| вои1стинну вёмъ, ћкw тaкw є4сть: кaкw бо бyдетъ прaведенъ человёкъ ў гDа; | I know of a truth that it is so: for how shall a mortal man be just before the Lord? |

| ѓще бо восх0щетъ суди1тисz съ ни1мъ, не послyшаетъ є3гw2, да не преречeтъ ко є3ди1ному словеси2 є3гw2 t тhсzщи. | For if he would enter into judgment with him, God would not hearken to him, so that he should answer to one of his charges of a thousand. |

| Премdръ бо є4сть мhслію, крёпокъ же и3 вели1къ: кто2 жeстокъ бhвъ проти1ву є3гw2, пребhсть; | For he is wise in mind, and mighty, and great: who has hardened himself against him and endured? |

| Њбетшazй г0ры, и3 не вёдzтъ, превращazй | гнёвомъ: | Who wears out the mountains, and men know it not: who overturns them in anger. |
|

|
| трzсhй поднебeсную и3з8 њсновaній, столпи1 же є3S колeблютсz: | Who shakes the earth under heaven from its foundations, and its pillars totter. |

|
| гlzй с0лнцу, и3 не восх0дитъ, ѕвёзды же печaтствуетъ: | Who commands the sun, and it rises not; and he seals up the stars. |
|

|
| прострhй є3ди1нъ нeбо и3 ходsй но м0рю, ћкw по земли2: | Who alone has stretched out the heavens, and walks on the sea as on firm ground. |
|

|
| творsй плі†ды и3 є3спeра, и3 ґрктyра и3 сокрHвища ю4жнаz: | Who makes Pleias, and Hesperus, and Arcturus, and the chambers of the south. |
|

|
| творsй вє1ліz и3 неизслёдwваннаz, сл†внаz же и3 и3зр‰днаz, и5мже нёсть числA. | Who does great and unsearchable things; glorious also and excellent things, innumerable. |

|
| Ѓще пріи1детъ ко мнЁ, не и4мамъ ви1дэти: и3 ѓще мимои1детъ менє2, никaкw ўразумёхъ. | If ever he should go beyond me, I shall not see him: if he should pass by me, neither thus have I known it. |
|

|
| Ѓще в0зметъ, кто2 возврати1тъ; и3ли2 кто2 речeтъ є3мY: что2 сотвори1лъ є3си2; | If he would take away, who shall turn him back? or who shall say to him, What hast thou done? |

|
| Сaмъ бо tвращaетъ гнёвъ, слzк0шасz под8 ни1мъ ки1ти поднебeсніи. | For if he has turned away his anger, the whales under heaven have stooped under him. |
|

|
| Ѓще же мS ўслhшитъ, и3ли2 разсyдитъ глаг0лы мо‰; | Oh then that he would hearken to me, or judge my cause. |
|

|
15
|
| Ѓще бо и3 прaведенъ бyду, не ўслhшитъ менE, судY є3гw2 помолю1сz: | For though I be righteous, he will not hearken to me: I will intreat his judgment. |
|

|
| ѓще же воззовY, и3 ўслhшитъ мS, не и3мY вёры, ћкw ўслhша глaсъ м0й. | And if I should call and he should not hearken, I cannot believe that he has listened to my voice. |
|

|
| Да не мгл0ю мS потреби1тъ, мнHга же ми2 сотрє1ніz сотвори2 всyе, | Let him not crush me with a dark storm: but he has made my bruises many without cause. |
|

|
18
|
| не њставлsетъ бо мS tдохнyти, и3сп0лни же мS г0рести. | For he suffers me not to take breath, but he has filled me with bitterness. |
|

19
|
| Понeже си1ленъ є4сть крёпостію: кто2 u5бо судY є3гw2 воспроти1витсz; | For indeed he is strong in power: who then shall resist his judgment? |
|

|
20
|
| Ѓще бо бyду прaведенъ, ўстA мо‰ нечє1стіz сотворsтъ: ѓще же бyду непор0ченъ, стр0потенъ бyду. | For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane: and though I should seem blameless, I shall be proved perverse. |

| Ѓще бо нечeстіе сотвори1хъ, не вёмъ душeю моeю: nбaче teмлетсz ми2 жив0тъ. | For even if I have sinned, I know it not in my soul: but my life is taken away. |
|

|
| Тёмже рёхъ: вели1ка и3 си1льна губи1тъ гнёвъ. | Wherefore I said, Wrath slays the great and mighty man. |
|

|
| Ћкw лукaвіи смeртію лю1тою поги1бнутъ, nбaче прaвєднымъ посмэвaютсz. | For the worthless die, but the righteous are laughed to scorn. |
|

|
| ПреданA є4сть землS въ рyцэ нечести1вагw, ли1ца судjй є3S покрывaетъ: ѓще же не сaмъ є4сть, кто2 є4сть; | For they are delivered into the hands of the unrighteous man: he covers the faces of the judges of the earth: but if it be not he, who is it? |

| Житіe же моE є4сть легчaе скоротeчца: tбэг0ша и3 не ви1дэша. | But my life is swifter than a post: my days have fled away, and they knew it not. |

|
| И#ли2 є4сть кораблє1мъ слёдъ пути2, и3ли2 nрлA летsща, и4щуща ћди; | Or again, is there a trace of their path left by ships? or is there one of the flying eagle as it seeks its prey? |

| Ѓще бо рекY: забyду глаг0лz, прини1кнувъ лицeмъ воздохнY, | And if I should say, I will forget to speak, I will bow down my face and groan; |

|
| трzсyсz всёми ўдесы2: вёмъ бо, ћкw не безви1нна мS њстaвиши. | I quake in all my limbs, for I know that thou wilt not leave me alone as innocent. |
|

|
| Ѓще же нечести1въ є4смь, почто2 не ўмр0хъ; | But since I am ungodly, why have I not died? |
|

|
| Ѓще бо и3змhюсz снёгомъ и3 њчи1щусz рукaми чи1стыми, | For if I should wash myself with snow, and purge myself with pure hands, |

|
| дов0лнw во сквeрнэ њмочи1лъ мS є3си2, возгнушaсz же мн0ю nдeжда моS. | thou hadst thoroughly plunged me in filth, and my garment had abhorred me. |
|

|
| Нёси бо человёкъ, ћкоже ѓзъ, є3мyже противопрю1сz, да пріи1демъ вкyпэ на сyдъ. | For thou art not man like me, with whom I could contend, that we might come together to judgment. |

|
| Q, дабы2 ходaтай нaмъ бhлъ, и3 њбличazй и3 разслyшаzй междY nбёма. | Would that he our mediator were present, and a reprover, and one who should hear the cause between both. |

| Да tи1метъ t менє2 жeзлъ, стрaхъ же є3гw2 да не смущaетъ менE: | Let him remove his rod from me, and let not his fear terrify me: |

35
|
| и3 не ўбою1сz, но возглаг0лю, и4бо тaкw не вёмъ сaмъ себE. | so shall I not be afraid, but I will speak: for I am not thus conscious of guilt. |
