| І було у тридцятий рік, у четвертий місяць, у п’ятий день місяця, коли я знаходився серед переселенців біля річки Ховарі, розверзлися небеса, і я бачив видіння Боже. | Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, that I was in the midst of the captivity by the river of Chobar; and the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. |

| У п’ятий день місяця (це був п’ятий рік від полонення царя Іоакима), | On the fifth day of the month; this was the fifth year of the captivity of king Joakim. |

| було слово Господнє до Єзекиїля, сина Вузія, священика, у землі Халдейській, біля річки Ховарі; і була на ньому там рука Господня. | And the word of the Lord came to Jezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river of Chobar; and the hand of the Lord was upon me. |

| І я бачив, і ось, бурхливий вітер ішов від півночі, велика хмара і вогонь, що клубочився, і сяйво навколо нього, | And I looked, and, behold, a sweeping wind came from the north, and a great cloud on it, and there was brightness round about it, and gleaming fire, and in the midst of it as it were the appearance of amber in the midst of the fire, and brightness in it. |

| а із середини його ніби світло полум’я із середини вогню; і з середини його видно було подобу чотирьох тварин, — і такий був вигляд їх: вигляд їх був, як у людини; | And in the midst as it were the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; the likeness of a man was upon them. |

| і в кожної чотири лиця, і в кожної з них чотири крила; | And each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. |

| а ноги їх — ноги прямі, і ступні ніг їх — як ступня ноги у тельця, і блищали, як блискуча мідь, (і крила їх легкі). | And their legs were straight; and their feet were winged, and there were sparks, like gleaming brass, and their wings were light. |

| І руки людські були під крилами їх, на чотирьох боках їх; | And the hand of a man was under their wings on their four sides. |

| і лиця у них і крила у них — у всіх чотирьох; крила їх торкалися одне одного; під час ходи своєї вони не поверталися, а йшли кожне в напрямку лиця свого. | And the faces of them four turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. |

| Подоба лиць їх — лице людини й лице лева з правого боку у всіх їх чотирьох; а з лівого боку лице тельця у всіх чотирьох і лице орла у всіх чотирьох. | And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right to the four; and the face of a calf on the left to the four; and the face of an eagle to the four. |

| І лиця їх і крила їх зверху були розділені, але у кожного два крила торкалися одне одного, а два покривали тіла їх. | And the four had their wings spread out above; each one had two joined to one another, and two covered their bodies. |

| І йшли вони, кожне у той бік, який перед лицем його; куди дух хотів іти, туди і йшли; під час ходи своєї не поверталися. | And each one went straight forward: wherever the spirit was going they went, and turned not back. |

| І вигляд цих тварин був як вигляд палаючих вуглин, як вигляд лампад; вогонь ходив між тваринами, і сяйво від вогню і блискавка виходила з вогню. | And in the midst of the living creatures there was an appearance as of burning coals of fire, as an appearance of lamps turning among the living creatures; and the brightness of fire, and out of the fire came forth lightning. |

| І тварини швидко рухалися туди і сюди, як блискає блискавка. | |

| І я дивився на тварин, і ось, на землі біля цих тварин по одному колесу перед чотирма лицями їх. | And I looked, and, behold, the four had each one wheel on the ground near the living creatures. |

| Вигляд коліс і побудова їх — як вигляд топаза, і подоба у всіх чотирьох одна; і за виглядом їх і за побудовою їх здавалося, ніби колесо знаходилося у колесі. | And the appearance of the wheels was as the appearance of beryl: and the four had one likeness: and their work was as it were a wheel in a wheel. |

| Коли вони йшли, йшли на чотири свої боки; під час ходи не поверталися. | They went on their four sides: they turned not as they went; |

| А ободи їх — високі і страшні були вони; ободи їх у всіх чотирьох навколо повні були очей. | neither did their backs turn: and they were high: and I beheld them, and the backs of them four were full of eyes round about. |

| І коли йшли тварини, йшли і колеса поряд з ними; а коли тварини піднімалися від землі, тоді піднімалися і колеса. | And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures lifted themselves off the earth, the wheels were lifted off. |
|

| Куди дух хотів іти, туди йшли і вони; куди б не пішов дух, і колеса піднімалися нарівні з ними, бо дух тварин був у колесах. | Wherever the cloud happened to be, there was the spirit ready to go: the wheels went and were lifted up with them; because the spirit of life was in the wheels. |

| Коли йшли ті, йшли і вони; і коли ті стояли, стояли і вони; і коли ті піднімалися від землі, тоді нарівні з ними піднімалися і колеса, тому що дух тварин був у колесах. | When those went, the wheels went; and when those stood, the wheels stood; and when those lifted themselves off the earth, they were lifted off with them: for the spirit of life was in the wheels. |

| Над головами тварин була подоба склепіння, як вигляд дивного кристала, простертого згори над головами їх. | And the likeness over the heads of the living creatures was as a firmament, as the appearance of crystal, spread out over their wings above. |

| А під склепінням простягалися крила їх прямо одне до іншого, й у кожного було два крила, які покривали їх, у кожного два крила покривали тіла їх. | And their wings were spread out under the firmament, reaching one to the other; two wings to each, covering their bodies. |

| І коли вони йшли, я чув шум крил їх, ніби шум великих вод, ніби глас Всемогутнього, сильний шум, ніби шум у військовому стані; а коли вони зупинялися, опускали крила свої. | And I heard the sound of their wings when they went, as the sound of much water: and when they stood, their wings were let down. |

| І голос був зі склепіння, яке над головами їх; коли вони зупинялися, тоді опускали крила свої. | And lo! a voice from above the firmament |

| А над склепінням, яке над головами їх, була подоба престолу на вигляд ніби із каменя сапфіра; а над подобою престолу була ніби подоба людини вгорі на ньому. | that was over their head, there was as the appearance of a sapphire stone, and the likeness of a throne upon it: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as an appearance of a man above. |

| І бачив я ніби палаючий метал, ніби вигляд вогню всередині нього навколо; від вигляду стегон його і вище і від вигляду стегон його і нижче я бачив ніби якийсь вогонь, і сяйво було навколо нього. | And I saw as it were the resemblance of amber from the appearance of the loins and upwards, and from the appearance of the loins and under I saw an appearance of fire, and the brightness thereof round about. |

| В якому вигляді буває веселка на хмарах під час дощу, такий вигляд мало це сяйво навколо. | As the appearance of the bow when it is in the cloud in days of rain, so was the form of the brightness round about. |
