| І привів він мене назад до зовнішніх воріт святилища, повернених лицем на схід, і вони були зачинені. | Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary that looks eastward; and it was shut. |

| І сказав мені Господь: ворота ці будуть зачинені, не відчиняться, і ніяка людина не ввійде ними, бо Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, увійшов ними, і вони будуть зачинені. | And the Lord said to me, This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no one shall pass through it; for the Lord God of Israel shall enter by it, and it shall be shut. |

| Що ж до князя, він, як князь, сяде у них, щоб їсти хліб перед Господом; увійде через притвор цих воріт, і тим самим шляхом вийде. | For the prince, he shall sit in it, to eat bread before the Lord; he shall go in by the way of the porch of the gate, and shall go forth by the way of the same. |

| Потім привів мене шляхом воріт північних перед лице храму, і я бачив, і ось, слава Господа наповнювала дім Господа, й упав я на лице моє. | And he brought me in by the way of the gate that looks northward, in front of the house: and I looked, and, behold, the house was full of the glory of the Lord: and I fell upon my face. |

| І сказав мені Господь: сину людський! прикладай серце твоє до всього, і дивися очима твоїми, і слухай вухами твоїми все, що Я говорю тобі про всі постанови дому Господа і всі закони його; і прихили серце твоє до входу у храм і до всіх виходів зі святилища. | And the Lord said to me, Son of man, attend with thine heart, and see with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say to thee, according to all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the regulations thereof; and thou shalt attend well to the entrance of the house, according to all its outlets, in all the holy things. |

| І скажи бунтівному дому Ізраїлевому: так говорить Господь Бог: досить вам, доме Ізраїлів, робити всі мерзоти ваші, | And thou shalt say to the provoking house, even to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Let it suffice you to have committed all your iniquities, O house of Israel! |

| вводити синів чужої, необрізаних серцем і необрізаних плоттю, щоб вони були в Моєму святилищі й оскверняли храм Мій, підносити хліб Мій, жир і кров, і руйнувати завіт Мій усякими мерзотами вашими. | that ye have brought in aliens, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, and to profane it, when ye offered bread, flesh, and blood; and ye transgressed my covenant by all your iniquities; |

| Ви не виконували варти біля святинь Моїх, а ставили замість себе їх для сторо́жі у Моєму святилищі. | and ye appointed others to keep the charges in my sanctuary. |

|
| Так говорить Господь Бог: ніякий син чужої, необрізаний серцем і необрізаний плоттю, не повинен входити у святилище Моє, навіть і той син чужої, який живе серед синів Ізраїля. | Therefore thus saith the Lord God; No alien, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of all the children of strangers that are in the midst of the house of Israel. |

| Рівно ж і левити, які відійшли від Мене під час відступництва Ізраїля, які, залишивши Мене, блукали вслід ідолам своїм, понесуть покарання за провину свою. | But as for the Levites who departed far from me when Israel went astray from me after their imaginations, they shall even bear their iniquity. |

| Вони будуть служити біля святилища Мого, як вартові біля воріт храму і прислужники у храмі; вони будуть заколювати для народу всепалення й інші жертви, і будуть стояти перед ними для служіння їм. | Yet they shall minister in my sanctuary, being porters at the gates of the house, and serving the house: they shall slay the victims and the whole-burnt-offerings for the people, and they shall stand before the people to minister to them. |

| За те, що вони служили їм перед ідолами їхніми і були для дому Ізраїлевого спокусою до нечестя, Я підняв на них руку Мою, — говорить Господь Бог, — і вони понесуть покарання за провину свою; | Because they ministered to them before their idols, and it became to the house of Israel a punishment of iniquity; therefore have I lifted up my hand against them, saith the Lord God. |

| вони не будуть наближатися до Мене, щоб священнодіяти переді Мною і приступати до усіх святинь Моїх, до Святого Святих, але будуть нести на собі неславу свою і мерзоти свої, які чинили. | And they shall not draw nigh to me to minister to me in the priests' office, nor to approach the holy things of the children of Israel, nor to approach my holy of holies: but they shall bear their reproach for the error wherein they erred. |

| Зроблю їх вартовими храму для всіх служб його і для всього, що звершується у ньому. | They shall bring them to keep the charges of the house, for all the service of it, and for all that they shall do. |

|
| А священики з коліна Левіїного, сини Садока, які, під час відступу синів Ізраїлевих від Мене, постійно стояли на сторо́жі святилища Мого, ті будуть наближатися до Мене, щоб служити Мені, і будуть стояти перед лицем Моїм, щоб приносити Мені жир і кров, — говорить Господь Бог. | The priests the Levites, the sons of Sadduc, who kept the charges of my sanctuary when the house of Israel went astray from me, these shall draw nigh to me to minister to me, and shall stand before my face, to offer sacrifice to me, the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God. |

