| У дванадцятому році, у дванадцятому місяці, у перший день місяця, було до мене слово Господнє: | And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, |

| сину людський! здійми плач за фараоном, царем Єгипетським, і скажи йому: ти як молодий лев між народами і як чудовисько у морях, кидаєшся у ріках твоїх, і каламутиш ногами твоїми води, і зневажаєш потоки їх. | Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharao king of Egypt, and say to him, Thou art become like a lion of the nations, and as the serpent that is in the sea: and thou didst make assaults with thy rivers, and didst disturb the water with thy feet, and didst trample thy rivers. |

| Так говорить Господь Бог: Я закину на тебе сітку Мою у зібранні багатьох народів, і вони витягнуть тебе Моєю сіттю. | Thus saith the Lord; I will also cast over thee the nets of many nations, and will bring thee up with my hook: |

| І викину тебе на землю, на відкритому полі кину тебе, і будуть сідати на тебе всякі небесні птахи, і будуть насичуватися тобою звірі всієї землі. | and I will stretch thee upon the earth: the fields shall be covered with thee, and I will cause all the birds of the sky to settle upon thee, and I will fill with thee all the wild beasts of the earth. |

| І розкидаю м’ясо твоє по горах, і долини наповню твоїми трупами. | And I will cast thy flesh upon the mountains, and will saturate them with thy blood. |

| І землю плавання твого напою кров’ю твоєю до самих гір; і рівчаки будуть наповнені тобою. | And the land shall be drenched with thy dung, because of thy multitude upon the mountains: I will fill the valleys with thee. |

| І коли ти згаснеш, закрию небеса і зірки їх потьмарю, сонце закрию хмарою, і місяць не буде світити світлом своїм. | And I will veil the heavens when thou art extinguished, and will darken the stars thereof; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. |

| Усі світила, що світяться на небі, затьмарю над тобою і на землю твою наведу пітьму, — говорить Господь Бог. | All the bodies that give light in the sky, shall be darkened over thee, and I will bring darkness upon the earth, saith the Lord God. |

|
| Приведу у збентеження серце багатьох народів, коли розголошу про падіння твоє між народами, по землях, яких ти не знав. | And I will provoke to anger the heart of many people, when I shall lead thee captive among the nations, to a land which thou hast not known. |
|

|
| І наведу тобою жах на багато народів, і царі їх здригнуться за тебе у страху, коли мечем Моїм потрясу перед лицем їх, і щохвилинно будуть тремтіти кожен за душу свою у день падіння твого. | And many nations shall mourn over thee, and their kings shall be utterly amazed, when my sword flies in their faces, as they wait for their own fall from the day of thy fall. |

| Бо так говорить Господь Бог: меч царя Вавилонського прийде на тебе. | For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee, |

|
| Від мечів сильних упаде народ твій; усі вони — найлютіші з народів, і знищать гордість Єгипту, і загине вся безліч його. | with the swords of mighty men; and I will cast down thy strength: they are all destroying ones from the nations, and they shall destroy the pride of Egypt, and all her strength shall be crushed. |

| І знищу всю худобу його біля великих вод, і надалі не буде каламутити їх нога людська, і копита худоби не будуть каламутити їх. | And I will destroy all her cattle from beside the great water; and the foot of man shall not trouble it any more, and the step of cattle shall no more trample it. |

|
| Тоді дам спокій водам їх, і зроблю, що ріки їх потечуть, як олія, — говорить Господь Бог. | Thus shall their waters then be at rest, and their rivers shall flow like oil, saith the Lord, |

|
| Коли зроблю землю Єгипетську пустелею, і коли позбудеться земля усього, що наповнює її; коли уражу всіх, хто живе на ній, тоді пізнають, що Я Господь. | when I shall give up Egypt to destruction, and the land shall be made desolate with the fulness thereof; when I shall scatter all that dwell in it, and they shall know that I am the Lord. |

| Ось жалібна пісня, яку будуть співати; дочки народів будуть співати її; про Єгипет і про всю безліч його будуть співати її, — говорить Господь Бог. | There is a lamentation, and thou shalt utter it; and the daughters of the nations shall utter it, even for Egypt, and they shall mourn for it over all the strength thereof, saith the Lord God. |

