| Tвэщaвъ же є3ліфaзъ fеманjтинъ, речE: | Then Eliphaz the Thæmanite answered and said, |

| не гDь ли є4сть научazй рaзуму и3 хи1трости; | Is it not the Lord that teaches understanding and knowledge? |

| И$бо к0е попечeніе гDу, ѓще ты2 бhлъ є3си2 дёлы непор0ченъ; и3ли2 (кaz) п0льза, ћкw пр0стъ твори1ти бyдеши пyть тв0й; | For what matters it to the Lord, if thou wert blameless in thy works? or is it profitable that thou shouldest perfect thy way? |

| и3ли2 њпасeніе и3мёz t тебє2 њбличи1тъ тS и3 вни1детъ съ тоб0ю въ сyдъ; | Wilt thou maintain and plead thine own cause? and will he enter into judgment with thee? |

| Е#дA ѕл0ба твоS є4сть не мн0га; безчи1сленніи же твои2 сyть грэси2; | Is not thy wickedness abundant, and thy sins innumerable? |
|

|
| Въ зал0гъ бо и3мaлъ є3си2 t брaтіи твоеS вотщE, nдeжду же наги1хъ tнимaлъ є3си2, | And thou hast taken security of thy brethren for nothing, and hast taken away the clothing of the naked. |
|

|
| нижE вод0ю жaждущихъ напои1лъ є3си2, но ѓлчущихъ лиши1лъ є3си2 хлёба: | Neither hast thou given water to the thirsty to drink, but hast taken away the morsel of the hungry. |
|

| ўдивлsлсz же є3си2 нёкихъ лицY и3 повергaлъ є3си2 ўб0гихъ на земли2: | And thou hast accepted the persons of some; and thou hast established those that were already settled on the earth. |
|

|
| вдови6цы же tпусти1лъ є3си2 тщы2 и3 сирwты2 њѕл0билъ є3си2. | But thou hast sent widows away empty, and hast afflicted orphans. |
|

|
| Сегw2 рaди њбыд0ша тS сBти, и3 поспэши2 на тS рaть вели1ка: | Therefore snares have compassed thee, and disastrous war has troubled thee. |
|

|
| свётъ тебЁ тмA бhсть, ўснyвшаго же водa тz покры2. | The light has proved darkness to thee, and water has covered thee on thy lying down. |
|

|
| Е#дA на выс0кихъ живhй не призирaетъ; ўкори1зною же возносsщихсz смири2. | Does not he that dwells in the high places observe? and has he not brought down the proud? |
|

|
| И# рeклъ є3си2: что2 разумЁ крёпкій; и3ли2 во мрaцэ разсyдитъ; | And thou hast said, What does the Mighty One know? does he judge in the dark? |
|

|
| W$блакъ покр0въ є3гw2, и3 неуви1димь бyдетъ, и3 крyгъ небесE њбх0дитъ. | A cloud is his hiding-place, and he shall not be seen; and he passes through the circle of heaven. |
|

|
| Е#дA стезю2 дрeвнюю сохрани1ши, въ ню1же ходи1ша мyжіе непрaведни, | Wilt thou not mark the old way, which righteous men have trodden? |
|

|
| и5же ћти бhша прeжде врeмене; рэкA текyщаz њснов†ніz и4хъ, | who were seized before their time: their foundations are as an overflowing stream. |
|

|
| глаг0лющіи: что2 сотвори1тъ нaмъ гDь; и3ли2 что2 нанесeтъ на ны2 вседержи1тель; | Who say, What will the Lord do to us? or what will the Almighty bring upon us? |
|

|
| И$же и3сп0лнилъ є4сть д0мы и4хъ благи1ми: совётъ же нечести1выхъ далeче t негw2. | Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from him. |
|

|
| Ви1дэвше прaвєдницы возсмэsшасz, непор0ченъ же глумлsшесz и5мъ: | The righteous have seen it, and laughed, and the blameless one has derided them. |
|

|
20
|
| не поги1бе ли и3мёніе и4хъ, и3 њстaнки и4хъ поsстъ џгнь; | Verily their substance has been utterly destroyed, and the fire shall devour what is left of their property. |
|

|
| Бyди u5бо твeрдъ, ѓще претерпи1ши, пот0мъ пл0дъ тв0й бyдетъ во благи1хъ. | Be firm, I pray thee, if thou canst endure; then thy fruit shall prosper. |
|

|
| Пріими1 же и3з8 ќстъ є3гw2 и3зрэчeніе и3 воспріими2 словесA є3гw2 въ сeрдце твоE. | And receive a declaration from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. |
|

|
| Ѓще же њбрати1шисz и3 смири1ши себE пред8 гDемъ, и3 далeче сотвори1ши t жили1ща твоегw2 непрaвду, | And if thou shalt turn and humble thyself before the Lord, thou hast thus removed unrighteousness far from thy habitation. |

|
| и3 положeнъ бyдеши на пeрсти въ кaмени, и3 ћкоже кaмень пот0ка њфjрска. | Thou shalt lay up for thyself treasure in a heap on the rock; and Sophir shall be as the rock of the torrent. |
|

|
| Бyдетъ u5бо тебЁ вседержи1тель пом0щникъ t вр†гъ, чи1ста же сотвори1тъ тS ћкоже сребро2 разжжeно, | So the Almighty shall be thy helper from enemies, and he shall bring thee forth pure as silver that has been tried by fire. |

| пот0мъ дерзновeніе воз8имёеши пред8 бGомъ, воззрёвъ вeселw на нeбо. | Then shalt thou have boldness before the Lord, looking up cheerfully to heaven. |

| Пом0льшусz же тебЁ къ немY, ўслhшитъ тS, дaстъ же ти2 њбёты тво‰ воздaти, | And he shall hear thee when thou prayest to him, and he shall grant thee power to pay thy vows. |
|

| ўстр0итъ же ти2 жили1ще прaвды, на путeхъ же твои1хъ бyдетъ свётъ: | And he shall establish to thee again a habitation of righteousness and there shall be light upon thy paths. |
|

|
| ћкw смири1лъ є3си2 себE, тогдA речeши: вознесeсz, и3 пони1кша nчи1ма спасeтъ, | Because thou hast humbled thyself; and thou shalt say, Man has behaved proudly, but he shall save him that is of lowly eyes. |
|

|
| и3збaвитъ непови1ннаго, и3 спасeшисz чи1стыма рукaма твои1ма. | He shall deliver the innocent, and do thou save thyself by thy pure hands. |