| Вони будуть входити у святилище Моє і наближатися до трапези Моєї, щоб служити Мені і нести варту Мою. | These shall enter into my sanctuary, and these shall approach my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my charges. |

| Коли прийдуть до воріт внутрішнього двору, тоді одягнуться в одежі лляні, а вовняне не повинне бути на них під час служіння їхнього біля воріт внутрішнього двору й усередині храму. | And it shall come to pass when they enter the gates of the inner court, that they shall put on linen robes; and they shall not put on woollen garments when they minister at the gate of the inner court. |

| Завивала на головах їхніх повинні бути також лляні; і спідній одяг на стегнах їхніх повинен бути також лляним; у поту вони не повинні підперізуватися. | And they shall have linen mitres upon their heads, and shall have linen drawers upon their loins; and they shall not tightly gird themselves. |

| А коли потрібно буде вийти на зовнішній двір, на зовнішній двір до народу, тоді вони повинні будуть зняти одяг свій, в якому вони служили, і залишити його у священних кімнатах, і одягтися в інший одяг, щоб священним одягом своїм не доторкатися до народу. | And when they go out into the outer court to the people, they shall put off their robes, in which they minister; and they shall lay them up in the chambers of the sanctuary, and shall put on other robes, and they shall not sanctify the people with their robes. |

| І голови свої вони не повинні голити, і не повинні відпускати волосся, а нехай неодмінно стрижуть голови свої. | And they shall not shave their heads, nor shall they pluck off their hair; they shall carefully cover their heads. |

| І вина не повинен пити жоден священик, коли йде у внутрішній двір. | And no priest shall drink any wine, when they go into the inner court. |
|

|
| Ні вдови, ні розведеної з чоловіком вони не повинні брати собі у дружини, а тільки можуть брати собі дівчат із племені дому Ізраїлевого і вдову, що залишилася вдовою від священика. | Neither shall they take to themselves to wife a widow, or one that is put away, but a virgin of the seed of Israel: but if there should happen to be a priest's widow, they shall take her. |

| Вони повинні навчати народ Мій відрізняти священне від несвященного і пояснювати їм, що́ нечисте і що́ чисте. | And they shall teach my people to distinguish between holy and profane, and they shall make known to them the difference between unclean and clean. |

|
| При спірних справах вони повинні бути присутніми у суді, і за уставом Моїм судити їх, і зберігати закони Мої і постанови Мої про всі свята Мої, і свято зберігати суботи Мої. | And these shall attend at a judgment of blood to decide it: they shall rightly observe my ordinances, and judge my judgments, and keep my statutes and my commandments in all my feasts; and they shall hallow my sabbaths. |

| До мертвої людини ніхто з них не повинен підходити, щоб не зробитися нечистим; тільки заради батька і матері, заради сина і дочки, брата і сестри, яка не була заміжньою, можна їм зробити себе нечистими. | And they shall not go in to the dead body of a man to defile themselves: only a priest may defile himself for a father, or for a mother, or for a son, or for a daughter, or for a brother, or for his sister, who has not been married. |

| Після очищення ж такого, ще сім днів слід відрахувати йому. | And after he has been cleansed, let him number to himself seven days. |

| І в той день, коли йому потрібно буде приступати до святині у внутрішньому дворі, щоб служити при святині, він повинен принести жертву за гріх, — говорить Господь Бог. | And on whatsoever day they shall enter into the inner court to minister in the holy place, they shall bring a propitiation, saith the Lord God. |

| А щодо наділу їхнього, то Я їхній наділ. І володіння не давайте їм у Ізраїлі: Я їхнє володіння. | And it shall be to them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: and no possession shall be given them among the children of Israel; for I am their possession. |

| Вони будуть їсти від хлібного приношення, від жертви за гріх і жертви за злочин; і все закляте у Ізраїлі їм же належить. | And these shall eat the meat-offerings, and the sin-offerings, and the trespass-offerings; and every special offering in Israel shall be theirs. |

|
| І початки з усіх плодів ваших і всякого роду приношення, з чого б не складалися приношення ваші, належать священикам; і початки меленого вами віддавайте священикові, щоб над домом твоїм спочивало благословення. | And the first-fruits of all things, and the first-born of all animals and all offerings, of all your first-fruits there shall be a share for the priests; and ye shall give your earliest produce to the priest, to bring your blessings upon your houses. |

| Ніякої мертвечини і нічого, роздертого звіром, ні з птахів, ні з худоби, не повинні їсти священики. | And the priests shall eat no bird or beast that dies of itself, or is taken of wild beasts. |