| У дванадцятому році, у п’ятнадцятий день того самого місяця, було до мене слово Господнє: | And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, |

| сину людський! оплач народ єгипетський, і скинь його, його і дочок знаменитих народів у пекло, з тими, хто відходить у могилу. | Son of man, lament over the strength of Egypt, for the nations shall bring down her daughters dead to the depth of the earth, to them that go down to the pit. |
|

|
| Кого ти перевершуєш? зійди, і лежи з необрізаними. | |

|
| Ті впадуть серед убитих мечем, і він відданий мечу; тягніть його і всю безліч його. | They shall fall with him in the midst of them that are slain with the sword, and all his strength shall perish: the giants also shall say to thee, |

|
| Серед пекла будуть говорити про нього і про союзників його перші з героїв; вони впали і лежать там між необрізаними, убиті мечем. | Be thou in the depth of the pit: to whom art thou superior? yea, go down, and lie with the uncircumcised, in the midst of them that are slain with the sword. |

|
| Там Ассур і все полчище його, навколо нього гроби їхні, всі уражені, полеглі від меча. | There are Assur and all his company: all his slain have been laid there: |

| Гроби його поставлені у самій глибині пекла, і полчище його навколо гробниці його, всі уражені, полеглі від меча, ті, які поширювали жах на землі живих. | and their burial is in the depth of the pit, and his company are set round about his tomb: all the slain that fell by the sword, who had caused the fear of them to be upon the land of the living. |

| Там Елам із усією безліччю своєю навколо гробниці його, усі вони уражені, полеглі від меча, які необрізаними зійшли у пекло, які поширювали собою жах на землі живих і несуть ганьбу свою з тими, що відійшли у могилу. | There is Ælam and all his host round about his tomb: all the slain that fell by the sword, and the uncircumcised that go down to the deep of the earth, who caused their fear to be upon the land of the living: and they have received their punishment with them that go down to the pit, |

| Серед уражених дали ложе йому з усією безліччю його; навколо нього гроби їхні, всі необрізані, уражені мечем; і оскільки вони поширювали жах на землі живих, то і несуть на собі ганьбу нарівні з тими, що відійшли у могилу і покладені серед уражених. | in the midst of the slain. |

| Там Мешех і Фувал з усією безліччю своєю; навколо нього гроби їхні, всі необрізані, уражені мечем, тому що вони поширювали жах на землі живих. | There were laid Mosoch, and Thobel, and all his strength round about his tomb: all his slain men, all the uncircumcised, slain with the sword, who caused their fear to be in the land of the living. |

| Чи не повинні і вони лежати з полеглими героями необрізаними, які з військовою зброєю своєю зійшли у пекло і мечі свої поклали собі під голови, і залишилося беззаконня їхнє на кістках їхніх, тому що вони, як сильні, були жахом на землі живих. | And they are laid with the giants that fell of old, who went down to Hades with their weapons of war: and they laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities were upon their bones, because they terrified all men during their life. |

| І ти будеш скрушений серед необрізаних і лежатимеш з ураженими мечем. | And thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that have been slain by the sword. |

| Там Едом і царі його і всі князі його, які при всій своїй хоробрості покладені серед уражених мечем; вони лежать з необрізаними і тими, що зійшли у могилу. | There are laid the princes of Assur, who yielded their strength to a wound of the sword: these are laid with the slain, with them that go down to the pit. |

| Там володарі півночі, всі вони і всі сидоняни, які зійшли туди з ураженими, бувши посоромленими у могутності своїй, що наводила жах, і лежать вони з необрізаними, ураженими мечем, і несуть ганьбу свою з тими, що відійшли у могилу. | There are the princes of the north, even all the captains of Assur, who go down slain to Hades: they lie uncircumcised among the slain with the sword together with their terror and their strength, and they have received their punishment with them that go down to the pit. |

| Побачить їх фараон і утішиться за всю безліч свою, вражену мечем, фараон і все військо його, — говорить Господь Бог. | King Pharao shall see them, and shall be comforted over all their force, saith the Lord God. |

| Бо Я поширю страх Мій на землі живих, і покладений буде фараон і вся безліч його серед необрізаних з ураженими мечем, — говорить Господь Бог. | For I have caused his fear to be upon the land of the living: yet he shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharao, and all his multitude with him, saith the Lord God. |
