Chapter 24
1
1
| Сhне, не ревнyй мужє1мъ ѕлы6мъ, нижE возжелёй бhти съ ни1ми: | My son, envy not bad men, nor desire to be with them. |
2
2
| For their heart meditates falsehoods, and their lips speak mischiefs. |
3
3
| A house is built by wisdom, and is set up by understanding. |
4
4
| By discretion the chambers are filled with all precious and excellent wealth. |
5
5
| A wise man is better than a strong man; and a man who has prudence than a large estate. |
6
6
| War is carried on with generalship, and aid is supplied to the heart of a counsellor. |
7
7
| Премyдрость и3 мhсль блaга во вратёхъ премyдрыхъ: смhсленніи не ўкланsютсz t зак0на гDнz, | Wisdom and good understanding are in the gates of the wise: the wise turn not aside from the mouth of the Lord, |
8
8
Ненакaзанныхъ срэтaетъ смeрть, | but deliberate in council. Death befalls uninstructed men. |
9
9
НечистотA мyжу губи1телю: | The fool also dies in sins; and uncleanness attaches to a pestilent man. |
10
10
| He shall be defiled in the evil day, and in the day of affliction, until he be utterly consumed. |
11
11
2. | Deliver them that are led away to death, and redeem them that are appointed to be slain; spare not thy help. |
12
12
| Ѓще же речeши: не вёмъ сегw2: разумёй, ћкw гDь всёхъ сердцA вёсть, и3 создaвый дыхaніе всBмъ, сeй вёсть всsчєскаz, и4же воздaстъ комyждо по дэлHмъ є3гw2. | But if thou shouldest say, I know not this man; know that the Lord knows the hearts of all; and he that formed breath for all, he knows all things, who renders to every man according to his works. |
13
13
| Ћждь мeдъ, сhне, блaгъ бо є4сть с0тъ, да наслади1тсz гортaнь тв0й: | My son, eat honey, for the honeycomb is good, that thy throat may be sweetened. |
14
14
| си1це ўразумёеши премyдрость душeю твоeю: ѓще бо њбрsщеши, бyдетъ добрA кончи1на твоS, и3 ўповaніе не њстaвитъ тебE. | Thus shalt thou perceive wisdom in thy soul: for if thou find it, thine end shall be good, and hope shall not fail thee. |
15
15
| Не приводи2 нечести1ваго на пaжить првdныхъ, нижE прельщaйсz насыщeніемъ чрeва: | Bring not an ungodly man into the dwelling of the righteous: neither be deceived by the feeding of the belly. |
16
16
| For a righteous man will fall seven times, and rise again: but the ungodly shall be without strength in troubles. |
17
17
| Ѓще падeтъ врaгъ тв0й, не њбрaдуйсz є3мY, въ преткновeніи же є3гw2 не возноси1сz: | If thine enemy should fall, rejoice not over him, neither be elated at his overthrow. |
18
18
| For the Lord will see it, and it will not please him, and he will turn away his wrath from him. |
19
19
| Не рaдуйсz њ ѕлодёющихъ и3 не ревнyй грBшнымъ, | Rejoice not in evil-doers, neither be envious of sinners. |
20
20
| For the evil man shall have no posterity: and the light of the wicked shall be put out. |
21
21
| Б0йсz бGа, сhне, и3 царS, и3 ни є3ди1ному же и4хъ проти1висz: | My son, fear God and the king; and do not disobey either of them. |
22
22
Ничт0же л0жно t љзhка царeви да глаг0летсz, и3 ни є3ди1на лжA t љзhка є3гw2 да и3зhдетъ: мeчь (є4сть) љзhкъ царeвъ, ґ не пл0тzнъ: и3 и4же ѓще прeданъ бyдетъ, сокруши1тсz: ѓще бо раздражи1тсz ћрость є3гw2, со жи1лами человёки губи1тъ, и3 кHсти человёчєскіz поzдaетъ и3 сожигaетъ ћкw плaмень, ћкw не kдHмымъ бhти птенцaми џрлими. | For they will suddenly punish the ungodly, and who can know the vengeance inflicted by both? |
23
23
2. | And this thing I say to you that are wise for you to learn: It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. |
24
24
| Глаг0лzй нечести1ваго, ћкw прaведенъ є4сть, пр0клzтъ t людjй бyдетъ и3 возненави1дэнъ во kзhцэхъ: | He that says of the ungodly, He is righteous, shall be cursed by peoples, and hateful among the nations. |
25
25
| њбличaющіи же лyчшіи kвsтсz, на нsже пріи1детъ благословeніе блaго: | But they that reprove him shall appear more excellent, and blessing shall come upon them; |
26
26
| и3 ўстнЁ њблобызaютъ tвэщaющыz словесA бл†га. | and men will kiss lips that answer well. |
27
27
| Prepare thy works for thy going forth, and prepare thyself for the field; and come after me, and thou shalt rebuild thine house. |
28
28
| Be not a false witness against thy fellow citizen, neither exaggerate with thy lips. |
29
29
| Say not, As he has treated me, so will I treat him, and I will avenge myself on him for that wherein he has injured me. |
30
30
| Ћкоже ни1ва мyжъ безyмный, и3 ћкw віногрaдъ человёкъ скудоyмный: | A foolish man is like a farm, and a senseless man is like a vineyard. |
31
31
| ѓще њстaвиши є3го2, њпустёетъ и3 трав0ю порастeтъ вeсь, и3 бyдетъ њстaвленъ, њгр†ды же кaмєнныz є3гw2 раскопaютсz. | If thou let him alone, he will altogether remain barren and covered with weeds; and he becomes destitute, and his stone walls are broken down. |
32
32
| Послэди2 ѓзъ покazхсz, воззрёхъ и3збрaти наказaніе: | Afterwards I reflected, I looked that I might receive instruction. |
33
33
| мaлw дремлю2, мaлw же сплю2 и3 мaлw њб8eмлю рукaма пє1рси: | The sluggard says, I slumber a little, and I sleep a little, and for a little while I fold my arms across my breast. |
34
34
| But if thou do this, thy poverty will come speedily; and thy want like a swift courier. |
