А ти здійми плач за князями Ізраїля
|
Moreover do thou take up a lamentation for the prince of Israel,
|

|
і скажи: що за левиця мати твоя? розташувалася серед левів, між молодими левами зрощувала левенят своїх.
|
and say, Why is thy mother become a whelp in the midst of lions? in the midst of lions she has multiplied her whelps.
|
|

|
|
І вигодувала одного із левенят своїх; він зробився молодим левом і навчився ловити здобич, їв людей.
|
And one of her whelps sprang forth; he became a lion, and learned to take prey, he devoured men.
|
|

|
|
І почули про нього народи; він упійманий був у яму їхню, і в ланцюгах відвели його у землю Єгипетську.
|
And the nations heard a report of him; he was caught in their pit, and they brought him into the land of Egypt in chains.
|

|
|
І коли, почекавши, побачила вона, що надія її пропала, тоді взяла іншого із левенят своїх і зробила його молодим левом.
|
And she saw that he was driven away from her, and her hope of him perished, and she took another of her whelps; she made him a lion.
|

|
І, зробившись молодим левом, він став ходити між левами і навчився ловити здобич, їв людей
|
And he went up and down in the midst of lions, he became a lion, and learned to take prey, he devoured men.
|

|
і оскверняв удів їхніх і міста їхні спустошував; і опустіла земля і всі селища її від рикання його.
|
And he prowled in his boldness and laid waste their cities, and made the land desolate, and the fulness of it, by the voice of his roaring.
|

|
|
Тоді повстали на нього народи з навколишніх областей і розкинули на нього сіть свою; він упійманий був у яму їхню.
|
Then the nations set upon him from the countries round about, and they spread their nets upon him: he was taken in their pit.
|
|

|
І посадили його у клітку на ланцюзі і відвели його до царя Вавилонського; відвели його у фортецю, щоб не чутний уже був голос його на горах Ізраїлевих.
|
And they put him in chains and in a cage, and he came to the king of Babylon; and he cast him into prison, that his voice should not be heard on the mountains of Israel.

|
Твоя мати була, як виноградна лоза, посаджена біля води; плодюча і гілляста була вона від достатку води.
|
Thy mother was as a vine and as a blossom on a pomegranate tree, planted by water: her fruit and her shoots abounded by reason of much water.
|

|
|
І були у неї гілки міцні для скіпетрів володарів, і високо піднявся стовбур її між густими гілками; і виділялася вона висотою своєю з безліччю гілок своїх.
|
And she became a rod for a tribe of princes, and was elevated in her bulk in the midst of other trees, and she saw her bulk in the multitude of her branches.

Але у гніві вирвана, кинута на землю, і східний вітер висушив плід її; відрізані і засохли міцні гілки її, вогонь пожер їх.
|
But she was broken down in wrath, she was cast upon the ground, and the east wind dried up her choice branches: vengeance came upon them, and the rod of her strength was withered; fire consumed it.

|
А тепер вона пересаджена у пустелю, у землю суху і спраглу.
|
And now they have planted her in the wilderness, in a dry land.
|
|

|
|
І вийшов вогонь із стовбура гілок її, пожер плоди її і не залишилося на ній гілок міцних для скіпетра володаря. Це жалібна пісня, і залишиться для плачу.
|
And fire is gone out of a rod of her choice boughs, and has devoured her; and there was no rod of strength in her. Her race is become a parable of lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.
