfort in cares and grief. |

| Через неї я буду мати славу у народі і честь перед старійшинами, будучи юнаком; | For her sake I shall have estimation among the multitude, and honour with the elders, though I be young. |
|

| виявлюся проникливим на суді, і в очах сильних заслужу подив. | I shall be found of a quick conceit in judgment, and shall be admired in the sight of great men. |
|

|
| Коли я буду мовчати, вони будуть очікувати, і коли почну говорити, будуть слухати, і коли продовжу бесіду, покладуть руку на вуста свої. | When I hold my tongue, they shall bide my leisure, and when I speak, they shall give good ear unto me: if I talk much, they shall lay their hands upon their mouth. |

| Через неї я досягну безсмертя і залишу вічну пам’ять майбутнім після мене. | Moreover by the means of her I shall obtain immortality, and leave behind me an everlasting memorial to them that come after me. |

| Я буду керувати народами, і племена підкоряться мені; | I shall set the people in order, and the nations shall be subject unto me. |
|

|
| убояться мене, коли почують про мене, страшні тирани; у народі явлюся добрим і на війні мужнім. | Horrible tyrants shall be afraid when they do but hear of me; I shall be found good among the multitude, and valiant in war. |
|

| Увійшовши у дім свій, я заспокоюся нею, бо у спілкуванні її немає суворости, ні у співжитті з нею скорботи, але веселощі і радість. | After I am come into mine house, I will repose myself with her: for her conversation hath no bitterness: and to live with her hath no sorrow, but mirth and joy. |

| Розмірковуючи про це сам у собі й думаючи у серці своєму, що у спорідненні з премудрістю — безсмертя, | Now when I considered these things in myself, and pondered them in my heart, how that to be allied unto wisdom is immortality; |

| й у співдружності з нею — благе насолодження, і в трудах рук її — багатство, яке не зменшується, й у співбесіді з нею — розум, і в спілкуванні слів її — добра слава, — я ходив і шукав як би мені взяти її собі. | and great pleasure it is to have her friendship; and in the works of her hands are infinite riches; and in the exercise of conference with her, prudence; and in talking with her, a good report; I went about seeking how to take her to me. |

| Я був юнак обдарований і душу одержав добру; | For I was a witty child, and had a good spirit. |

| притім, будучи добрим, я увійшов і в тіло чисте. | Yea rather, being good, I came into a body undefiled. |

| Пізнавши ж, що інакше не можу оволодіти нею, тільки якщо дарує Бог, — і що вже було справою розуму, щоб пізнати, чий цей дар, — я звернувся до Господа і молився Йому, і говорив від усього серця мого: | Nevertheless, when I perceived that I could not otherwise obtain her, except God gave her me; and that was a point of wisdom also to know whose gift she was; I prayed unto the Lord, and besought him, and with my whole heart I said, |
