| І послав Хирам, цар Тирський, до Давида послів, і кедрові дерева, і мулярів, і теслярів, щоб побудувати йому дім. | And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timbers, and masons, and carpenters, to build a house for him. |

| Коли довідався Давид, що утвердив його Господь царем над Ізраїлем, що піднесено високо царство його, заради народу його Ізраїля, | And David knew that the Lord had designed him to be king over Israel; because his kingdom was highly exalted, on account of his people Israel. |

|
| тоді взяв Давид ще дружин в Єрусалимі, і породив Давид ще синів і дочок. | And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and there were born to David more sons and daughters. |
|

| І ось імена народжених у нього в Єрусалимі: Самус, Совав, Нафан, Соломон, | And these are the names of those that were born, who were born to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon, |

| Евеар, Елисуа, Елфалет, | and Baar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth, |
|

|
| Ногах, Нафек, Іафіа, | and Nageth, and Naphath, and Japhie, |
|

|
| й Елисама, Вееліада й Елифалеф. | and Elisamae, and Eliade, and Eliphala. |
|

| І почули филистимляни, що помазано Давида на царя над усім Ізраїлем, і піднялися усі филистимляни шукати Давида. І почув Давид про це і пішов проти них. | And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel: and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard it, and went out to meet them. |

| І филистимляни прийшли і розташувалися в долині рефаїмів. | And the Philistines came and assembled together in the giants' valley. |

| І запитав Давид Бога, говорячи: чи йти мені проти филистимлян, і чи віддаси їх у руки мої? І сказав йому Господь: іди, і Я віддам їх у руки твої. | And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into thy hands. |

| І пішли вони у Ваал-Перацим, і вразив їх там Давид; і сказав Давид: зломив Бог ворогів моїх рукою моєю, як прорив води. Тому і дали ім’я місцю тому: Ваал-Перацим. | And he went up to Baal Pharasin, and David smote them there; and David said, God has broken through enemies by my hand like a breach of water: therefore he called the name of that place, the Breach of Pharasin. |

| І залишили там филистимляни богів своїх, і повелів Давид, і спалені вони вогнем. | And the Philistines left their gods there; and David gave orders to burn them with fire. |

| І прийшли знову филистимляни і розташувалися по долині. | And the Philistines once more assembled themselves in the giants' valley. |
|

| І ще запитав Давид Бога, і сказав йому Бог: не ходи прямо на них, ухилися від них і йди до них з боку шовковичних дерев; | And David enquired of God again; and God said to him, Thou shalt not go after them; turn away from them, and thou shalt come upon them near the pear trees. |
|

|
| і коли почуєш шум, ніби кроків на вершинах шовковичних дерев, тоді вступи в битву, бо вийшов Бог перед тобою, щоб уразити стан филистимлян. | And it shall be, when thou shalt hear the sound of their tumult in the tops of the pear trees, then thou shalt go into the battle: for God has gone out before thee to smite the army of the Philistines. |

| І зробив Давид, як повелів йому Бог; і вразили стан филистимський, від Гаваона до Газера. | And he did as God commanded him: and he smote the army of the Philistines from Gabaon to Gazera. |
|

| І пронеслося ім’я Давидове по всіх землях, і Господь зробив його страшним для всіх народів. | And the name of David was famous in all the land; and the Lord put the terror of him on all the nations. |
